Flow Dreaming.
It's a show where we talk about the power of your mind to change your world around you, to literally affect the fabric of your reality. We talk about this feeling of hope and joy and relief. And that is what being aware of your flow does. It gives you a feeling of power again in your lives. Oh, my God. You were so on target. You are so amazing. I can't thank you enough.
Breathe.
It is the feeling that you bring forward. It is your emotional connection that really sets the tone for what is going to be happening to you and for you. You know that feeling when you touch it, it just spreads through you. Thank you for taking my call. I don't know why I feel like crying.
I think I just feel your love.
Of course. And I think I'm gonna get some ANSWERS. I'm Summer McStravik, and welcome to another episode of Flow Dreaming. Welcome to Flow Dre. Before we get started, a really quick note. If you found this show on itunes or by downloading the Flow Dreaming podcast app, it would mean so much if you took a moment to review it. That is how other people will find this show and get the same great value out of it that I hope you're getting. So my huge thanks and sparkles and Flow go to all of you who just take that few moments to go write a quick little message of telling other people. This is good. Go listen. Thanks. Now off we go to the show. Welcome to Flow Dreaming. Hi, everybody, this is Summer. I'm here for another hour of Flow Dreaming with you in my weekly podcast. Had to turn off my heater. Can you believe that? Make this a little quieter for you as I as I record. So I thought I would do something a little different today. I was actually just talking with my producer, Gameron, telling him that as I was writing up my notes about today's program, I realized I had 83 pages of episode descriptions in this document. Because Flow Dreaming is entering its 11th year and over 500 different episodes, which is pretty amazing if you think about it. One of the longest running podcasts could be the longest running podcast actually, for all I know. In the field of self help and spirituality, we talk about manifesting intuition, law of attraction, creation. Increasingly, I'm sharing with you stories of my students, stories of how my own thinking is changing and up leveling how I'm approaching life differently as a person who Flow Dreams having expanded from the technique of flow dreaming into really a worldview way of living, way of thinking as I go through my days and my life. So if all of this is interesting to you. Keep listening. You can get the app for this, by the way, and that is available for, let's see, Android style phones and iPhones and gosh, just about everything. You can find it in Google Play, on Amazon, through itunes. It's a free app. It'll help you organize the program and search by, you know, name. If you're looking for a specific topic, for instance, it's really, really nice to have. And the other thing is, of course, go to my website, flow dreaming.com. right? The website and the web shop there underwrites the whole podcast. It's, you know what helps me get this on air for you every single week for all the free teaching that I've done. So do check it out the last little bit is that me is enrolling. Oh my gosh, it starts in March. If you're listening to this on demand and it's way past March, go check it out anyway. Typically it only enrolls once a year, but you want to be there when we start enrolling. It's actually 50% filled already, and we opened the doors only a few weeks ago, so it goes fast. And before you know it, the new crop of me schoolers are working with me two to three times a month, actually, for the entire year. And unlike the podcast in me school, I am giving processes. I am doing flow dreams with my students. I'm answering their questions directly in our phone calls together. I'm actually leading people on this arc of inner development, leading them through these processes that will help them connect to the universe, connect to their flow manifest. Troubleshoot, debug, right? A lot of times we just talk about why isn't it working? What, what, what's going on? Are we hitting a block or a wall or a ceiling? And how do we adjust to it? What, what should we be doing? So me school is a super delicious place to be. Go check it out. So, as I was saying, I thought I would try something a little different today. A lot of you guys listen to my mother's podcast. I'll give her a shout out. It's called the Dear Venus Show. And she's, she's a lot more. How do I say? Well, she just tells you everything that's going on. She tells you about all of her, you know, weekly escapades and what's going on in our family and all of our health problems and all kinds of. She's a lot more gossipy, a lot more, you know, tabloidy. Sorry, mom. She's also an amazing psychic and intuitive and so you should, you should listen to her show. It just, I tend to be more, oh, well, we're gonna go into flow and be thoughtful and so I'm gonna change things up and I'm going to kind of be tabloidy and chit chatty and tell you just a little about my life. So if you're looking to learn about flow dreaming this week, try another episode. This is sort of behind the scenes of what's been going on for me over the last half year. So starting in June, right, I had just led my MI school class through this amazing retreat and in Carlsbad at this, this gorgeous spa, we had just finished three intense days. Amazing. And a couple days after that, you know, I go to my doctor, have my regular, regular checkup. Well, actually it wasn't a regular checkup come to think of it, because I'd had that earlier in the year. But the doctor discovers, hey, you know that lump that you just brought to my attention, that's breast cancer. So it was a whirlwind at that point, right? I think within like three days they had thoroughly tested me and poked me and you know, spread that sucker, that tumor out under the microscope and, you know, had some definitive details on it. And I have to say the whole process, right, of learning that you have cancer plunges you into a kind of alternate reality. You know, for one thing, you're still saying to yourself, what? No, I don't. Too young for that. Are you kidding me? What? What? It's almost like moving through, you know, the stages of grief. You know, there's denial, then there's anger. There's all kinds of things that you move through. You know, finally acceptance and you, and you move forward. Meanwhile, you're, you're being asked to make these pretty intense decisions very quickly, right? What are you going to do about this? Are you going to go all natural? Are you going to let the doctors, you know, have their way with you? What are you going to do? And the way that, you know, the system is set up when you're newly diagnosed with anything often is that there are groups of doctors, you know, who render care together in their, in their, you know, hospital affiliated groups. And so they'll just sort of set you up. And that's what happened with me. They set me up with a lot of different, different doctors and nurses and so forth that I had to go and consult with. I found as I got into the process that the world of traditional medicine and the world of alternative medicine, they really dislike each other. They really, really do. So I would go to the oncologist and I'd say, well, I'm planning on continuing to take this supplement and that supplement and perhaps try some CBD oil or perhaps all the other things that I was going to do. And the oncologist would say, don't do that. Don't do any of that. You can't take anything. No, you're not. We're only. And I realized rapidly I would have to build a team myself. I'd have to build a team myself. I couldn't rely on just what was offered, because if I did, I was going to end up with a lot of people whose viewpoints were fighting each other. And I didn't want to create any kind of friction like that in my flow. Right. If I'm going to treat this cancer, if I'm going to heal myself, I need to make sure my whole team is on board and thinking the way I'm thinking. So any of you, by the way, who I, you know, who may have any kind of health, you know, concern going on, keep that in mind. Right? You want to always approach things from that point of ease. Right. Of everyone working together. And in my case, I wanted both. I wanted to have a balanced treatment. So I ended up interviewing no fewer than six oncologists. Right. I want a second opinion. I want a third opinion. I want a fourth opinion. I want a fifth. I want a sixth. Of those, I chose two. I chose an oncologist, and I chose a radiation oncologist. And then I used some other resources for supplemental treatment. And these were some of the people who helped me get some alternative means of testing ones that can test other cancer markers in your blood and other things that are going on systemically in your body, not just the cancer itself. Right. Because obviously the cancer is living in a home. And what's going on in that home, you know, it's like a child in a home. Do you just treat the child, or do you treat the entire family? Environment. You need to treat the environment. So I put together a program where I brought in people who would be willing to work with one another. I brought in my acupuncturist. I'm fortunate that I have a lot of nutritionists in my own family, herbalists, who I'm able. I was able to put together a nice supplementation list with. That did not conflict with the chemotherapy that I chose. So let's see. This year, I've been through five months of chemotherapy. I'm in my fourth week of daily radiation. My hair is about a Half an inch long, maybe quarter of an inch. It's coming in all kinds of wild colors right now. There's a big debate here in the house about whether it's coming in corn silk or gray. And I keep saying, no, it's corn silk. It's really. It's blonde with big patches of these dark hairs as well. So they say that this is a common after effect of chemo, that your hair is confused for a while. The follicles can't produce the correct color, and they have to take a while to get started and remember or figure out what color they intend to be. So I'm quite a sight. My God. I lost about £16 over the course of my treatment so far, which was great because I needed it. I did a lot of deep cleansing. One of the things that I used, aside from my supplement list, was I began juicing with parsley. So parsley is a natural diuretic, and it also has intense anti cancer, especially anti breast cancer qualities to it, which I did not know at the time. All I knew is that I needed to drink parsley juice every day. So I don't have a juicer. I have a magic bullet, which is sort of like one of those, what do they call it, the veggie vega vegemiters, or there's another one of those. There's a couple brands out there. You basically throw in a handful of parsley into water, and then you put in about a quarter of a fresh lemon. And then I would throw in a big chunk of fresh ginger, ginger, lemon, parsley, and a whole lot of water, and I would blend it up until it was extremely fine, and then I drink it down. And I've been doing that practically every day, at least once or twice a day since June. This has really helped cleanse my system and kind of wake it up again. You know, get all these poisons pushed out, especially from the chemo and other things that are going on. So I highly recommend the parsley drink to anybody out there who needs a really good liver and kidney flush. It's gentle. It's gentle enough to use all through chemo, but it's really, really effective. So that's one of the things that helped me a lot. See some of the other things. What else did I want to talk to you about? Kind of just share the background. How did my family adjust? How did my business adjust? Well, that was scary in the beginning. You know, I had to ask myself a fundamental question. Maybe I should just let flow dreaming go, right? Maybe I should. You Know, shut me school down, maybe I should just kind of walk away from everything, spend the time with my family, spend the time with my healing. And after I thought about that for a while, I realized if I did that, you know, there was a part of me that was saying, well, that's because you're going to die, right? You know, spend all the time you can with your family if that's all you've got. And I thought, you know, I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that. I really wouldn't. To take something I've built and I've loved for so long and shut it down. Because I wanted to spend the last quality days with my family. And I realized that I was coming from a very, very wrong intention if that was the case, because I was presuming I wouldn't kick it. So instead I said, well, of course I'm going to be kicking this, of course I'm going to be healing this. Of course I'm going to work with my body and we're going to get through this together. So when I come back from that, of course I want my flow dreaming and I want my team and my family and my staff and all my friends, friends that I've made. So then it became a no brainer to keep flow dreaming moving and growing and blossoming. So it means that I had to shift a lot in terms of my time, right. How do you be a full time mom? How do you go through, you know, six rounds of chemotherapy over five months? How do you, you know, run a large company, you know, with hundreds of students? Well, how do I do that? I learned that I could step back in a big way. And I hate to say it, but I don't know if I would have ever learned this lesson as effectively if I hadn't been forced to the way I just was. Sometimes my flow gets a little rough with me because it knows I can be so stubborn and I'll just keep push, push, pushing things, you know, until it really has to step in. And I know, I hate to admit that, especially after all the years that I've been doing this, but it's true. So it heard me say, you want more balance in your life? Well, you're going to have to break the habit and pull back, right? Let other people step into the void. And that was so enlightening for me. When you step back from all the things that you're handling, right, all the things that you take care of, we tend to think everything will fall down. It's like juggling, you know, Juggling a bunch of plates and dishes. It's all crash. Instead, you create a void. And what fills the void? Other people. You finally make room for them to step in. You've been hogging this space. And that idea has come so clear to me over the last six months. My husband now takes our kids to school. He gets up with them, he makes them breakfast, he picks them up after school. He's arranged all this carp with all the other parents in the neighborhood, which I was never able to really get off the ground. It's been amazing. I had friends step in and, and bring me dinners, you know, for months and months on end. I'd never even thought to ask for that. I felt bad about it for a while. It opened me up that I had to learn to receive love, learn to receive people want to help. It makes them feel good, makes them feel connected. It gives them purpose in their life. I was denying them that opportunity because I was so damn self sufficient all the time. But when I stepped back, they came in and they filled the void. And now I know which one of my friends are good cooks. I'm kidding. I love them all. They were all wonderful. So that was big for me, being able to step back even with my staff, right? I would look at things on my list and clear the plate. Clear the plate. Can you do this? Can you do this? Can you do this? I still work on that. In fact, I have a list right now, I'm looking down at my desk. 16 items on my list, you know, and gals, if you're listening, my staff, some of these are going to have to go to you. But this is important. See, because I've created space in my life. I created a big, big space where I could focus on myself and my healing if I had to plow through cancer. Resentful, right? Holding resentment inside of me, holding resentment in my heart, in my body. Still feeling burdened, still feeling this. This feeling like I had abandoned things or right. I couldn't do that. That's. That for me would not be living in flow. So instead I found a different kind of balance. And that balance looked like me working my flow, dreaming, writing my newsletters, attending to my me school students. I prioritized, you know, what I. And who do I owe the biggest commitment to? And those are the things and the people that I stayed very close with and very committed to. Everything else I let go. I put the pause button on, right? Marketing activities, all kinds of things like that that, you know, you need to do to run a business. I Just press the pause button. My staff had to give them a lot more, actually. So this grand rebalancing went on in my home and in my business and in my head, especially in my head now. This changed fundamentally the way I interacted with flow, right? What I am inside is what I create outside me. I would not have been able to make all of these changes outside me to make room for the kind of treatment I wanted to give to myself if I didn't make these changes inside. Right? This is the same reason why whenever we try to, you know, make an exercise program or you know, institute all these new things, you know, the daily meditation plus the yoga, stretching, and then our exercise and then our good lunches, you know, we put these, these beautiful schedules of self care together for us and then we don't do them. Right. You're trying to change things outside, but the inside, that's gotta shift. Now. My commitment is to balance, right? Balance, balance, balance. Make the time. Make the time for yourself. Prioritize. You can let things go. Other people will step in. You are now giving them that opportunity to do so. You know, my kids, I've hardly mentioned them, but they've been able to see so much more of me. Why? Because mom was in bed. They'd come home from school at 3 and I'm in bed, you know, and I'm on my laptop and I'm doing work because I've discovered that I really do prefer doing work than watching daytime tv. There's just nothing there for me. So I'd be on my laptop and on the days when I was too ill to be doing my laptop, I was reading magazines or I was watching the travel channel, right? I have a whole list of places I want to go now. And so I got to see my kids a lot more. And then there were many days that I'd be up at 3 or 4 in the morning and unable to sleep because your entire, you know, your body or your hormonal system, your endocrine system, everything gets so changed. And then I'd have these long stretches through the night where the whole house would be asleep and it's just me and the cats. And I'd come in and sit at my computer and then I would just daydream things. What do I want to do? How's my life going to look? What would it be cool to do with my me schoolers next? What should I talk about in my podcast? Right? So I opened up all of this new creative dreaming time inside my life and inside my head. Creative Dreaming time, right? I started to redevelop my website. I thought, ooh, that's a cool kind of creative project I can do in the background. So the upshot of all of this, that now that I'm coming to the end of the conventional portion of treatment, I have a much more ordered and beautiful life. Right? How the heck did that happen? After cancer treatment, you would think I should be standing in the wreckage, you know, in the debris and just reaching out to pick up the pieces. I have a much more ordered and beautiful life. You know, my husband is working from home and he's happy. My kids are happy that I'm here every day. And I've been around so much more. I've been in bed and they come and they snuggle next to me and we talk about their day and we have so much more time just to share. And I'm not stressed and I'm not firing off cortisol all the time in my body. Putting on weight as a result, by the way, I think I've developed a very sneaky suspicion that stress is one of the major factors of weight gain. Just going to put that out there because I had my first massage in what, eight or nine months now? My first massage last week. And as she was working through all the muscles, I realized they are looser than they've ever been. My body's not holding stress, not holding stress. My muscles aren't tight and I have a feeling my fat cells aren't clinging to me either. So there a reason to get rid of stress. So this is kind of where I'm at. This is what's happened. You know, some of the alternative therapies that I've turned to have been weekly or bi weekly acupuncture treatments. I do a kind of breathing meditation that I have found to be very useful just to clear my mind. In addition to flow dreaming, of course, I've been getting qigong and you know, having energy healing work as well. All of my supplements that I've referred to already. My cancer yoga class, which I went to for the first time last night, very interesting. Still, still fretting that I'm always the youngest person there. Which reminds me, something else that's really changed for me. I don't know how else to describe it, but I'm thinking a lot of you will understand. Something in my mind feels like it's really aged, you know, it's aged. It's a sense of, I don't know, I hate to say maturity because it sounds silly to say That a gravitas, an insight, I suppose that anytime you push through something major and life threatening, you get matured, right? You get aged by it. And I feel that. And sometimes when I'm talking and interacting with people, it becomes very palpable to me, becomes very. I become very aware of this, this difference now inside myself. And it's been a really curious feeling, something I'm still exploring, but maybe you felt it too, and that's why I just threw that one out there. All right, I guess that's it. Was that open enough about what's gone on in my life and really how I've handled things? There have been days when I've woken up terribly depressed, despite how my newsletters sound. And when those days have occurred, I always know there's always another part of me that sort of watching myself and reminds myself, this isn't really you, you know, this isn't you, right? And I say, yeah, I know it's not me. I don't usually feel bleak and hopeless and irritable and down. And the other part of myself says, yeah, it's the chemicals washing through. It's the enforced menopause that chemo brings on. It's the fact that you've been completely scrambled, all of your cells have been killed over. And I go, I know, I know, I know. And this part of me says, so just let yourself feel this way, you know, let yourself go through this day, but it's not who you really, really are. And I think that has given me a huge appreciation for everyone who deals with ongoing depression, Right? Because I could very easily see how if I woke feeling that way every day, day after day, month after month, year after year, I probably would begin to believe that that, in fact was who I really am. That would be the most terrible thing to believe at all, to think that that's who I really was. But I've been able to not feel that way every day, right? A day or two later, I'll wake up and I'll feel good, just feel good, and I'll say, ah, this is who I am. And it's given me that contrast and made me feel very empathetic to those of you who don't wake up feeling that way, who have started to believe that who you are. I know it's not who you are, but I know how you can arrive there. So let's go to a quick break and when we get back, I have no idea what we're going to do. We'll probably go to your calls. Actually, I Think that's what I'm supposed to do. I do take live calls during this, this program which I air as a live radio broadcast. You can go to my website and during my live times, which are Tuesdays at 12 noon, that is when I, you know, broadcast this live. And you can always call in. I love to look in you, talk with you about anything, give you insights, do some Flow dreaming. Like I said, today's show really anomalous. I just felt like it was time to kind of let you peel back and see what I've been going through personally. So stay with me. When we get back, we'll do calls and I think of course we're still going to do a flow dream. So I'll talk to you in just a minute. Few minutes. Hey, it's summer again and yes, we're on break, but I wanted to share some important stuff with you about the hugely amazing and gorgeous MI School of flo. Right now it's either enrolling or it's accepting names onto the wait list. This means that I'm accepting students that I work with personally over the year ahead. And I teach you to to do what I do. How to think, how I think, how to work with flow, manifest, create and use the universe the way it's meant to be used. You're going to create amazing things using flow. You'll also open and expand your empathic intuition. After doing this for a number of years, I can tell you MI schoolers make strides and hit goals way beyond what they think they're going to be able to do. Going in over and over. You don't have to be a superstar going in because that's what we're going to turn you into once you get there. If you're ready to go big, if you know you need to deepen your spiritual practice and your personal growth, then this is where you need to be. Your life, after all, only grows as big as you do. So MI School is online. That means you'll connect with me me from all over the world. What to do next? Click or swipe on over to Flow dreaming dot com. You'll see an area that talks about me school. During enrollment, you can set up a free 20 minute call with me. And during weightless times, I invite you to send me a note telling me about your interest. Okay, I look forward to hearing from you and even more to getting to know you as one of my personal students in MI School. Now let's get back to the episode. Welcome back to Flow Dreaming. I think we're about ready to go to calls. Let's talk with Ross. Southern California. Hey, Ross, how are you?
Hi, Summer.
Hi. Who can I help you with?
I talked to you about a year ago, and I was saying that I had been with a company for about 15 years and was trying really hard to get a promotion. And you had said to try not to, you know, limit your abundance to any specific, you know, specific thing. And, you know, if you have mastery of your. Your craft, you know, it'll. It'll come. And unfortunately, or at least in the short term, I was. I was laid off from my job about a week or so ago.
Okay.
And there's just so much anxiety. Although, you know, I've always been a high performer, so I expect that I will continue to be a high performer. But, you know, I was hoping that maybe you could look into my flow and see if there's any blocks or anything that needs to be removed to, you know, open the path to something even better.
So, Ross, what kind of work did you have or are you looking for? Give me your field.
Well, I'm in television, but I've done work in all kinds of different media, so it doesn't need to be in any specific thing. I've done things in home video, things in theatrical. I've always been good at just figuring out whatever somebody needed and just, you know, gone from there.
Okay. Okay. And you live here in SoCal, which is the media and film and TV center centerpiece.
Yeah.
Okay. All right. So you're working behind the scenes. Correct. You're not working as an actor, Correct.
I'm behind the scenes.
Behind the scenes. Ras. Ross. Ross. Ross. Ross. Well, this is very interesting and kind of odd. I feel like there is a powerful woman or a very high profile or glamoury, glitzy, look at me. Kind of woman who's popping up very big around you right now. I'm trying to figure out if she's something that's upcoming.
There's a side thing that I've always, you know, not always been the last year. Have started to look into about being a kind of doing a side thing as like a parenting guru. And I wonder if there's just some kind of maybe feminine energy related to that. I mean, I don't know. You know, there could be. There's powerful women.
I don't know. Yeah, powerful women all around you. Well, I don't feel that this. She's not a parent type person. She. She's more like a glamorous person, a television person, a businesswoman. She's Got that feel. I just feel like maybe this is an opportunity that you'll be introduced to, to be working, you know, surrounding as a support person for something that has a powerful woman at the center, just because it feels close to you. It doesn't feel like the parenting thing, though, as much as I'd like to say yes to that. So look for that.
That was something for the future. I really wasn't looking to jump right into that.
Yeah, yeah. So let me ask another question of flow, not of you. I just want to see if this is going to be a long transition for you or if something will come around relatively quickly and if this is the right direction for you to continue to go in. Okay, so I'm just going to go ask your flow this toward. Just see what's out there. It's like standing on the horizon, looking. Yes, I see that lady and all of her gold sparkles over to the side. Okay. You. You know, I think by March, which I guess isn't very far away, March, April, you will have some very strong bites or leads, or perhaps you'll be putting your hand in a project. It's possible, too, that you might be putting your hand in a couple of projects, like a couple of smaller things, as opposed to having, you know, one position for one big thing. Right. I'm feeling like there's these multiple little things. Two or three little things.
Yeah, Some consulting type things. But it's amazing. While you're talking to me, I feel the energy come through the top of my head and spread through my body. I haven't felt that before. It's amazing.
That's because I'm in looking all around you and for you. I don't know why. I just feel like I need to look ahead. I really need to see what's there for you. I don't often do as much feature work as this, but for whatever reason, you need to hear it and be aware of it. So continue the direction you're in. It feels good. I think it's not going to be as long as you think if you say no to these things, then you'll pull back and it could take longer. We could be looking more into the summertime, but I really feel that by March, April, you will have something or several things. And when the sparkly glamour lady comes by, I would definitely hitch. Hitch your wagon. Hit your wagon to her, because she's. She's going to be off in some really nice direction. All right.
Okay.
You're welcome, Russ, and you're so welcome and good Luck with that. You take care.
Thank you. Bye. Bye.
Bye. Well, that was fun. Very interesting. Oh, we have time. Time, time. How about Sheila from Atlanta? Hey, Sheila. Sheila, are you there? Did we lose you? It's possible. Maybe we do. All right, we'll try Diane then. Diane, you there? Sheila or Diane? Hello? Hello? Anyone there? I guess not. Okay, well, we'll just keep going then until we can bring them online. And going to tap out a little note to my producer. Tap, tap. Okay, so while we're working to get them, a few more things that I thought I would share about myself. You know, I've always been very empathic, right? That's something that's run in my family for many, many generations. In fact, gosh, with Ross, we just got a little. Little example of it, little sample of it. This means that I've kind of gotten very used to, perhaps I even take it for granted, the ability to look inside other people's minds and feelings, to look into their flow and see it spread out before them. Like I described to Ross, it's looking at the horizon. And I use this not just with my own students and clients, but I use it in my own life as well. So interestingly, to go back to the last six months for me, you know, I obviously, I'd be wanting to look into my own future empathically and ask, am I cured? Right. Where is this going? Will I have to go through this again? Now, this is something that I teach when I obviously am teaching this. This portion of me school. When you are reading flow and reading people and reading energies and reading minds, the more distance you have, the more clear you see, right? So reading Ross for me is easy. I don't know him. I have no preconceptions about him. I only know his first name and that he's a man and he lives in Southern California. I mean, the very little to go on. But someone like myself, well, I know myself intimately, and therefore I have a lot of thoughts built up about myself. The more that you have thoughts built around yourself of who you are, of what you're like and so on, the harder it is to see clearly, right? The harder it is for you to really know. So when you're developing your own empathic self, your own empathic ability, be aware that it's much easier to read for a stranger than it is for a friend. It's much easier to read for a friend than it is for yourself. Right? You are your own biggest obscuring agent. So when I'm asking, am I going to be Healthy, what will happen for me? What should I do next? It's not in my best interest to try and look forward, right? To try and look into the future. Because what I'm looking at is obscured by all my own fears, doubts, hopes, dreams, wants. And the accuracy oftentimes goes down. What you do instead, in this case, and this is a little tip, I guess it's what I've been doing is I just go purely into my preaction, right? I go purely into flow. And in flow instead, what I'm feeling is I am well, I'm getting the best treatment. I'm making all the best choices. My body loves me. I love my body. We have such a long journey to go with each other. This is what I'm feeling, right? I'm creating this feeling state all through me. This is my flow dreaming. I'm going into flow and creating this sensation. Feeling, feeling, feeling. So instead of looking ahead and asking and waiting and hoping to know something, instead I'm doing something even more powerful. I'm creating, I'm manifesting, I'm becoming, right? And now there is no wall between me and this feeling. There's nothing that obscures me or this feeling. There's no preconceptions I have about myself obscuring this feeling. I am this feeling. Do you get it? Do you see the nuance here? I'm drawing or I'm creating for you. So flow dreaming ends up becoming something that you can use anytime, all the time. Even if you're not intuitive, even if you're not psychic. It's actually preferable that you use flow. Dreaming that you use your flow when you're creating. When you have a question about something like, you know, your health or cancer or even a job loss, right? Another way I could have, you know, worked with Ross was to say, go into your flow right now. Create the feeling. Oh, my gosh. I am. I am just in love with my work. I have fallen into the very best thing ever. This is clearly my next step. I am so excited. I love this. And paid so well. Wow, this is just shaping up. I am so glad I was laid off. Hallelujah. I was laid off because now I allowed me made a guess which I never would have stumbled into or found or done or saw. Wow, right? That's so effective. Okay, let's see. Ah, my goodness. Break time again. Okay, quickie, little break, get back and I will see if I can't reach Sheila or Diane again. And if I can, you'll get to hear and see a little Bit more about how all this works and if not, we're going to go into a Flow dream together. I think we have time for a quick, quick, quick, quick call. Let's see, do we have Sheila yet? Sheila. Sheila.
Hello.
Hi, Sheila. How are you?
I'm very happy to hear from you.
Good. Did you hear me calling your name? Yes.
And I was shouting back at the.
Phone and there was nothing. So sorry. All right. What can I help you with today?
Okay, I have been. I started learning guitar about a year and a half ago and I've been really stuck on trying to practice. I've learned a few songs, but I'm really. You still there?
Yep, I'm here.
Okay.
Anyway.
I'm kind of stuck on it. Trying to. Trying to practice has just been really hard and trying to figure out, is this an internal block or an external block?
Oh, okay. What's your purpose of learning guitar? Why are you doing it?
My purpose? I would like to write songs and perform them and play in front of people. It's also sort of a, you know, therapy for some mental illness issues I have.
Okay, so you're using it really to express yourself creatively, obviously, in terms of you want to play for other people, but you're also using it to heal yourself.
Yes.
Yeah. Okay. So that's why I asked, right. Because there's so many different reasons that you can pick up an instrument. So you're trying to heal yourself, you're trying to play, you're trying to allow yourself to be unblocked, essentially. Feeling the energy, feeling your flow pour out of you, rather than asking, you know, what is it that's holding me back? Because that's a. That's a question that can get you into what I call head spin. You know, it's a mental space where you go round and round and it actually. It's like screwing a bottle cap on. The more you spin it, the tighter it becomes. So. Yeah, exactly. What I will suggest instead is that you do this when you're thinking about playing guitar. You go ahead and create this feeling state inside yourself first. Right. It could take just two minutes before you do it. You're closing your eyes and you're breathing deeply. You're just going to go into flow for a moment and you're going to feel the sensation of how you are just releasing yourself, unlocking yourself, as if there were a wave of energy just like an ocean wave coming into the shore. There's a wave of energy that's moving through you, pouring out of you, and it's coming out of your arms, it's coming out through your fingertips. And this wave of energy wants to express itself. It wants to pluck at the strings and strum. It wants to sing, it wants to feel. It wants to just hear whatever sounds or music will come out and you might recognize. Oh, sometimes it's not the sound I want. I'm still learning. And that's okay, too. Just let your fingers, let your hands, let your whole body just emote the feeling before you even think about what chords am I playing, what words am I writing to it? Before you think about the structures or any of it, this little process, it's kind of like a. It's like a creative unblocking. It's something that a writer would do before they sit down to start working on Their novel each morning. You're just doing it with a guitar instead. All right, I'd like to see you practice that. Try that. And this is a way of physically, emotionally moving the energy. Even if you don't know where or how it got stuck, you can still move it. Does that make sense?
It does.
All right. It does.
Thank you very much.
You're welcome, Sheila. So practice that. And you might notice that what comes up is you start to process, right? Things will come up, emotions will come out that may surprise you, and that's because this is what you're doing. You're healing, right? You're healing through this process. You're healing through the creativity. So let it all come up and out. All right. Thank you for your call today. Take care. Good subject. Unusual. It gives me an opportunity to kind of give out some other techniques and processes I use that you don't hear so often, because I get some unique and different questions, and I love that. Gosh. I think it might be time for our flow dream, because we've only got about seven, eight minutes. So it's either a call or a flow dream, and I think we're going to do a flow dream. All right. So sorry if I wasn't able to get to you. I know, Diane, I had tried. But next time. Next time or stick. Stick around, because right after this show airs live, the dirvina show also will air. Okay? So when we flow dream, it is not meditation. It's not creative visualization. This is my usual preface. It's not self hypnosis. It is something very different and extraordinary. It's something that is a combination of several elements that, when put together, yield this amazing experience. So the elements are guided daydreaming, right? This is you letting yourself relax and release into a daydream. Just letting go into the daydream. In fact, as I describe it, I can already feel myself going into that state, taking a nice deep breath, and my shoulders are dropping. It's sort of automated, automatic for me. Now, when I daydream, I'm usually drifting off into something that I care about that I'm curious about, that my mind wants to work out. In a normal daydream. This happens without me really paying attention, knowing it. Right. It happens while you're driving or while you're showering or sometimes when you're staring at your computer screen and realize your mind has been someone else for the last someone. See, that's my problem. My mind has been in someone else. It has been somewhere else for the last, you know, 10 minutes. Well, in flow dreaming, you stay with your daydream. As you guide it, you begin to direct what you're imagining. In other words, you make it up. You make it up. Make up what your flow looks like, make up how it feels. You hear me describe it often as a river of light or a flowing pathway. I'm just making it up. I'm activating my emotion, activating my, my, my visuals, activating my imagination. Because if I start by doing that, at some point it's going to become natural and I will just be there and I'll forget that I've been making it up in my imagination. Just like in a regular daydream, right? You start to see things and think of things and see people's faces and you're not trying to do it just happens. So in flow dreaming, you make up that daydream, but you never let go of it. You never end up just forgetting what you're doing. You stay conscious with it the whole way. So you bring these visuals in if you want. They are not necessary. They're not mandatory, by the way. What is mandatory is emotion, right? Feeling. I feel something, I see something, but I feel it even more. Well, what are you going to feel? Why would you feel it? Flow. The medium of the universe, right? The stuff, the energy that the cosmos is made of that the spiritual realm, as they call it, is made of, that the quantum state is made of. It's just energy. It's information. Your emotion is an information and energy as well, right? You walk into a room where people are tense. Do you even need to look at them or do you already feel it? Do we just know? Oh, there's a tense emotion here. We know emotion travels. Emotion is not locked inside of you. Emotion, the feeling state is created as much as anything else. You can't see it, but you can't see an X ray either. It's there. So you go into this guided daydream and you bring up your emotion. Where are you doing this? Why does this, this make it any different than creative, you know, visualization? Ah, you go into flow. You go into the recognition, you go into the awareness, you bring it up inside you. Flow is the state of being that I'm in as I move forward in my life, as I travel through time, through space. Every second that ticks by is a flow of energy, a flow of experience. I am a being in constant motion. I am growing. I am moving into my next step, my next second. The last hour we've been together, we have flowed through it. And you will flow through the next hour ahead. And this flow of light and energy and being that you are is also being experienced by every other creature on this Earth, as well as the Earth, as well as our. Our solar system, as well as our galaxy. And we are all intermingling and we're all coming together and sharing and overlapping. Now, this flow state is so potent because this is where everything is being put together or it's being planned. And you move into this flow state and if it's still throat, you don't worry about it. I've written a whole book about it. You can read that and find out more. You go into the flow state and you feel and you daydream and so you close your eyes and we'll just touch the state for a second right now, just feel it for a moment. Eyes are closed and you're relaxed. And here you look at your future unwinding like a golden ribbon in front of you, rolling out before you. All of the hours and days and weeks, there they are. They're all yours. And they're coming up for you. And you're going to be in them and you're going to be moving through them and they're going to be filled with all kinds of things for you. They're already going to be. They're already being put together. Do you see that? There's no lacking here. They're already being filled up with experiences and people and, and. And yeses and nos. And you're stepping into them every moment. Abundant, rich and full. Your days, your hours are all abundant, rich and full. What will be in these days and hours? What exactly will be filling them? Well, that's all according to who you are, are. Can you feel that? Your ideas, your heart, your soul, your thoughts, your plans, the dates you've made, the intentions you've set, the actions you're taking. That's what it's filled with. That's where you work in daydream and create and become in your flow. So there we are. You can open your eyes. And that's it. What an unusual show we've had today. Thanks for being with me. I just thought I'd try it and see what you guys thought. Let me know. Drop me a note. Summerlowdreaming.com Love to hear from you until next week. Take care and enjoy your flow. Dreaming.
