So my huge thanks and sparkles and flow go to all of you who just take that few moments to go write a quick little message of telling other people. This is good. Go listen. Thanks. Now off we go to the show. Welcome to Flow Dreaming. Hi, everybody, it's Summer. Ready to spend some time with you. Opening up your consciousness, opening up your mind. You know, more and more I've noticed that Flow Dreaming through the years has. Has shifted toward a mindset style program. Just as Flow Dreaming itself. I never knew there was a term for it, but apparently it's all the rage. It's mindset, meaning how you think, right? That's the essence of mindset. And all of you who are in the coaching world, your little ears are perking up saying, oh, I know what she's talking about. The inner game is another word for it. It's how you play, right? How you play in life. And Flow Dreaming has sort of grown up with this understanding that we play in life through action and we play in life through pre action. We play in life through physical. We play in life through non physical. And this program, the show is about the balance between the two, creating maximum effect in your life. Like, what is it when you get it just right, Just right. And we all recognize that we know what, that there's a name for it. I didn't Even make it up, right? It's called flow. I didn't make that up. Of course you know that. But the flow state. Flow psychology recognizes that there is a mindset and a physical set. It's all rolled into one. Your body and your mind, your physical everything called flow. And it's your optimal state. It is where doors open, everything is easy, the breakthroughs just tumble forth from you, where everything works out your way, where you feel good, where there's no resistance and no friction. And this is a state that we can reach not just by accident, but through intention, through a kind of conscious molding of ourselves toward this state over time. Doesn't happen overnight. Can't it happens over time? It happens because at some point we say to ourselves, I need to shift how I'm thinking. I need to shift how I'm feeling. I need to shift how I'm reacting. I need to shift what I'm anticipating. And when we reach that understanding that we don't really have any other choice but to do that shift. And I know some of you have reached that point. You just. You're pressed up against that final wall of your life and you say, I don't have a choice at this point. I have to try this. I have to go there. Everything else I've done is either not working or it's brought me to this stuck point again, or I'm going in circles or whatever it may be. I must change. This is where for so many of us, flow dreaming has stepped into our lives because we've committed. I want to interact differently with myself and with the universe. And if I'm doing that, I will just as a matter of course, start interacting differently with my family and all the other relationships and physical things around me. This is what I'm a devotee of. And you guys, my team, my tribe. So are you. You've come this way. So today I wanted to focus on the topic of beginner mind. Right? What is that shift? What is that point? How does it feel to be open, exposed, ready to be a student? What does student energy feel like and how we all need to be in it? All of us masters need to be students. Students need to be masters. And this is. It's an esoteric topic, and I'm going to possibly stumble my way through it, but I'm going to try and help you see how everything is a yin and yang. Everything is this balance, including master and student mastery and student energy inside of us. All right, so housekeeping, I would love for you, if you love this program. I think I already mentioned it in the beginning to go and either subscribe to it on itunes or to get the app. It's on your mobile device. You can find it at the Android Store, Amazon, Google Apps, itunes, of course, download it and rate it. And if you want to kind of pay it forward, that's what you can do. Thank you. Like, oh, this show was cool. I will do something. Ta da. That's your payment easy. But it really does help the podcast and I'm going to be focusing on making some changes to my podcast in the months ahead. That would be very, very helpful to me. So I'd appreciate it. That's it for housekeeping. Just that one little request and I'll just tell you in advance. I love you. All of you who do that. I just love you. Thank you. So, beginner mind. I've been feeling beginner mind a lot lately, right? I felt beginner mind when I went into cancer and had to go into such a deep healing, go into a world that was brand new to me, bring my own flow philosophy, flow way of thinking, flow mindset into that world. I have had to go into beginner mind constantly. Even now that I'm on the other side of cancer, which was just, by the way, a few months ago when I finished my treatment for breast cancer. I'm entering another phase of beginner mind in my life and I can feel it and I can tell. So what does this mean? Buddhists, of course, kind of, I think, perhaps coined the term, made the term beginner mind. And flow dreaming is not Buddhism, right? Just laying it out there. So my beginner mind is going to be very different than what you may have already been taught or learned. For me, beginner mind embodies a set of emotional characteristics that I remind myself to open up to so that I can be in that state with a kind of awareness. So some of these characteristics, right, are how you feel as a student. It's an acknowledgement of what that student mind feels like, but it's also the characteristics that you can use to really get enriched in that state of mind. Beginner mind says there is something that I need to know that I don't already know, that I need to learn, develop, perceive, or expand into you following. It's all it is just that awareness. What that means is beginner mind acknowledges I know the known world around me. I know I have quote unquote mastery to a degree, or at least familiarity with all of the known stuff. But there is something I don't yet know and if you're on a track for growth in your life, if that's one of your guiding principles. I'm always trying to grow myself, right? And growing myself doesn't mean passing tests for some higher ups up in heaven. Growing yourself means there are things that I want to feel inside. I want to feel a greater sense of power. I want to feel a greater sense of self assurance. I want to feel a deep self love. I want to feel vulnerable and open and intimate and authentic with every person I meet. I want to not be in doubt about myself, right? These are all growth goals. And the upshot of every one of them, at least in my case, is so I can feel more filled with joy, happier, freer, have fewer days where I experience negativity and more days where I feel like God, I love to be alive. I love that I have this opportunity to create here, right? So that's like my goal, that's my understanding of growth. And if that translates to me being a better person or a better wife or a better mother, or a better teacher or a better student, a better citizen of this planet, so be it. I think it probably will. But I expect that to be kind of the outward ripple effect of doing those things for my own interior self. So when I am in that student mind phase, a bunch of stuff comes up inside me and I think probably it will come up inside to you. Students are often confused, right? I know I'm in student mind when I'm experiencing confusion. I don't get it. Well, of course you don't get it. You don't know it yet. That's okay. And once I realize that, I go, oh, I don't have to get upset that I'm confused. I don't have to feel wrong about being confused, like I should already get it already. No, students are confused. They haven't been exposed, they haven't absorbed it, they haven't mastered it. Of course, confusion is part of the energy. Ah, okay. Students are also often wrong. They're wrong, meaning I'm often wrong when I'm in student mind and I want to be wrong. I want to be wrong in the very best possible way. Because if I'm right, it means I've mastered it. If I'm wrong, it means I've identified something that's ready to be up leveled. And I'm always trying to find that point. What can be up leveled? What parts am I wrong about? If I find all the parts in myself that I hold wrong understandings, imagine what would happen if all of those were Broken through, righted, changed up, leveled, expanded. I would change marvelously. All those wrong things that would be holding me would be freedom. I would be in flow, I'd be flowing. If I'm holding a wrong thing, I'm treading water. So when I'm in a student mind, I place myself in a position of being oftentimes wrong. Sometimes it's really hard to get myself to feel wrong about something because I've invested a lot in it, makes sense to me. But I still take my understandings, I take my perceptions and I set them aside and I say, I'm going to listen and hear what this other person says, what this other teaching is, even if it conflicts with my own. I'm going to be wide open to theirs and I will assess later. But when I'm in beginner mind, I am open and putting my own elsewhere. And I often discover afterwards that my own stuff actually had a lot of baggage attached to it. You guys ever, you know, done those exercises where you take loaded words like God is a loaded term? It's why I so rarely use it. Yet this is a deeply spirit focused show because God has been loaded up in us with a lifetime of associations. Your parents gave you understandings, your, your family, your. Your heritage, your culture, your. Your, your nation. They all gave you these loaded understandings of God, not to mention the church and the people you knew who you thought were supposed to be godly. Maybe they weren't and then it negatively tinted it. So when I take you into flow, I don't say God. I don't want to have to repeal decades of your understanding of that loaded term. I want you to come in with beginner mind and when I say flow, you say, what's that? And you see, I have you. Then you're in a beginner open state. You have nothing behind that term or very little. You don't even need to be wrong about God because I've just taken that off the table. Students are often stubborn, stubborn. You guys are really stubborn. I know because I'm teaching mi school right now and you can't help it. You're asking me as a master to dislodge something in you. And you often want to stubbornly hold on to those things and make my job harder, dislodging it in you. Why are you holding it so stubbornly, student? That is counter to your desire to learn right. You don't need to be right, you need to be wrong. That means you don't need to be stubborn, you need to be in flow. But it's okay because it's a characteristic. It's a trait that often comes up as a student. It's one, however, that we kind of do want to learn through. Students are often also frustrated, right? That's a natural feeling. You're going into something that you don't have mastery over yet. Of course you're frustrated. Of course you want it yesterday. Of course you don't like feeling that you don't yet have mastery. It's normal. Is it a way of being that you always want to stay in again? No. You want to release that frustration. You want to say to yourself, I let go of this feeling of frustration. I acknowledge divine timing. It's okay if I don't have it yet. Which reminds me, students are often comparing themselves. Why would I compare my divine timing to your divine timing? That doesn't make much sense, does it? Divine timing implies we all get what we need when we need it. We are all on an individual track of expansion, self awareness, and we're all choosing wildly different experiences to propel us along that track. If I'm comparing myself to you, I'm assuming your track and my track have become somehow identical. That's a wrong comparison to make. Let go of that. In beginner mind, you release comparison. You release frustration, you release being stubborn, and you say yes to being wrong. And you are accepting of being confused. You following this is a state. I'm sure there are more, but these are the ones that I was musing on. You're kind of getting one of these podcasts where I'm riffing on a topic, but it became really interesting to me because I was realizing these are things I'm feeling. What state am I in? Ah. I'm in beginner mind. Ah. Why am I in beginner mind? And I began to look at my life, and I realized somehow my life is shifting me into a new area of knowledge. And here are the things I'm feeling. This is cueing me into this, right? I wouldn't be able to identify that I'm in a beginner mind state if I hadn't experienced all of these things. They were what showed me. You get it. So I'm not angry that I've experienced any of these things. I'm grateful. Oh, you told me something. You showed me something. Remember how I've been saying for years, every emotion has its purpose? Even anger, even frustration, even bitterness, even sadness. Every emotion is a gift inside of you. If you plan on being joyful and happy your whole life, you can't say I never want to feel a negative thing again. Negative things are telling you where not to go. I appreciate that feedback all the time. Please don't let me go there. If I didn't have those negative responses, I would be wandering into yucky mucky messes all the time. The key is I don't stay in those negative spaces. I say thank you. Thank you. I will turn from that direction now. You guys following? So here I am in beginner mind in my life. I want to talk for a second about mastery because some of you are saying, what do you mean, Summer? You seem like you're in mastery. I'm in both. You're in both. We're all in both. Let's see, how do I explain this up? Leveling is about constantly being in beginner mind because you're entering these areas that you haven't been in before. Right. We often have a misperception that upleveling is about mastery, but it's also about beginner mind because you are going into something you haven't experienced before. You're increasing, you're growing. You're doing something bigger than where you've been. Do you see how you're in both states? Let's just say that mastery is about sustaining what you've already built. Mastery is about sustaining what you've already built. So mastery sustains, but beginner mind builds. There. That's another way of looking at it. So I have mastered things to a certain extent, but in order to grow bigger from those things I've mastered, I have to go back into beginner mind. Now, I don't leave either, right? I don't let go of either. I am simultaneously in both. This is directly reflective of the pattern that we exist in in this universe. Meaning Yin Yang, light, dark, negative, positive, physical, non physical. Hope. I'm not cutting out here. I hear a little scratchiness in my. My headphones. So I'll repeat that. Beginner mind and mastery are the same dichotomy as yin and yang, light and dark, past and future, all of it. Okay, where am I at here? Sorry. Sometimes when I'm really musing in these deeper waters, it takes me a moment. So in a state of beginner mind, my challenge is that I don't want to feel critical or insecure, competitive, envious. Right. When I'm learning, I have to set all of that aside and I have to say to myself, there's a chunk of wisdom that I want to receive and I'm wide open. I'm wide open to it. I'm open to being wrong, having my expectations changed, learning a different method, and I'm feeling this wide open receptivity to my goal. So when I'm learning, for instance, from another spiritual teacher as I need to be so I can continue growing, I have to get into beginner mind so I can hear them. If I'm not in beginner mind, I can't hear them because my mastery mind is filtering everything they say. I'm hearing them with an agenda. My own knowledge gets in a way, and I've noticed this in myself, that I have to purposely place myself in the state where I can hear them. Where I can hear them. Once I hear them, once I absorb, then I take it in. And then my mastery self gets to say, huh? I sustain you. Did what you learned just grow you did it grow us? And then if I'm lucky, what I've learned evolves into something I master. You get it? It's a cycle. It's a cycle that we're in. Mastery, beginner mind. Mastery, beginner mind. Mastery, beginner mind. Yet we're also in both states at once in our life. All right, think on that. And you know what? I'm going to give you actually a little exercise before we go to a quick break. And here's the exercise. I want you to look at two areas of your life right now, and I want you to tell yourself. Tell me. Tell yourself. Are you in beginner mind there, or are you in mastery? Or are you in both? And if so, what percentage play with this, all right? Just put it into effect and something in your life and let me know. All right, we're going to a quick break when we get back. Hey, it's summer again. Yes. We're on break, but I wanted to share some important stuff with you about. About the hugely amazing and gorgeous ME School of Flow. Right now, it's either enrolling or it's accepting names onto the wait list. This means that I'm accepting students that I work with personally over the year ahead. And I teach you to do what I do, how to think, how I think, how to work with flow, manifest, create and use the universe the way it's meant to be used. You're going to create amazing things using flow. You'll also open and expand your empathic intuition. After doing this for a number of years, I can tell you MI schoolers make strides and hit goals way beyond what they think they're going to be able to do. Going in over and over. Okay, I look forward to hearing from you and even more to getting to know you as one of my personal students in MI School. Now let's get back to the episode. Hi everybody. Welcome back. Sitting here drinking my matcha tea, green matcha tea, thinking maybe this is what's putting me in such a Zen dick mood. Buddhist beginner mind mood. Okay, I hope that gave you guys something to think on. And you know, for me, I just wanted to give you an insight into the energy state of beginner mind versus mastery mind and how they interplay in our life. And it's instructive to know this not just for some, you know, esoteric, oh, that's kind of cool to understand, but it really can have a direct impact in your life. Like I said, I noticed that I was having feelings of confusion and some frustration and I was like, what is this connected to? Oh my goodness. I'm in a beginner mind state right now. I'm awake now. I'm aware of this phase of life that I'm apparently entering or more deeply entering, right. That I'm being shifted toward. And for me, being aware, you know, at that greater, that higher level really is helpful because I can put so much more in context. I'm not wondering, why is this happening? Why is that happening? I'm like, oh, of course it's happening. Because I'm in beginner mind. Beginner mind means I'm going to have teachers and people who are going to start challenging my thinking and I will have to lay aside my mastery so that I can receive their understanding. And I don't know to what end all of this will be, but I just know it's part of my life. I cycle through this and usually when I understand something deep enough, then I go into mastery and then I start teaching that and that sustains and sustains while I move into Another place of beginner. This isn't just me. This is you. Right? This is you at work. When you're saying, I've mastered this, I've mastered this, why do I feel bored and frustrated and this and that? Because life is telling you it's time to get in beginner mind again. Are you going to embrace that or are you going to resist that? Right? This is you and your in your marriage or your partnership. Right? I'm. I'm feeling like I've mastered this. We're just, you know, it's on, just autopilot. Ah. Maybe it's time to get in beginner mind again. Maybe it's time to look fresh, be wrong. Feel that stubbornness going away. Feel that openness. Beginner mind, it's heralding your next growth cycle. It's heralding it. Take it. This is what you work for, right? We're all working for working toward more beginner mind because it means we've just grown. Right? Isn't that cool? So get comfortable with beginner mind. Okay. All right, let's run over here and take a call. I think we have Nicole from Guatemala. Nicole, you really calling from Guatemala?
Yes, in Antigua.
Ooh, beautiful. Beautiful. I love it.
I'm so happy to call you. I've been listening for a while, so this is just great. This is great.
Ooh, love it. Okay, what can I.
Well, I really enjoy this today. More specifically about this beginner versus mastery mindset. And I took on a bit of a beginner mindset just recently traveling the world, and I just up and left my job, and it's been a couple months, I've been traveling, and I'm starting a new career for myself, and I seeing all of the signs of beginner student fusion, I am hoping a lot of times I am wrong. I know I'm stubborn and I'm frustrated and I'm caring a lot. But in terms of divine timing, manifesting both money and love and a decent career and stability and all of the things that my foe I'm telling my clothes to bring to me. I understand there's some squeezing, but I just. I want to make sure that I know, I feel it. I absolutely know I'm on the right path. But in terms of divine timing, I'm getting kind of tired, man. I'm tired. So when I'm testing, sometimes it doesn't come through. I being sitting on things or I want money or don't want. I want these things, but I'm not sure what going on.
Yeah. So are you referring Then just to your career.
No.
Okay.
In terms of money as well. I was supposed to get a lot of money. It didn't come through. The response that I waited too long. But at the time, I was not. I was not sure what to do. Did I want to hire somebody to help me or was it something I felt like I could do myself? Writing a book, it's taking a really long time and I want to get it done like you said yesterday.
And.
Finding a good land just to settle. But I want to learn so much. So there's just a lot.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Okay. So really what you're talking about is you've been in a period of transition, right? An upheaval. That is what you leaving your job, saying, I'm done with what I've mastered. I'm going into beginner mind in all aspects of my life. Put something new together for me, please. And now you're getting kind of itchy. Meaning, all right, I said I committed to this. Why is it taking so long? How come it's not happening? What else do I need to do, right? I see this often when students are starting to. I call it like, you know, it's like picking a fight with divine timing. You know, you're not doing what I want you to do when I want you to do it. And divine timing says, if you just trust, we will get you there. And so the whole thing then becomes an exercise in trust. And, you know, you don't recognize it at the time often, but that trust is the same trust you're going to use again and again and again as you go forward into all these other up levelings in your life. But the first one you have to get through is trust. And the trust is divine timing. You really do trust. So here's what you do. Then after that, after that, it's funny, I was just teaching a class this morning about inspired action. Whenever I'm feeling that I'm doing everything right, I'm in a great mindset, but I'm not seeing what I want to see. Yet. I say to my flow, okay, I've been preacting, I've been flow dreaming. I've been doing all that I need to do. I'm waiting for the next set of actions to lead me closer. But I know there's already a set of actions in front of me that I can take, right? Because I believe in an abundant universe. And that abundant universe doesn't make me wait for stuff that I need. It already has given it to me just in my Mastery mind. I'm not recognizing it, my beginner mind, I say, oh, maybe this is what I need to do next. So I go on a kind of inspired action binge, and I do a lot, and then I allow all of these different things that I'm doing to kind of shake out and start leading me. It's like, you know, a path emerges once you take enough action. Okay, so your action has been to travel and to do things, but maybe your action has been exploratory. Maybe you need to start getting into committed action. Right? Just picking something and going with it.
And it's funny you should say that. I both again, in mastery and begin mindset and reading the Untethered soul and using all of the lessons that I've learned with Flow dreaming. Yeah, it doesn't matter where I am. I told myself at least one month. So I'm staying here in Guatemala and I'm moving forward towards action. But again, I'm feeling not so much. I'm feeling a little pressure. I keep listening to that family, that family podcast you just saw, the Family Dynamics and the External, and just asking myself, listen, I've committed to this trip. I am not going back until a book is finished.
And.
Why manifesting is so easy, why is it becoming a little difficult for me? Just a little bit of money, why is it difficult now?
So at this point, start playing with your action, right? If your goal is to finish the book and to stay there the month until it's done, then you're going to be sitting down for four hours a day and you're going to be writing. And if you're not writing for three to four hours in a day, you're going to ask yourself, why am I stopping? What's stopping me? What's going on inside that I cannot do this? It's like you have to keep progressing these questions, keep progressing them, push yourself with the action and then progress through that. Are you writing three to four hours a day?
Yeah, I write every single day. But I felt resistance. And I asked myself, I took some time to see what's going on there, and I realized it was that I was not being completely vulnerable now. Digging, and I'm digging more and I'm digging more, and what areas can I be more vulnerable this month? I am so unhappy in this location. Like, I'm ready to just up and leave, but still traveling. And I told myself, one month, one month, I needed to be in her water.
But one, right? Yeah, Yeah, I feel you're on the Eat, Pray, Love journey. You should have picked Italy. I mean, Guatemala. No, I'm kidding. Guatemala is a great place. Yeah.
My nature species. So once I get there. Yeah.
All right, Nicole, so I'm just going to leave you with this feeling. I think you are showing yourself what it means to feel committed. That's why you're staying, right? You're trying to create the commitment energy inside of yourself. You're creating accountability energy inside yourself by sitting down and writing. You are recognizing, I have frustration because I'm not sure what this all is heading toward. But as a student, I'm going to trust. Right. I've chosen life to be my master, to be my teacher right now. And I'm not going to be second guessing it, right? So you're just. You got to settle even more into that understanding. Okay. Really, I mean, it's hard to give you anything new to think of here because you're already doing it. You just need to be more comfortable in your doing it. You need to allow yourself to do it more in your mind. I don't know how to say that. Okay. You're gonna find yourself at the end of this journey, right? You will come back to it. But it may take several years to fully process and shake out. You know, it might be 2019 before you look back and say, I know exactly why I did that and I know exactly what it led to.
Mercy, Summer.
Okay, that's all right. Sometimes we like to chew on big things. It makes us feel good.
Yeah. Thank you so much. You are incredible. And I felt your strength even through your battles with cancer. And I felt how strong you were and to lead everybody else to watch me. And I'm going to help you, too. I love you so much.
Thank you.
Oh, thank you, my dear. Love you too. All right, take care. Let's see. I see Beth. Largo, Florida. Beth. Are you my regular Beth?
Yes, I am.
Hello, Beth. How are you?
Hello, Summer.
How are you?
Did you still. I know that you've said you've lost so much weight. What else is going on?
It's 95 now.
95. Oh, my gosh. I remember when you started at like 50, and I thought 50 was outrageously fabulous. Good going.
School still going good?
Yes.
I'm gonna be starting my volunteer with the kids probably in a couple weeks. And today I'm starting a part time job. I'm a friend of mine that I used to work where. She called me and said, do you want to come back to work? I said yes.
So if you could just.
I think everything's moving in the right way, but I'm still a little fearful and trusted. I'm not trusting myself. So can you look at my flow and make sure. Tell me what's blocking me.
What kind of work is this that you're going into? That's part time.
A retail clothing store. I worked for her a couple years ago and we've been friends and she knows I've been looking for work, so I can still do school and do the stuff with the kids.
Right? Right. Okay.
I want to make sure I'm on the right. I think I'm on the right path and I feel good. Oh, and I got to tell you, last Saturday I was in a fashion show and I was heading down to the store and these two young guys went past me and they go, hello, gorgeous. And I went like, I looked, didn't realize who they were talking to. And then it was like it was me.
I was like, oh, okay.
Well, that just shocked me. Poor madam.
We hate it when they make comments like that. But then sometimes it's like, oh, thank you. It's like they don't know.
I had to stop and think and.
Put a big smile on my face.
Because I realized they were talking to me.
Yes. All right. You know, here's what I feel right off the top with you. I don't think you're going to be working with your girlfriend for very long. This is not a long term thing. It's something that is in passing. Right. You're going to help her, she's going to help you. It's almost like you are digging into life more. You're saying to the world, I can take on more now. I've been focusing so much on this weight loss and on these other things inside myself in school, and now I'm feeling a shift and I can take on more. That's what you're doing with this job. It's going to feel kind of. I have a feeling it will feel. I don't want to say backward thinking, but you'll have that sense of, I've done this before, I've been here before. You know, I'm not maybe growing through this, but that's okay. Right. That's going to be part of what just kind of helps you move through. It's like you're using this like a jumping off point.
Because that's what I've been feeling, actually.
Jumping off point just to get me.
A little bit of money.
And that's.
I mean, I know this isn't going to be a permanent thing.
Nope.
Because once School's over then I'm going to be going into something full time. But I just wanted to make sure I was on the right track.
You are. And just say to your girlfriend, look, I'm going to help you out for as long as it's comfortable for both of us. And you know, just, just know that going in. And you know, I may be here three months or six months or nine months, or you may say you don't need me after six months. And we're going to go in with the understanding that we're absolutely fine with this. I trust that this is what I need to do. And it feels really good to me. You feel good to me. You feel good.
I'm thinking that too, and I'm feeling that. But I just. For some reason the trust and the fear keep coming up and I don't know why.
You're doing a marvelous job of self directing and I think sometimes you don't realize that how much you are, you know, you're self directing your growth right now. You're not in a program or a school, at least that I know of. You're, you're creating your own accountability for yourself. And this is a big thing and you've done very, very well with it. And it means that, you know, you're, you're kind of proving to yourself you can take on bigger and bigger things at this point, because you are. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Beth, thank you so much for calling in.
No problem.
I'll talk to you later.
Okay, love you. Bye. Bye. I'm wondering if we have time for one more, maybe a little short one. Paula, you're calling from Canada. Hello.
Hi, Summer.
It's nice to meet you.
You too.
Thanks for taking my call. I was just phoning in because I've had my own business for about six years and it's been quite successful. It's doing what I love. And the last year I have been flow dreaming and feeling break, having breakthroughs and feeling really excited about that. And yet I'm like, I'm going bigger and bigger yet I'm wondering if there's something. I don't know if I'm not sure if I'm doing everything I need to do or that there's some. I just wondered if you could look into my flow and see what I need to continue to shift or continue to work on, to continue to expand in my business that I love doing.
I would like to know specifically what you're doing in your business because right now it's very broad. I don't have any clue what you're actually doing.
Well, I have actually been a therapist for 20 years and then I started my own private practice about six years ago. And then just starting now to branch out online and reach a whole different kind of demographic of people and really like, really honing in on what. Even more of what I love to do and who I love to work with. And so it's kind of challenging me in a lot of ways.
And.
I feel like I'm going bigger and I'm getting support and help around that. But I just, you know, I was curious just because just getting into my flow and seeing, okay, where else do I need to. Where was my blind spots really? Maybe that's the question, like, what's my blind spot?
So the most obvious thing to me is I see you looking for, I'll call them, quote, bigger clients, for lack of a better way of saying it. It's like you're expecting to work with a. I don't know, it's a higher caliber of people or somehow the people you work with, you're kind of escalating them or who you're interacting with. And what I feel happening in you is there's, I hesitate to say insecurity, but there is a lack of security, there's a lack of. There's a feeling of, am I good enough? I'm going to hope I'm good enough, but am I good enough? That's a feeling that I feel. It's like an energy deep within you and I sense a little bit of conflict. It's kind of like if you were to walk into a room full of celebrities, would you feel comfortable sitting down at the table with them or would you say, no, they're over there and I'm over here. I'm not there yet. So if you're treating your clients like those celebrities, you've got to feel very comfortable walking in and treating them and leading them. Right? So, I mean, especially being that you're in therapy, I think you're probably like, what? But it's not to say you don't already have a great deal of self esteem or self awareness. It's that you have to escalate your understanding of your gifts, grow them. You are better than you know. Right? That's something I would start saying to myself, preacting I am better than I know. I know more than I think I know it is right for me to be moving on to these bigger types of situations, whatever those things are that you're looking at. You following this yeah, that makes sense for sure.
Yeah. Because yeah, I feel it deep in, you know, there is that insecurity or that stepping forward and going, oh, new, you know, is this.
Yes.
Do I have what it is, what I need? Am I equipped with it? Do I have the knowledge?
So as you are raising this clientele up to some other different level, your inner work is. I am very well equipped for this greater level. I'm very well equipped. I've spent years equipping myself for this. Right. It's like I've been playing lower than my ability.
Right, right.
I've been playing lower or playing smaller than my ability and now I'm going to move up and being in that strength, I think that's the main thing that I would guide you to do. And then all of your decisions and actions are going to flow out of that. The way that you price yourself, the way, you know, the kinds of people that you're contacting, all of it flows out of it. Okay, perfect. Awesome.
And is there a flow dream that you suggest?
Ooh, a flow dream for recognizing your skill, talent, ability. You know what? I do have one called so talented and successful. You might look at that. Right. Because that one does help you recognize I'm actually really, really, really, really good at this. Really good. Great. Okay. I would try that one. Okay.
Yeah.
Thanks so much.
Okay, bye.

You guys ready? Let's go into some flow. Right? So getting into the flow state using this technique is really, really, really simple. If you don't know how, go to my website. I have that kit will teach you how to flow dream. Right. It's an emotion that based practice. It relies on daydreaming and this awareness of flow energy which we talk about, you know, expansively on this program. So close your eyes with me and even if you don't know how, just go in. Just don't expect to meditate, okay? And I'm not hypnotizing you either. You are going to feel this. You're going to feel beginner mind. Deep breath in. Relaxing. We don't bring any body tension into this process. We let our body relax. We let our shoulders drop. We let our jaw release and relax. We let our brow relax. And we feel like we're a little paper boat, a child's boat. And this child has set us down and this small little pond. And we float. We float in the sunshine, in the breeze. We float and we flow. And we're moving, moving, moving, not even trying. We have no ability to direct. The current directs us. Our flow navigates. We move in the direction that is right and best for us. And soon we notice that this pond is not a pond. It's a lake. The lake is not a lake. It's a mighty ocean in the ocean. It's not an ocean. It's the flow of all life. The flow of time, the flow of our lives, the flow of everything. And we float with it. We move with it towards expansion and awareness and growth. We're part of this. We don't have to try. We don't have to make it. It's already surrounding us. It's the energy of life that we are part of. And we're recognizing our job is to Just be in this to drink from this. Like a plant that drinks from the soil, we drink from this. You feel yourself drinking from it. How do you drink from it? And you open your heart. You open to beginner mind. You feel yourself like a box, a cube. And all of the walls begin to unwrap, unlock, fall apart in the very best possible way. All the walls coming down, opening up. And there you are in the beginning, in the middle, in the center, in the heart. And you are saying, how can I hear this? How can I see this? How can I change from this? How can I grow from this? What can I know that I don't know? How can I hear this without any feelings of I know more or that's not right. How can I hear this? How can I experience this without saying I can do it better and wanting to jump in and steer? How can I just let myself experience what I'm being shown, what I'm being given, what I am? How can I. I feel that energy leaping up inside of me. Beginner mind. I receive, I accept, I hear. I have no prejudice, I have no expectations. I simply absorb and am. I grow in this new state. I'm humbled to be in this new state. State where all of this new information is. This new state is outside where I've been, outside of my mastery. And I am humbled and ready to be here because it is the place that leads to my next mastery, my beginner self, my beginner heart, my beginner mind. And with that, I stay in this energy even now as I open my eyes and return from flow. And there you have it. Hope you enjoyed that flow dream. I will see you all again, same time, same same place. My love to you all. Happy flow, dreaming. Well, look at that. Show's over. But before you go, did you know that my mom has a podcast, too? Her show airs live right after mine. It comes up next. We tape our live shows back to back. Her show is called the Dear Venus show, so stay listening and you can call it in or look it up live on itunes if you're listening via podcast.
