Flow Dreaming. It's a show where we talk about the power of your mind to change your world around you, to literally affect the fabric of your reality. We talk about this feeling of hope and joy and relief. And that is what being aware of your flow does. It gives you a feeling of power again in your lives. And that is what being aware of your flow does. It gives you a feeling of power again in your lives. Breathe. It is the feeling that you bring forward. It is your emotional connection that really sets the tone for what is going to be happening to you and for you. And you know that feeling when you touch it. It just spreads through you. I'm Summer McStravik and welcome to another episode of Flow Dreaming. Hi, it's Summer, and a quick request before we jump into the show if you like or even love what you're about to and the number one reason this show has gotten around and stays in the favorites in itunes and the App Store, it's because of your reviews. And we are in our 11th straight year because of you and your reviews. People rely on your opinion and frankly, they often misunderstand Flow Dreaming. And the only way to correct that is through you leaving a few words about the program. And I can't do it. I would if I could, but it has to be you. So if I've made any impact on your life at all, please support scoot over to itunes on your podcast app and either subscribe to Flow Dreaming or write a review of the show or the app, or both. And mega kisses for doing both. I'll send some good flow your way too. So pause the episode and do it now or just get onto the show. Welcome to the program. I'm Summer Mix Traffic and we are going to speak. Spend the next few minutes together getting deep into this idea of what an empathic intuitive experiences day to day, as well as how to keep yourself clean and clear and bright and bouncy instead of picking up everything else in the world that people are throwing at us every single day. So this topic may seem like it's a little deviating from our typical discussion of flow and consciousness and manifesting and connection, but really it's not. And I was looking back at my list of shows I've done over the last few years. I haven't really done one about empathic intuition in a while, so definitely worth a refresher and a reminder about how Flow Energy really, really works. So before we get too far in, I just wanted to mention if you haven't been to my website recently, please Take a look. It looks great. It's amazing. It had a recent makeover and very easy to find your way around. You can find all your listening options for this show there. You can also find the manifesting shop. All kinds of good stuff. All right, so empathic intuition is an understanding that we live in a universe of information, right? We are made of information. This is basic old hat stuff to a lot of you. We are made of bits of physical material and bits of non physical material. And everything that we ever do or experience is encoded or collected or inscribed or known. There are principles in physics that kind of very much mirror the same kind of understandings we play with in flow. Meaning that once something is known, it cannot be unknown. Meaning that if something is known in one place, it is known every place. Therefore, when we look at what flow is, we talk about it often in this program as a kind of stream or a river, something that is flowing towards your future. You also have to look at flow as being everything that the universe is made of, the fabric of the universe. Because everything known is part of flow. Everything that is has a flow to it, has a description to it, has a template to it. And all of these templates are moving. They're not static, they're not fixed in time and space, but they're actually changing, right? They're flowing, they're moving, they're in motion. So this understanding of flow is everything. Everything is flow. Everything has flow within it, movement within it. Everything is made of flow. Flow itself is this kind of universal blanket of information about what things are, what things have been, and what things will. Now, against this rather large backdrop, I know already your heads are like, your ears are ringing and your heads are spinning. Against this big backdrop, we come into this understanding of flow as kind of being like a current. To really simplify it, really simplify it. You know that a current has two directions, right? It can go forward, it can go backwards, AC or dc. So if you are looking at flow as having a current, information is both written into this current. Meaning as every time you create something, every time you think something flow is receiving that information from you, you are building into it, you are changing into it. However, you can also read from the information, extract information out of everything that's already been created or everything that is currently in creation, possibly everything that will be created. And that is like the current moving in the opposite direction. So sometimes we're putting information into flow and sometimes we're pulling information out of flow. Now, as an empath, what this means is that you have a kind of sense, an awareness, your emotional ability to create, right? That's the foundation of manifesting. In flow dreaming. We use our emotions to create and manifest things with. However, we can also use our emotions to read or take in information. Right? The two directions, either putting information out or taking information in manifesting was putting it out or receiving. And empathically intuiting is taking information in. So an empath is a person who has a well developed emotional capacity to either manifest or receive information. Turns out most of us though, over time have kind of skewed one way or the other. Either we're great manifesters or we're great psychics. We've chosen our side of the street and we've worked it right. We've really become that person who is the manifester or the empath. So flow dreaming and those of you who've been studying the manifesting path, we're switching hats right now. We're looking at what happens if I use this information, if I use flow to simply gain information about other people, about other things, situations, conditions, you can do all of it. And in fact, in MI school, that's one of the things that I spend a number of months teaching our students how to take information out of flow, read it, use it, so you can make really good decisions. One of the primary reasons though that I also teach it not just to help them become better manifested, is that I know that they're already receiving this layer of information and many of them don't know it, or they don't know what to do with it, they don't know how to handle it. And so that's why I teach them. Here's how you clean your filter, right? You gotta clean your screen. It's like the dryer vent. Empaths have to periodically clean their empathic dryer vents. It's critical, it's crucial. So let me describe for you for a moment what it's like to be an empath and how it's this, how this feels a little different sometimes from other forms of intuition. So empaths have these, like I said, well developed emotional conduits, meaning that if we walk into a room and we sense that something is off, it's just off. We don't know what it is or who is doing it. Maybe no one's even in the room. Something is off. There's been a kind of emotional spillover, emotional froth. Imagine that everything that happens, every feeling you have, isn't just stuck in your head, but it's actually in a Non physical space too. Therefore, a person can exit a room, but the non physical information can still be present, is still present before it dissipates away. An empath can feel that can read goes beyond simply being able to read someone's expression. Many empaths, however, are really highly attuned to that too, right? You can look at someone and know, wow, they're having a bad day. And it's not just because you have, you know, attuned yourself to that slight downturn in their lips and the fact that they have stress hormones that are coming off their body that perhaps you're perceiving through your olfactory senses. Your body is biologically wired to know how other people are feeling. It had to learn this to survive in tribes, in groups and clans through the millennia. Yes, that is on. And some of us have really sharpened senses. But there's that other sense too. Maybe that person isn't even turned towards you. Maybe they're. It's a co worker and all you see is their back. And yet you just know. You just know. Think of it like an emotional wash, emotional debris that comes off all of us. Think of it like a watercolor painting, right? And those colors bleed out of each one of us. You know, they talk about our auras as kind of being, you know, reflective of our chakras and our, you know, our experiences. Imagine that there's a kind of an emotional aura that all of us give off. And some of those auras are filled with joy and sadness and these auras are fluctuating and changing. These emotional, you know, it's like fireworks coming off of us. Empaths sense this, read this and process this. It can be another word for your sixth sense, the emotional sense, how you receive things. And you can't always pinpoint them. Sometimes what happens is the way that you receive this information is you feel something inside you. You're like, God, I feel so depressed today. I don't know what's going on. I walked in the office in a good mood, and then an hour later I just felt lifeless and flat and just kind of like, bleh. And then you go, oh, I've been picking up emotion. You know, Jill, the next cubicle over just broke up with her boyfriend. She feels like crap. And I've been sitting next to her and feeling this, absorbing this, not even realizing it. Wow, that's not me. But your emotional filter was letting it in. Kind of like if Jill was sitting there next door sobbing on the telephone, your ears would be perceiving the hurt. And the feelings you'd be hearing it. The same thing is happening as Jill sits there and suffers next to you. Your emotional self is picking that up. And just like your ears would be picking up her sobbing. Now here's where it's really kind of funny and odd and strange. We all go around with this kind of pretend. We play pretend with each other that you can't tell how I'm really feeling. You don't know that I'm feeling insecure. You don't know that I'm feeling angry. You don't know that I'm know that I'm protecting myself. You don't know that I'm right. We pretend people can't tell what's really going on inside of us. But it's a big game. It's a farce. We all can tell what's going on inside each of us. And the stronger your emotion, the stronger you're emitting. It's the same thing as if Jill were speaking very quietly into the phone with her boyfriend versus yelling at him and crying and sobbing. The strength of your emotion will transmit to those around you. It's almost like a kind of biological courtesy that we developed over time that we pretend we don't know it, we don't speak to it. We certainly can't say, hey, you look like you're not feeling good, right? There's almost a taboo against that. They're like, what do I look like? I didn't get some sleep. Did I get fat overnight? What's wrong with me? You know, you have to be really careful before you walk up and say that, because you might be wrong or they might not admit it or, you know, all kinds of things. So we just kind of pretend it's all not there. But we empaths, no matter what, we pretend it is still there and it's flowing over us and through us every day. Every time you walk through a crowd of people, imagine that you're walking through an emotional debris field. Wow. Really puts it in perspective when you are walking through the mall, walking through the fair, walking through a, you know, a crowded park, you're walking through an emotional debris field. So of course, we have some sort of shield for that. We have some sort of armor for that, right? Don't we? Well, think about it. Do your ears have a kind of natural way of not hearing things? Usually your ears are hearing everything, yet they do. They have a way of turning off. Have you ever been studying or concentrating on something and your. Your kid or somebody's trying to get A hold of you and get your attention. Mommy, Mommy, Mommy. You don't even hear it the first three times. You have tuned it off, you've tuned it out. Your ears are perceiving it, taking it in, but they're not alerting you because you have a shield up and the shield says, no, I'm focusing over here. You can learn to do the same thing with your emotional empathic sense, which is, yes, I'm receiving it, but no, I'm not listening to it. This is how you navigate through life strongly, without being overwhelmed, without being dumped on all the time. One of the very first things I teach our me schoolers is to ask yourself, is this my feeling or is this someone else's? Does this belong to me? Is it rational? Do I have something really that's causing this? Or are there people around me that I have picked up on, that I have walked through, sat next to, engaged with, spoken with? You ever had a fight or an argument with somebody because they were grumpy? And you're not grumpy. You feel fine, but then you start talking with them and then they load you up with their negativity and you walk away like, ugh, you feel like a ship that took on too much water. And you realize, I'm still not really angry or upset about the thing that they were upset about. And yet I have taken on all of their emotional overflow and debris. Empaths will do that if you are not aware. Now, fortunately, you can learn to become aware. It's kind of like, you know, when I teach people flow dreaming, I talk about how we're always in conversation with the universe. All of our expectations are always going out there. We're always communicating. We are always, you know, programming and reflecting who we are, what we are, what our expectations are, are what we should be manifesting. Right? Likewise, we are always receiving information. It's just like a. It's a current that never stops, never ceases. Yet we can be careful about what is in that current, just like we can be careful about the kinds of information that we're giving to our flow to manifest. Right? We don't give our flow horrible things to manifest exactly the same. You don't receive in information you don't want to receive in. You are learning to take control instead of just being blah, right? People who are blah, you know, they manifest like shotgun style. Whatever happens to me, happens to me. Whatever emotions I walk into, I walk into. I'm just a victim floating through life. Of course, nobody will say you're a Victim. But they're, they're. They're living very unorchestrated lives, very random lives, lives that are often filled with negativity and chaos and feeling of like, I can't control anything, etc. Etc. But you guys aren't like that. You've woken up, you've said, hey, there's a different way to live. And I'm really curious what that is. So one of the first things that I want to get through to you in, and the purpose of today's episode is to make you aware you're an empath. Maybe you're not an empath. Maybe you're saying, how do you know, Summer? How do you know? Well, it's kind of like saying we all, you know, hear and see. Very few of us are. Are born without that capacity. Yes, there are some of us who are born without, you know, who are born blind or who can't. Born deaf. I believe all of us can feel, though, at least to a degree, either to a huge degree or to a small degree, most of us are somewhere in the middle. Whatever degree you are, you need to at least be aware that this is a sense and it is receiving information constantly. And if you are not careful, that information will get caught inside of you and it will. It will distort who you think you are. Because here's the thing, we are each generating our own emotions, right? Our own feelings, our own thoughts. So we've got this constant bubbling fountain of that going on, and then we're taking in all these other people's bubbling thoughts and feelings. You need to be able to separate the two. These are mine, those are yours. And sometimes when we're around people in a real constant way, co workers, parents you live at home, roommates, you know, even the kids you teach at school, you're around them all day. If we're around these people a lot, we tend to get less particular about our boundaries. We tend to start feeling like they feel. And again, remember, nature gifted this to us because if we can feel like our tribe is feeling, we're going to be stronger together. Oh, funny, I just listened to the Democratic National Convention. We're going to be stronger together. That's their new motto, Stronger together. But in this case, yes, I really mean it. Stronger together. We unify. If we are emotionally unified, we present a unified emotional force. So our natural tendency is to unify with the people around us, is to align with their emotional states. This makes it critical that you are choosy and thoughtful about the kind of people who surround you because you will tend to unify with them. This means that you want to choose to be with people who are bright, hopeful, filled with love, optimistic. And if you're not, you need to have some real clear boundaries in place, real clear processes to make sure that you're not getting too sucked into those other people's stuff. Long term, you know, goal, don't be around those people. But if you have to, short term, there are things you can do. And the very first one is recognition. Wake up. If you're feeling not good, ask yourself, is it me or is it them? Is it me or is it this conference room? Is it me or is it the living room where my husband just got angry over something on television? Is it? What is it? That's your starting point. Now, from there, empaths can collect a whole host of tools that will help them cleanse and release. I teach a number of those in me school. I don't have time to go through them all here, unfortunately. It would take me multiple podcasts to do that. But let's just say there is a process of emotionally dumping, emotionally releasing. So I'm going to tell you one thing very, very simple you can do right now. Many of you have heard about your chakras. I call them energy organs because it's a more neutral term. Means roughly the same thing. But when I think of an energy organ, I think of pretty much organs inside me, roughly around the same area where my other organs are or other spaces. Your vocal box, right. Your throat. There's an organ there, an organ of communication. It's where you meet the world, where you express to the world who you are. Energy, emotion can get stuck there. Well, let's talk about the one, though, known as your solar plexus, or the energy organ that's right there in your stomach and abdomen area around your belly button. Sometimes when we are emotionally overloaded, we get tight in our stomach, our abdomen has trouble, we get heartburn, we get constipation, diarrhea, ibs. We discover that our entire digestive system just goes bad. Isn't that interesting? Our digestive system goes bad. The digestive system is meant to flush out, right? Break down things and move them through you. Yet if you're picking up people's stuff and you're not able to flush it, break it down and move it through you, it gets stuck and decays. It's just like a digestive system that goes bad. Your emotional system that should be clearing this stuff gets stuck, goes bad. And you can feel this. That put Your hand, doesn't matter which one, right or left is fine. Put your hand right now in front of your abdomen. And now start moving it about an inch or two away. Move it in a gentle circle. You can go any direction that you want, clockwise or counterclockwise. And I want you to notice. Can you feel that? Can you feel, like a swirling energy start to move inside of you? Pretend that you've stuck your finger to the bottom of a cup of tea and there's tea leaves at the bottom, and you're swirling them around. You bet. There is a lot in that emotional organ of yours, that energy organ, that energetic organization, and a lot of it doesn't even belong to you. This is where most of our dryer lint traps are, right there. And you can very simply start moving that energy just by moving your hand in a circle. Clean the lint, clean it out. Doesn't belong to me. If you want, you can flick your hand out. Flick your hand. Just flick it off. Flick it off your fingertips. Go on, let it go. Release it. Some of you who have experienced qigong and other forms of sort of physical healing, you can recognize some of this, a lot of physical. In fact, you can hear me knocking my keyboard around. I'm flicking my hands as I speak, with you making all kinds of noise here. But a lot of our energetic healing modalities are based on this very simple principle, clearing your body of debris. I'm asking you to think of it as particularly emotional debris that has come in through, through your emotional sense of empathic intuition. Some of that emotional debris has come in because you yourself has generated. Have generated strong feelings and emotions and not fully processed them. You know, the lingering anger from the fight two days ago, the sense of fear, of knowing that you've only got, you know, 20 more days of unemployment and then time's up, right? You're constantly putting emotion inside yourself, constantly generating it. Some of it yourself creating, but some of it has come to you from outside. And that's what I want to make you aware of. It's the opening gambit. It's the beginning of this journey of you understanding exactly what your intuitive nature is made of, how to work with it, how to grow it, how to heal it and keep it healthy. So there you go. I hope that helps a lot of you. Go ahead and keep rubbing around and around until you just feel like, I'm feeling lighter, I'm feeling freer. And then notice, an hour from now, how are you feeling? Did it climb back in? Did it seep up again inside you. Do you need to do it again or are you still feeling pretty good? Almost every one of you who does this will experience a change, a difference. So, speaking of, if you kind of like this topic and you want to do a little more with it, I want to recommend a flow dream. It's called Emotional Detox, a flow dream meditation. And you can find that at my shop, flowdreaming.com. it's called Emotional Detox, a flow dream meditation. And it's basically the idea that, you know, you take a shower every day, you clean your body, sometimes you even fast, and you do green drinks and you, you do an internal cleanse. When was the last time you did an emotional cleanse? You know, if you take care of your body every day, when do you take care of your other body? Yeah, what's the answer? Right? Should be every day, and yet we don't. At least once a week. If you can do some form of emotional detox, you are going to discover you feel completely different in your life. I mean, it's just the simplest practice to put in place. So the flow Dream meditation, Emotional Detox, I made it as a quote, meditation. I don't often make meditations, but in this case I did because I recognize this is something you can do very gently as you're falling asleep. And this is when most people use it. They put on their headphones and they do it before bedtime. And it's like, it's a very easy, gentle cleansing process. So I highly recommend it. And, you know, go ahead and grab it. All right, so I'm ready to go to a quick break, grab myself a little glass of water and get ready. We just did the first one right before the break, and now let's jump into the second. This time, what we're going to do is close our eyes and we're going to move into flow. Moving into flow means becoming aware of your energy self, your emotional self. Becoming aware of the you that travels forward through space, through time. The greater you, your greater self, daydream your way here with me. Take the leap where for a few moments, you'll forget where you are. Even how much time is passing. You'll move into a different place, a different zone. Walk with me into the daydream. Follow me in your mind right now, in your vision as we walk across a little stream together. Jumping across on these soft, flat rocks, smooth, broad. Someone has placed them in this stream. Someone thoughtful, someone caring. And we step on one and we feel the water rippling beneath us. Below us, not so far down, just an inch or two, we take another step, another. We can feel that clear, cold water rippling, rippling past us. Smell it. The clearest mountain spring. Maybe one you remember as a kid you encountered somewhere that you tucked away in your mind, in your heart. Oh, that was such a beautiful experience, playing in that cool mountain stream. Well, here you are again. Step to the Next stone. Feel how inside you, something is being shaken off, as if the water were cleansing you too. Maybe you even want to step off one of these. Look, right over there. Do you want to put your feet down? It's not deep at all. Go on, put your toes in the water. There we are. Do you feel that? Soft and rippling, cleansing, Allowing your body to absorb this cleansing, healing, rippling stream all up through you, up through your toes, your ankles. Ankles. Through your knees, your hips. Ooh. Up into your abdomen. It's like a light, soft, cleansing energy into your shoulders, into your jaw. You feel so good. Ah. Splash some of that over your head. How is that? Notice what's dropping away from you, what's disengaging from you, what's dropping away from you. Do you see it flowing, floating away? Look, old energy. It's like looking at a oil slick on water. Like old oil in parking lots after it rains, creating that multicolored rainbow effect on the top of puddles. That's what's coming off of you. Can you feel it? Do you want to go deeper into that water, into the energy? Let it all wash off now. Let it all come off, flying off of you. Fling it off of you. Feel seeping out. Feel your abdomen right there behind your belly button. Feeling good. Letting it go. It's like someone has uncorked a bottle. All of this energy doesn't belong to you. It never was yours. It never belonged to you. It never meant to be yours. It was always someone else. You were holding on to it. It's not yours. Let it go. Free yourself. Free it up. Empty out. Now, when you're ready, step back up onto one of those nice little rocks. Flat stepping stone. Across the flow, across the water. Notice how you feel. Do you feel scrubbed clean? Soft baby skin? Squeaky. Wrap a towel around you. Fluffy, bright. A towel of light. A towel of energy. And now keep walking. Walk to the edge. The last stepping stone. And now you cross from it to the other side. And how strange the other side is. Actually the side you started in some strange, magical way. It was a full circle. You've come back clear, refreshed and relieved. Now, when you're ready, open your eyes. And there you have it. That was a very quick, five minute kind of energetic, emotional exercise. Yes, we moved into flow. Many of you at least moved into flow. Some of you simply felt it and saw it as a vision. Either way is fine. Remember that technique. Use it whenever you need to. A quick little energy bath.
