29 Jan 2026 · 39 min
Summer McStravik explores whether you're good enough, blending personal updates with a guided flow-dream exercise on self-worth and boundaries. She teaches the Flow Dreaming technique and encourages listeners to self-select into growth rather than force themselves into spaces that don't fit.

Flow Dreaming. It's a show where we talk about the power of your mind to change your world around you, to literally affect the fabric of your reality. We talk about this feeling of hope and joy and relief, and that is what being aware of your flow does. It gives you a feeling of power again in your lives. And that is what being aware of your flow does. It gives you a feeling of power again in your lives. Breathe. It is the feeling that you bring forward. It is your emotional connection that really sets the tone for what is going to be happening to you and for you. You know, that feeling, when you touch it, it just spreads through you. I'm Summer McStravik, and welcome to another episode of Flow Dreaming. And welcome to the show. Hi, everyone, it's Summer. And are you ready to go into some really interesting thinking ideas, Thoughts looking inside. At least I hope it's interesting. My aim is to both entertain and educate, so away we go. I'm taping this show right now with a kind of bittersweet feeling. I'm gonna move. I'm finally moving. Some of you have been listening to me for many years, and you know that I started looking for my next house about, oh, I would say, 12 years ago. It has finally come to pass. And so this is the last show I'll be taping in my little home office with my teensy, teensy, tiny studio. And I'm just sort of feeling those pangs. My KITT kitty cat's laying on the floor behind me. She's the one who snores, and sometimes you'll catch her on the show. The kids are in the background. First day of school for my son, and he's. I cautioned him, please don't yell across the house while I'm taping or everyone will hear you. Looking out at my gorgeous rose garden that I talk about so much, and my big mama pine tree, that's out there, too. And I'm saying goodbye. I'm saying goodbye to this place that I've nested in, that I've rooted down in, that I've known. And I'm leaping off into the next place, you know, the next phase. In fact, I know you might be listening to this tomorrow, but today was the full solar eclipse that hit the United States, where the sun was, of course, completely blacked out by the moon. And it's in my own sign, my Virgo sign. So it's a portentous moment, a portentous day. I brought in two new beautiful beings into MI school today. Had calls with two People who were curious about mi school, both of them signed right up. Bam, bam, bam. Lickety split, eager. Get me in. Get me in there. So I said, okay, okay. All right, let's do this. And I was just thinking, God, what a day to change your life, right? I mean, even if you are listening to this tomorrow day after the eclipse, this energy is, you know, it's not just defined in 1 Central 24 hours. It expands outward. Everything has a halo around it. Not just angels, everything has a halo. Moods, frequencies, changes, they have a halo. A going in energy, a peak, culmination, and then a dropping out energy. And the energy today has been beginnings and endings. Am I in or am I out? Am I heading towards something or am I heading away from something? And I'm feeling how, wow, you know, boom. Suddenly wave 5 of MI school is happening. And without any effort, really. And I'm moving these huge, huge changes. And my son is going back to school. So this is what it means to be in flow, right? And sometimes we think being in flow is just all, you know, cherries and marshmallows and just, you know, easy, whatever. Sometimes being in flow means being in such sync with the universe, with your destiny, with your purpose, that it feels effortless. It just is. It's all right. Everything is just where it needs to go. And these changes, they can be big or they can be tiny little whipped cream and marshmallows, little tiny bits of things. Flow encompasses it all. But the overlying, the overarching feeling behind it is where I'm going is good. Who I'm becoming is good. There is a path of ease and effortlessness and right being. And if I click into it and stay there and stop fighting against that current, if I find it and can click into it and become it, everything changes. All the hard goes away, all the difficulty starts to disappear. The things that come up for you will still probably come up for you. Challenges other people bring into your life, challenges that you personally accidentally create. But you're looking at them, you're feeling about them so deeply differently. Instead of crushing you or plowing you under. Oh, this is so much on that. You know, I could be approaching so much on my plate. This move and my kids starting school and then, you know, this big eclipse and all this, you know, why would I do that, though? That's not what I've built. It's not who I am. That is not how it feels to me. It feels to me really good. Easy, flowing. Flowing. I mean, I was talking, I had a staff meeting Today. And it's almost comical the last month because I keep saying, everything's great. We're doing great. Everything's good. Just chill. Just keep going. And they're just like, wow, what is this? I'm like, we're in flow. We are in flow. Everything is good. Just keep going. Do it. It's good. And that is what I'm trying to teach you. How to be in that state, how to stay in that state, how to live within that state all the time, even through the biggest changes. Even if you're elbowing around a big corner, I want you to know there is a place like this. There's a spot like this. And it's not just a. It's not a special spot. It's not cordoned off for VIPs only. It's an everyone spot. It's God's spot. It's Source's spot. It's Flo's spot. It's the spot that says you are meant to thrive and evolve and collect experiences and develop relationships and become whatever it is you choose to become. And we're not ranking what you choose to become. We are curious about what you're becoming. Because every little speck of paint on this painting is important. Every little color, every little notch is important. And you are a speck, and you are a notch, and you're important. What are you going to add? You're gonna add a lot of suffering and burden and hard and resistance, or you're gonna add, this is good? I'm aiming toward easy. I'm aiming toward flow. I'm aiming toward this kind of right beingness, this passion, love, total freedom, authenticity in myself. That's what I'm aiming toward anyway. That's what I'm aiming toward. And that was my very long introduction to Flow Dreaming. If this is your first episode, welcome. I hope you st. In fact, these episodes will be changing again. This is the 12th year I have been running Flow Dreaming continuously, episode after episode, every single week for 12 solid years. One of the longest running personal development programs that are out there actually in itunes, podcasts, I mean, in the Internet. So we recently celebrated over 2 million downloads. So I'm. Yay. Cheers about that. Yay. Thank you guys for making that happen. But we're changing again. Because like I was saying, every few years, I get a little bug in me, a little hair, and I say, hey, I need to do something different. I need to evolve. I don't need to stay the same. I tell you all the time, don't stay the same. So I'm not going to stay the same. And for the last year or two I've been doing these very spot on solo kind of shows where I'm offering you information around these subjects that are, you know, specific, you know, a topic oriented, topic driven. And roughly a month or so from now we will be shifting over and I can't say precisely what the new format will be, but it's probably going to involve talking to you again because I've realized I really miss you guys. I miss you and I want to talk live on the show with you. I want to have you call in like we used to do years ago. So I'm definitely adding that back in. I may add in interviews, all kinds of things. All kinds of things. So that said, stick around. The only other housekeeping, the only other business to mention is that me school is Open Wave 5. And this year I'm doing something quite different. I've decided that this is a number five year, right? The number five numerologically is very extroverted. It means a lot of connectivity, excitement, adventure, curiosity. I'm just, I love every adjective involved with the number five. And I thought, okay, I am going to custom curate this class. I'm going to talk with every student personally before they enroll to make sure that they are a right fit for the class, that they want to be in this class, that we want them in this class and then I'm going to bring you in. So wave five has, like I said, it's already started it just right out the gate. So in a few days you'll be probably be getting an email from me if you're on my email list. If you're not, go to flowdreaming.com and just grab my free kit if you get the free kit and you'll see a little place to put your email in. Then I'll let you know about wave five enrollment and we can go from there. So that's the big news. Wave five is enrolling me. School is going to happen. And now finally, let's get to the actual topic of today. Are we there yet? Oh, and I look at the clock and it's 11:11. It's been exactly 11 minutes and 11 seconds. I was recording when I did that. Oh, another one of my hallmarks. If you're an 1111 er, you're in the right place. The theme today is am I good enough? Am I good enough? And I picked this topic because it is something that comes up frequently in MI school. Frequently in MI school. Because when I'm talking and working with my students. You know, I'm hearing, what is it that's in your way? What is it that's preventing you from becoming who you are? What's in the way of your authenticity? What's in your way of helping people? What's in your way of becoming a coach? What's in your way of becoming a fine artist? What's in your way of becoming a great actor? What is in your way of finding that perfect partner? There's always something we've created for ourselves that's in the way. And sometimes they say, nothing's in the way. Nothing's in the way. It's just the universe won't give it to me yet. And I'll say, oh, so the universe is in your way? There's always something in the way. And when we play around in this conversation and we get a little deeper with it, what comes out? Oftentimes this is one of a handful, half a dozen, a dozen different patterns that might come up. I seem to have become a specialist in pattern finding over the years. One of the patterns that kind of come up is, well, I'm just not quite good enough. I'm not quite good enough yet. When I look over there at that person, they're already at the ascendancy, the peak. They're at the top of their game. Why would someone work with me instead of them? I don't get it. Or, you know, there's other women or other men out there. They're more intelligent, they're more rich, they have. They live in a better place. They're more interested, their bodies are better. We come up with all of this stuff in our heads, explaining why someone else is better than you. I'm not good enough. And maybe, maybe you're not even objectifying other people like that. Maybe you're just keeping it all inside. No, I'm not good enough. I don't even know what other people are like, but I'm not. Who's going to listen to me? Why am I important? That's the real root of this. Why am I important? Why would someone care? Why would they get an effect from me? You know where this goes to if you keep tugging on this thread? I call it going down the rabbit hole. You know, like Alice in Wonderland. You go down the thread all the way to the bottom and you're like, hey, are you worthy? Are you worthy? What are you worthy of? Tell me all the things you are worthy of. And it gets really interesting because then you'll say, well, I'm worthy of love. I'm like, damn right you're worthy of love. I know you're worthy of love. I'm glad you know you're worthy of love. Okay, so what's the problem? Well, why aren't you acting like you're worthy of love? Well, I am, but people just don't seem to see it in me. I'm like, well, you need to present yourself as worthy of love. If you're presenting yourself as different than worthy of love, they will give to you what they think you want them to give give to you. And if you're not presenting yourself as worthy of love, then they will go, okay, that's she doesn't think that and therefore will give her that she's not worthy of love thing. And then you're like, I have boundary issues. I'm like, I know you have boundary issues because that's really where this all goes to. So let's go back to I am worthy of love. I'm worthy of love, therefore I act in accordance with being worthy of love. If I act in accordance with being worthy of love, probably means I'm acting with a lot of inner strength. So if I'm acting with all of this inner strength, it means I'm standing up for myself. I'm creating a castle, and I am the queen or the king of this castle. If you love me, I'm inviting you in through my boundaries because you have proven yourself worthy of me. You've proven yourself worthy of me. Think on that. Feel that for a second. How often do you ask people, prove yourself worthy of me? One of my private students right now is entering a new relationship and I'm keeping this very anonymous. But one of the keys that I've asked this person is make this new partner prove that they are worthy you. You've never done that before. I want you to look and watch and take your time. Let them blossom, let them bloom. Let them work hard for you. Let them prove that they are worthy of you. Don't become passive aggressive. Don't make them jump through hoops where you're doing mean things and they say, oh, I love you anyway. That's totally different. Watch them arrive on time. Watch them keep their commitments. Watch them prioritize you. Watch them be self sufficient and not need everything from you. Watch them prove that they are worth you. Watch your job prove that it's worth you. Watch your clients prove that they are worth you. And again you say, but what if I'm not good enough? And I'd Say, well, we need to examine how low your bar is here. Why are you less than? What made you less than? And more importantly, when do you get to be more than? Who is the one who defines that? Is there an invisible judge out there giving you a ribbon saying, now you qualify? You're in the majors. You are in the highest ranks now. You are more than. I mean, this is life, folks. This isn't. You know, this isn't a workplace where they're going to award you with a promotion and a raise. Right? I mean, the things that you've used until now to gauge whether you're more than someone else are not relevant in the realm of personal growth and spirituality and, frankly, who you are. They're only relevant in systems like workplaces and the military and educational systems where they have to rank you. Right? They're ranking you constantly. And to rank up, and video games. To rank up, you have to prove yourself that you've passed all of the things to get to that next rank. Yet this way of thinking carries over into our private lives, our personal lives. And this is where I ask you, who judges that you have ranked up? Who gives you that raise and that bonus and that new job and that new title? Nobody. You. You do. You do. You're your boss. You are giving it to yourself. No one else is giving it to you. So you can stay less than for as long as you want, or you can say, no, I'm more than now. And you'll go, whoa, that feels funny. To, like, suddenly jump over onto. It's like crossing a river, and you're on a new rock and it's a little wobbly, but you did it. You're more than now. And you're like, well, who said so? How do I know? How's it proven to me? Well, what do you need to have it proven to you? You're the boss. You know, do you need excellent performance? What do you need? What are you looking for? I look for. I'll tell you how I find that I am more than. I look to my relationships. I look to the kind of people that I have in my life. Do I admire them? If I admire them, it probably means I'm a pretty good person because I've attracted a really good set around me. I look to my safety net. Sure. My finances, my material life. If I've done well there, then I'm saying to myself, you've taken care of yourself, and you can take care of others. Good marks. Good check marks for you, Summer. I look to my relationship with My soul with spirit, with force, God, source, flow. And if it feels healthy and connected and buoyant and light and not filled with doubt or negativity or fear, then I say, oh, you've ranked up. So I've created all my own qualifiers for ranking up. And this is what carries me, because there's no one else out there who's going to give this to me. So therefore, I'm good enough. I'm good enough to do what I do. I'm good enough to talk about the things I talk about. I'm good enough to teach the subjects I teach. When I feel that I don't know something, oh, my God, that's so different than not being good enough. If I don't know something, I come out and say, I don't know. I'm waiting to find out. I'm traveling this new road. I've said that dozens of times over the last 12 years on this program, over and over. I'm waiting for the next thing. I'm not sure yet. That's just being honest. That's being a seeker. In fact, the older I get, the old saying is true. The older you get, the less you realize you actually know, because the questions become so much more intricate, so much more nuanced, so much more to explore. Things come in focus so much more. And when they come in focus, you realize how much more complicated and rich everything is. There's a lot more to know. I hope I'm always in a state of asking questions. I hope I'm always in a state of saying, hey, what I knew last year, what I even said on this podcast last year is wrong. Why? Because I know more now. And knowing more means I've actually grown. If I stay the same, if it's always the same, forever and ever the same, I'm probably not growing. And hint, hint, if you're following any other teachers and they're not growing, they'll be saying the same thing over and over and over and over again. And if they contradict themselves in five years, cut them some slack. They've grown. They've grown, and now they're sharing their new insights with you. And usually when you get more nuanced with something, you've got to go back and correct some of the other things that were less nuanced following. So I know we're diverging a lot from being good enough, but really, it's all in the same package. Here's the key. Here is the takeaway. No one else is going to give you the you are Ready now and you're good enough now prize or gold star or advancement level or rank up, you are the one who has to do this. There is a term I use for this in me school. It's called self selecting. And I always point out to the students I work with, you self selected to be with me. There is no way I can go out and find you individually and say you, I want you and you're ready and you're ready. And yet isn't that kind of all what we secretly want? We want some amazing teacher or person or boss or company head or I don't know, person anyone to come out and select us and say you, I select you, you're amazing. Because it gives us all that validation, you know, says I'm good enough. Someone saw it in me, I'm good enough. But that's not how it works. You have to step up and say I'm good enough. I am self selecting for this. I'm choosing to be in this. That is how you get the teacher. When the student is ready, the teacher will come. When the student is ready, the teacher will come. Notice how it starts with when the student is ready, the student is self selecting. Student is walking up to the teacher and saying, I can do this now and I'm going to be good enough for you now. I'm going to be ready for this now. And then the teacher says, oh, I guess you are because you just aligned to me, to this, to the message, to whatever it is, let's go. Come join my gang, come join my crew, come join my party. And then you get to be with those people that you have felt for so long you're ready to be with. And I know that feeling of I'm ready to be with these people. When am I gonna get to be with these people? You self select your way into it and then they recognize you as one of your own. So think about this as you mull over, am I good enough? I'm telling you, there's no doubt in my mind you are good enough. I don't question it, you're good enough. Every single person I talk to on the phone, every potential student, every student I have, every private client I have, everyone I've spoken with, thousands and thousands of people, they are all good enough. And the only time they are not good enough is when they refuse to be. When they say, no, I'm going to play small, I'm going to stay in my fear, I'm not going to jump up to the level that I should go into Next. And then I say, yeah, you're not playing like you're good enough. Okay, but you know what? Even then, I recognize there's a time limit to staying in that place. Be like a little kid, you know, getting older, and the kid's like three or four. I want to stay in the sandbox. I want to play in the sandbox. I'm not ready yet to go school. I'm gonna play in the sandbox. Mom says, okay. Kid turns five. No, I'm staying in the sandbox, not going to school. Kid turns 6. I'm gonna stay in the sandbox. I'm not. Kid turns 7. Kid turns 8. Kid turns 9. Pretty soon you got this 10 year old kid in a sandbox with a bunch of three year olds. There's a time limit. There's a point everyone, every one of us reaches where you say, I don't think I can stay here anymore. I guess I am past this. And some of us, hey, we kick ourselves right into kindergarten. Right away, we're eager, get me out of the sandbox. And other kids are saying, no, I'm not ready. I'm not ready. I'm not ready. I'm not ready. I'm gonna play small. I'm gonna play small. I'm not good enough. I'm not good enough. Until they're towering over all the other little ones in the sandbox. And that's what I mean by there is a time limit to it. And it's not something that's posted in the weekly newspaper. It's something inside you. It's your own inner clock. When you're ready, you're ready. When you're ready, you'll go. When you're ready, you'll hold back actually for a while and go, oh, am I ready? I don't know. I don't know. I'm gonna let some more time go by. I'm gonna let some more time slip by. And then eventually you'll do it. Probably a couple years past the date that you were supposed to do it, but you'll do it. And then, of course, if you really start getting into flow, dreaming, you'll learn you don't have to wait years past you're ready. You can actually move when you're ready. And you can move with that kind of confidence and ease and flow. That for me, feels like, gosh, this is what it means to really grow. That's one of my personal hallmarks of growth. Do I move when I'm ready or do I stall and sit and wait longer Longer, longer, longer, longer. Because if I'm doing that, I'm still being the kid in the sandbox. And it means I'm not there inside myself. As soon as I find that in me, it pisses me off. And I'm like, oh, no, I'm definitely ready now because I saw that in me. I'm not buying into that anymore. That's not me. I'm good enough. I'm good enough. So that's closing up my. Oh, dare I call it my sermon today about being good enough. Please. You are good enough. It's built into you to be good enough. It's your default to be good enough. You have to just trust that you're good enough. You have to believe that you're good enough. You have to say, I can do this. I will do this. I'm good enough. I am self selecting. I'm changing. I'm good enough. So stay with me. We're gonna go to a quick break, and then when we get back, let's do a little flow dream about being good enough. It's summer, and while we're on break, have you checked out MI school? And if you choose to join me school, well, then I look forward to spending this year with you live as we work together to create miracles. Welcome back. So flow Dreaming, the technique, the specific technique that we teach and use here in MI school and in Flow Dreaming and on this podcast is something where it. It's kind of like emotional reconditioning. Let's look at it like that. You are entering a state inside your feelings, inside your emotional self. And when you are inside your emotional self, cultivating, creating, feeling, these things I'm asking you to feel, what you're doing is you're actually creating a kind of communication feeling with life, with the universe. Imagine, Remember how I said everything kind of radiates out from us, emanates out from us. When you are emoting, you are radiating out a feeling state, which is essentially a state of being. So when you're flow dreaming, you can choose, well, what's the specific state of being that I want to be right now? And you can say, like today, I want to be good enough. I really want to be good enough. I want to put it to rest. I want to be good enough. Stay good enough, Continue to be good enough. Always be good enough. And that's what I'm going to start feeling. I'm feeling it right now. I'm not waiting for someone else to tell me I've reached their benchmark. I've reached their ranking, therefore I can be good enough. No, I'm being good enough right now. I wonder how that feels when I tell myself right now, this instant, I am good enough. What does that feel like? And we take it from just being an intellectual exercise. A question. What does it feel like? I don't know. I'm gonna turn off the podcast and never think about it again. We turn it from that to, I'm actually gonna feel it. Oh, my God. I'm gonna feel what it's like to be good enough. So this is not meditation, not creative affirmations or creative visualization or any of that stuff. It's nothing else. It's not hypnosis. It's none of the stuff that you've perhaps heard of before. I'm going to ask you to imagine. Use your imagination. It's the doorway. I'm going to ask you to daydream. Daydream means let go of yourself enough that you kind of unhook from who you are and drift. And then feel this state of flow. Feel the state of ease that I talked about in the beginning. The state of perfection. The primordial soup of you, who you are, where you came from. How would you talk there? Let's practice it. So close your eyes with me. And this will be brief. Believe me. A real regular flow dream is gonna last you a little bit longer than what we're gonna do. But it's a good start. Okay. Right. Are your eyes closed? Deep breath. Relaxing. I like to sigh. I like to make a noise and let my throat open up. Cause I tend to hold my throat and it gets tight. Throughout the day, I roll my shoulders, I sigh all the way down to the body of my lungs. I release and relax. And I let go and I begin to drift. Drift and daydream. Remembering who I am. Who am I? Who are you? Can you remember? Not the you that Everyone else tells you you are. Everyone else has their built up preconception of who you are. They filed you away in their minds. And you know what? Every copy they have of you is different. If you were a recording, every single person's recording of you would play wildly different music. And yet they'd all say, it's you. No, it's them. It's their recording of you. You are you. You. You are the first recording, the central recording. You are you. You are you. Who are you? What are you playing? How do you feel? Are you good enough? Are you good enough? Not even extraordinary, but good enough for the next phase of being good enough. Because you can see this now. You feel it, this sort of energy coalescing, collecting around this sensation, this feeling inside your heart, inside your body. I'm good enough. I'm good enough. I'm good enough for the next good enough, whatever that is. I'm good enough for the next step, good enough for the next step. And then on the next step, that step, I'm good enough too. And I keep being good enough for everyone. And eventually I've been good enough a lot of times. And there's a lot of good enoughs in me now. Wow, look at that. It's like you're running up a beautiful staircase into the heavens. All those good enoughs are surrounding you. You have been good enough time and time and time again in your life. What are you staring down right now that you're not good enough for? Bring that thing out. Go on, pull it out. Plop it down in front of you. What's the thing you're not good enough for right now? You are good enough for it. You've been good enough for it. It's ready for you. That's why it's here. Because you've aligned to it already. Wake up. You've already aligned to it. You're good enough for it. Wake up. You're good enough. Do it, be it, become it, say it, speak it, share it, exchange it it, feel it, desire it, want it. You're good enough. You're good enough. You're good enough for it. So take it, be it. Hold that feeling, hold it in. You're good enough. What more is it gonna take? Nothing. Because you'll be good enough for the next thing too. And you'll be good enough at the thing after that. Because you keep advancing. Every day that goes by, you're advancing and you're becoming. And you add 24 hours onto yourself of experience and a feeling state and who you are you're growing without even trying. You are good enough. Be in your flow with that. Be that. Then when you're ready, go ahead and open your eyes and come back from your flow dream from your daydream. How you feeling? So that was more than just talking yourself into something. That was feeling yourself into your core, into who and what you really are. And maybe you felt the difference when you touch on that part of you that's really real. It's like reminding yourself, oh, yeah, I'm that. Oh yeah, I'm in flow. Oh, yeah, I'm good enough. Oh, yeah, that's right. Key is, you need to feel it all the time. You need to feel it consistently. You don't want to feel it. Just podcast and another podcast, another podcast. You want to feel it every day. You want to make this become a structure inside of you that just kind of rises up whenever you're ready for it, whenever you need it, it's right there. Oh, yeah, I'm good enough. There's that feeling. I know that I'm good enough. This is how you get things done. This is how you change. This is how you become financially secure. This is how you launch your company. This is how you create a relationship that starts off on the right foot and stays on the right foot. This is how you develop a relationship that you may already be in. This is how you work with your own inner health challenges. This is how you do it all. It's all here in this. So I'm going to leave you with that thought. I'm going to leave you in that strength and remind you, I love you. I hope you have a lot of people that you love, too. Love is a free commodity. It's one of the few free things we have out there. Someone can earn it from you. They can never buy it from you. So be lovable and go love some people. And with that, I will see you all next week for another episode of Flow Dreaming. And in the meantime, I sure hope I talk with a lot of you about MI School. So run over to the website, check it out. All right, bye, everyone.
