Energy witches are people who have learned to work directly with universal energy. You'll find them in the form of intuitive empaths, psychics, reiki, qigong practitioners, and even flow dreamers. So let's explore how to awaken your inner energy witch and understand what makes a path of going direct to energy such a unique one. Flow Dreaming still kinda woo Woo is just what it sounds like. An escape into the world of woo. Also a ride into you and how to feel happier, wiser, and more self aware in every way. It's your ultimate journey into personal growth and inner power. We'll explore ideas like how your energy self influences the kinds of opportunities you encounter, or how your personal growth can drive your business growth, or even how that feeling of being stuck is really always coming from something else. We just have to figure out what. That's right. We're a dash of woo woo. A sprinkle of self care, a heap of problem solving and pattern busting, and a giant cup of encouragement. We're going to relight so much passion, purpose, self love and confidence in you that you practically stagger. I'm Summer McStravik, your host and welcome to Fly Dreaming still kind of woo Woo. Hi friends. Summer here it is. Lovely to be with you. I'm here with you because this idea has been rolling around in my head for a while. I've always looked at all of the different intuitive arts, the healing arts, spirituality in general, and I've asked the question, why are some people attracted to astrology? Other people love numerology. Other people want to practice Reiki. Other people want to do past life regressions. Other people want to be mediums. Other people want to use oracle. There's. There's a. There's such a huge amount of directions you can choose from in the ways that you connect with, with source energy or God energy, your higher power, with the other side, whatever you want to call it. So many different ways you can choose from. Why do we end up choosing some ways and not the others? Why do we have a particular passion and other people don't get it at all? So I got to thinking, well, what. What would be mine? And many of you guys know the answer. It's. It's flow dreaming, right? It is that manifestational practice that also allows for healing and intuitive aware. All kind of rolled in one. But flow dreaming is pretty unique and I want to share exactly why with you and what I mean by calling myself an energy witch. And I know witch is kind of a trendy term, but it's also Kind of a fun term. So we're going to explore that. Before we jump in, I have exciting news. Couple really exciting things are happening. First of all, my Oracle card deck, the Flow Oracle deck that I have been working on for about 18 years. Guess what it is on Kickstarter starting in a couple of days, or maybe it's already there. If you're just listening to this, I really encourage you. If you are at all interested in a beautiful set of Oracle cards that are based around flow and energy and manifesting principles, please check it out. The other thing that is not active just yet, but I wanted to give you a little whisper in the ear. It's coming. I'm putting together a new place for us all to gather. I've noticed that social media, oh boy, in recent years, has gotten pretty rough to. I don't know, there's so much noise. And I wanted to find a place where we could just come together and know it would just be us. And know that if we asked a question, if we made a post, other people would actually see it and actually have the bandwidth to respond because that's what they're there for, not just flung out into the, you know, the wide ocean of Facebooking and Instagramming and so on. So very shortly, I am going to roll out a new group for us, a free group, a place where we just get together and talk about manifesting, talk about flow dreaming, talk about intuition, talk about you and what we're creating and what's working and what's not working. And I can jump in and answer questions, and you can answer each other's questions as well. So I've come up with a pretty cool name for it. I mean, it may still change. It may still change, but you all are familiar with the Flow Dreaming Mastermind. I brought that out about a year or so ago, year and a half ago, maybe. Well, I wanted to kind of expand on it a little bit. It's been such a beautiful program that I thought, huh, maybe it's time to take it new places. So we're going to be rebranding the name of it a teensy tiny bit. It's still the Flow Dreaming Mastermind, but now I'm also calling it the Flow Dreaming Mastermind. Stardust Society. I love that word, Stardust Society. It just encompasses so much, this awareness that we have of being more than what we are, of knowing that our consciousness truly transcends realms, of knowing that we have a little bit of magic, a little bit of stardust in our fingertips as well. And of course, as part of that, you'll have different ways you could engage with it if you so choose to. Of course, it's totally free to come and just join and hang out and talk and follow some of the challenges that we're going to be doing each month for changing different areas of our life. But you might also want to be a Rising Light leader, a Celestial Circle member, or part of the Diamond Council. I love every, believe me, I, I sat thinking about these names for a couple of months until I settled and went, yeah, I can go forward with that. That feels really good. So anyway, it's, it's on its way to you. This is just letting you know in advance something very cool is percolating and we'll be with you shortly. All right, let's return to this whole business about energy witches. So, you know, I, some of you know that I grew up in a very, very open minded and historically intuitive family. The work that I do is similar and greatly overlaps the work that my mom does. We read people, we read situations, we read minds, consciousnesses, both living and non living. She uses energy to what she calls throw mojos, which some of you today would recognize as a specific kind of light language to move energy around. I move energy by going into an expanded state known as flow. However, my upbringing also exposed me to a lot of very interesting other modalities. My grandmother was a healing touch practitioner. We grew up literally, my mom going to the same high school with Donna Eden and, and her family became very close with ours. It's just been a wild and interesting ride. When I was younger, my mom met a bunch of, well, let's just call them crones. They didn't they seem like that when I was, you know, 14, but if I think back, they're probably younger than me and I remember them taking me out to celebrate my womanhood. Basically we had a ceremony on the beach and it was full of magic. It was full of witchcraft and witchiness and, and beauty. And I've long since lost touch with them all. I wish I hadn't, but over and over again I've sort of dabbled and tested and tasted and tried lots of different ways of, of thinking before really coming to my own way of thinking, which led me down the path of flow dreaming. But this idea about witches and what they do, I mean it's, it's very cool. We've all seen the Netflix shows now and, and you know, maybe even listen to some podcasts about it. Witchery today is very different than it was 10, 20, 30 or more years ago. Back then it was very much still grounded in a lot of old fashioned dogma, a lot of 19th century thinkers, a lot of very masculine dominated ways of exploring it. And it really just didn't, didn't jive with me. It didn't, I didn't feel right. However, things have changed and what we're recognizing more now is that this concept of being a witch, quote, quote witch really is a woman, typically a man too, but often a woman who is deeply in touch with her greater skills and abilities, greater in touch with her knowing than people who never paused to take a look. She's developed this knowing, she's developed particular avenues or ways of working with herself, with universal energy, with the energy of health or spirituality or sight, whatever it is that caught her interest. And this brings me right back to the beginning, right where I said, why do we choose the different things we do? Well, people have been choosing like this for years and years and years, hundreds of years, perhaps thousands of years, but they used to call them witches and they used to have their particular specialties, right? The hedge witch, the witch who is the, not the fully trained one, the one who just the scrappy witch who just goes out there, picks up and learns, the midwife witch, the one skilled in birth and life and healing, the kitchen witch, the herbalist witch, the one who adores plants and knows exactly what to do with them and how they speak to you and what their energy feels like and what they're there for. More than just food, to deliver vitamins. But there's something else beyond and bigger within them. You've got sun witches, witches that use more masculine energies, the rays of light, the ones that expose and reveal and change and charge forward. You have moon witches, the ones who follow the sacred cycle of the. The lunar landscape across the sky, across the year. Watching that ebb and flow of tides and waves of water energy of cup energy, of feminine energy. I could go on, there's so many kinds, but nobody really talks about an energy witch. What is a straight up energy witch? Well, I've come to kind of understand it as kind of a fun way, frankly a really fun way of saying that you just work directly with cosmic or divine energy, direct connection to cosmic or divine energy. And what I mean by this is I was calculating a couple weeks ago. I just got kind of curious. How much time, how much of my life have I actually given to flow and spent in this state of otherworldliness, spent in this state of divine communication, an expanded state. If you Will think of it like I am the email who is floating through all of the Internets right now looking for the one particular computer that it's supposed to go to. But to find that I'm kind of everywhere. I'm in the energy, the transitional state from A to B, that my space is flow. And when I get to B, which is expanded awareness, I'm still in A, I'm still me, I'm still here. A bridge has opened, a connective corridor. So in essence, you're at three places at once. Doesn't feel that way. But truly it is where you are physically where you are in expanded state and the connection between the two. Now, as an energy witch, what do I do and what does it mean? Okay, so I've mentioned that I use flow dreaming, and I'll go into that in a little bit. But most people, most forms of empathic or healing or intuitive or forecasting involve some sort of intermediary. What do I mean by intermediary? Well, you know those Oracle cards, you know what they do. I just told you about a set of my own, right? Those Oracle cards are an interface. They are the corridor. In other words, your point A, the intermediary is point, the corridor to get to point B, the expanded awareness, the all that isness, source, God, high power, the universe, whatever you're calling it, your Oracle card is what is going to filter and interpret the information. And it's very helpful sometimes to have a filtering and interpretive device, because otherwise the only interpretive device you have is your own brain, which can be very much persuaded to believe what it's wanting to believe and hoping to find and hoping to discover. We've all had that experience of having an intuitive feeling and then saying to ourselves, oh, but that's just what I want to have happen, isn't it? I don't know if I can trust it or the opposite. I have an intuitive feeling and some part of you says, yeah, but it's what I'm afraid of. No wonder it's just poking itself into my mind and I'm wrestling with it. It's my fear. It's not actually intuition. It's probably wrong. When we have an intermediary, we kind of get rid of both of those scenarios because we have something that we just pull out, look at and say, huh, Okay, I had a question at point A, point B, all that is had an answer. I bring something in the middle that is indifferent to my emotion, my expectation that will give me clarity and cut through again the noise so that's the example of where an oracle card can be extraordinary for you. And it's partly why, you know, I sometimes use my own. When I go and look and read energies about myself or especially people I'm very close with and know well, my bias tends to creep in, and sometimes I need to cut that off and create more of a filtering effect. So it's not just oracle cards that people use as an intermediary. Astrology is an intermediary. What you're doing there is you're looking at the movement of the heavenly bodies of the planets, the flows of energy and interactions between them, and the math that's involved. And you're saying, all right, this is a framework that I can interpret. All that is through. That's it, an interpretive framework. It's a thing, it's a modality, It's a mathematical practice, essentially. And just because astrology is not something you can hold in your hand, if you've ever seen your chart laid out on paper and you've seen all those little trines and squares and all of the symbology, you recognize it is still an intermediary. It's a method for interpretation. Numerology, same exact deal. This is what numbers mean. This is what numbers mean in relation to me, et cetera, et cetera. Crystals. Let's shift gears a little bit less predictive here and more going into the healing or energetic arts. Crystals are a perfect intermediary whenever we hold one. And you guys, my desk is overflowing with crystals at this point. I don't know, the last few years, I've just been on a bender of collecting. I have so much. They surround me. They're like my little happy family. But they also help channel or divert or enhance or dull down different energies. And that's why we use them as an intermediary. Now, if you're a healer, you might be using crystals as part of your healing practice. If you are a reiki healer, if you are someone who is not using any sort of physical intermediary, you're saying I'm actually connecting in a tuning to a certain energy. You now, my friend, are moving into the realm of being in the energy witch side of things. So you have to ask yourself, is the healing modality I use one that involves an intermediary or one that doesn't? If you think about other forms of healing, I mentioned herbalism, right? In natural health earlier, a person who says, I'm going to take this damiana or this golden seal or this valerian root is recognizing that These plants are holding some sort of energy or powerful effect. And it could be phytochemical and actual effect coming from the genetic makeup of the plant. It could be more than that, something imbued in the plant itself. That plant is your intermediary. Then you have a healer who simply says, I'm going to scan you, see you, read you and fix you. I'm going to look at your meridians or your, your energy system and we're going to make some corrections, right? The, the. What do they call those? The. The. The medical intuitives, for instance. They would be more in the realm of the energy wish. So you're starting to see you have things around you right now I'm sure that you love and you play with. Maybe you use sacred symbology, the Kabbalah. Maybe you have your beautiful garden, maybe you have runes that you use. There's so many options. Those are physical intermediaries, the energy which essentially doesn't need to use those. Or if she does or they do or he does, it's because they enjoy it, because they want to create that little extra filter between them and what they're reading, seeing, using, understanding or healing with. So here's another example. If you read the Akashic records, if you're a person who goes and says, here's what I see, here's what I feel, you're going straight into energy. You're reaching into the grand library of all that is directly. If you're using some form of something or other to get you there, then you're using an intermediary and not so much in the energy, which realm you're in some other realm, some other name for yourself, whatever that may be. But that, my friends, is essentially the only real difference. Now this year has been an interesting year for me personally because after practicing flow dreaming and energetic work, meaning moving into this flow state, using this particular technique that I use to get there and to begin asking questions and seeing and feeling and co creating and manifesting. After having done this for going on 25, we're heading on 25 years, I found myself more and more going into what I say, ground and down, up and out versus ground and down. And if you've been in my classes and courses, you've heard me perhaps say this. By the way, I do teach live workshops every month. You are so welcome. You're going to be part of the Rising Light Leaders when you are part of those live courses with me. And in every one of those courses or workshops they get quite lengthy, like an hour and a half. They are super chill, often just really fun. Some people are still at work and they're just listening and enjoying. Other people, like clear the space and do the rituals with us. But what I've been incorporating into those for the first time, really ever, in the last, you know, 24 of 25 years, is more of this ritualistic energy. Recognizing that I've been teaching you all how to be energy witches for years and years and years and years. But there's something to be said for the beautiful balance of earth and air, right? Fire, water, earth, air. And I've been going more deep into that balance in my own self and in my own life. Meaning I have been working much more in the realm of ritual, meaning ground and down. These are the physical things. These are like using the intermediaries, right? This is the physical stuff. We are physical beings. We're here in physical bodies. Thank God. I'm so grateful that I still have one. But as these physical beings, we often have a tendency, especially people like us. We're, you know, we. We're dreamers. We're. We're. We want to move into ascended places and, and higher ways of thinking and expanded abilities and realities, right? We have that yearning. We often say, you know, when I return to source, as if when we do, we're going to become something much bigger and greater, right? There's this drive in us. We don't want to leave this earth, don't get me wrong. But there's this desire to go bigger in this way and become. To rise up to again, expanded consciousness, right? That's what we're after. So we typically have a tendency to get a little less grounded, if you will. And we look around at all of our very grounded friends, you know who they are. They're the ones who say, you believe all that crap. You're like, yeah, but I still love you. I love you too. Right? But there are friends who don't do any of this. They don't care about it. You know, they're. They want to play pickleball and, and, you know, send, send holiday cards and, you know, go shopping and just do regular vacationing, do regular person stuff. I mean, we all do that too, but that's where their focus is. They're grounded and downed ground and down. They're involved with physical life and the physical earth and all the physical and material things around them, including relationships. However, we who tend to be more on the energy. Which side? And I'm going to make that assumption right now, because if you've Been listening to this show, and it's been resonating with you. There's probably a big part of you that's like, yeah, that's kind of me. We have to remind ourselves to ground and down. Ground and down means picking up something physical, using some sort of physical ceremony or ritual. You know, when you go to church, I don't know if you still do. Many of us did, especially as children, and they say, open up the book of, you know, the hymn book, and we're going to sing. That is a ritual. That is a traditional religious ritual song. The act of singing together, of creating a harmonic vibration of everyone's voice that merges together. That is, in essence, a ritual. The ritual of. Of going and, you know, the. The blood and the. And the body of Christ taking communion. That is a ritual. We are soaked in rituals in our religions. Similarly, we can be soaked in other kinds of rituals that simply remind us, I am of this earth. I utilize the earth energy. I am stuck to this earth with magnetic boots. And I'm going to acknowledge that because the more that I can feel myself pulled and stuck to this earth, think of it like this. The higher up I can allow that other part of me to go, because I don't get untethered. Imagine if you're a balloon and, you know, somebody stuck one of those little party things at the bottom, those little party weights, you know, the ones that come in the sparkly packaging. And it keeps the balloon sitting on the table instead of flying off when you ground and down. When you practice some form of ritual, what you're actually doing is putting that little party balloon thing at the bottom, meaning your balloon can go up as high as you want now, depending on the strength of what's holding it down. So I have been incorporating more of this balanced approach, doing interesting rituals that I've been really pulling from all different parts of religious culture and tradition, traditional societies, as well as current and newer ones. In fact, coming up in Thanksgiving, we'll be celebrating using gratitude and some of the more recent rituals around gratitude. We'll be making a. I call it a craft together. But the very act of making a craft is creating something. It's an act of creation, a physical act of creation that grounds our energies into it, right? So we will be practicing deep gratitude, which is an energy practice, right? The energy which whenever you practice gratitude, you're practicing an emotion. You're going straight to source. There's no intermediary. It's you having a feeling, having an expanded connection. But when you do Both when you have a little bit of ritual, a little bit of something physical, a little bit of acknowledging this, the crystals that you're going to use, or the smudge stick that you're going to be working with, or the resins that you might be burning or the candle that you might be lighting, now you're sort of doubling down on whatever it is you're doing. So as an energy witch, now that you know one, you know basically what it is and maybe how you are somewhat that way, you're also noticing. Yeah, but I like that other stuff too. Then what I'm suggesting is we're all kind of a blend. We're all a bit of a blend. We typically just funnel ourselves more into one thing than another. Some of my best friends are amazing astrologers. That doesn't mean they don't use oracle cards or do flow dreaming with me. They just love astrology and they're good at it. So that's the, the, the, the, the number one channel that they've chose to work in. The same would go for animal communicators. Right? They are energy witches, but they focus on more of the animals of this world as opposed to the human animal. That said, they're still going to be using other things in their practice and in their work. So think about yourself. Where do you fall on this spectrum and is it starting to make sense why you have an affinity for some things more than others? Do you see yourself as a hedge witch, a moon witch, energy witch? Or are you a different kind of witch? A healer, A midwife? Ask yourself this. It's, it's just, it's an interesting exercise. It's not even necessary to self identify like we're doing right now. But I think it can be really clarifying because, you know, I reminded you that I went and thought about how many hours did I really spend in this space? I'll tell you the answer. Over 8,000. 8,000 hours of my life. Either I have been in flow myself, doing my own practice, or I've been working with a client and been in flow with them, or I've been recording, you know, these flow dream audios and meditations for you, channeling and, and kind of receiving that divine information. 8,000 hours. Didn't someone say once if you practice something for 10,000 hours, you become a true master? Well, I think I'm getting close. What's his name? Was that Malcolm? Malcolm Mix somebody. Anyway, I could be wrong. You guys can correct me, but I just thought you'd enjoy this perspective because you know, I've never really heard anybody else describe it like this. And break it down for me. The fundamental difference between all of the passions and hobbies that we have and all the things that we use as we do them. Our crystals and our cards and our pendulums and our dream catchers and all the things that we use. Right. Versus those of us who just go, plop, right there. I'm in. I'm in the energy, I'm working with the. The healing lines, I'm, Et cetera. So there you have it. I hope that was an interesting peek or glimpse as you get to know more and more about this world. Never stop looking, seeking, growing. There's always more to learn. If anything I've seen, as I get older, there is always more. A lot of things start circling back around again when you get to my age, we start seeing, oh, yes, that's. Oh, that's come back around. Oh, that's come back around. But that's not to say new things aren't still dropping in and new understandings. Think of it like an archaeological dig. You might be in the same hole, but every layer is going to yield new answers, new treasures, new discoveries. So I welcome you again to this show, to podcasting with Flow Dreaming, and of course, to go to flowdreaming.com anytime you want. Pick up any of the flow dreams there. When I say you are working direct with energy, even though you may be using a flow dream meditation. Yes. That, that is technically an intermediary. It is the same as if you're using a guided meditation. Right. It's sort of a, A little, a little extra help to get you into that pure energy space. And that's fine, too. I mean, that's, that's, that's how it works. I mean, that's perfect. So you have over 400 different kinds of flow dreams now to choose from on all different things to create, sculpt, move, change in your life. So do check it out.
