Is the universe curious about itself? And if so, what's our place, our purpose in this universe? According to Amrit Sandhu, we do each have a purpose and that purpose is driven by our values. And the universe is constantly nudging us toward those values. So how do we find our core values? And what happens if we adjust course to start first following them more closely? Well, let's find out. Flow Dreaming still kinda Woo Woo is just what it sounds like. An escape into the world of woo. Also a ride into you and how to feel happier, wiser and more self aware in every way. It's your ultimate journey into personal growth and inner power. Will explore ideas like how your energy self influences the kinds of opportunities you encounter, or how your personal growth can drive your business growth, or even how that feeling of being stuck is really always coming from something else. We just have to figure out what. That's right. We're a dash of woo woo. A sprinkle of self care, a heap of problem solving and pattern busting, and a giant cup of incompetent encouragement. We're going to relight so much passion, purpose, self love and confidence in you that you practically stagger. I'm Summer McStravik, your host and welcome to Flow Dreaming. Still Kinda Woo Woo Emorett.
It's so good having you here. How are you?
It is such a pleasure to be here. Thank you so much for having me. Summer. I love your podcast. Pleasure to be here. Thank you, thank you.
And I know everyone's like jealous they can't see the background. You have the most gorgeous orange, purple, pink. It looks like a sunset behind you of beautiful colors. Like maybe your aura is just spread out everywhere so I get to enjoy it even if everybody else can't. I'm so sorry. Maybe I'll do videos someday.
Touchwood. That was actually the inspiration behind all the colors at the Inspired Evolution. It was like, you know, they were trying to initially we were setting up like branding colors and that sort of stuff. It was sunrise and sunset that really spoke to us. So you nailed it. Yeah. Well, you've spotted it. Yeah, just something about the colors and yeah, they just speak to speak to my soul.
Well, speaking of soul, as I've already introduced to everybody, we are going to be talking about our purpose, the purpose of our soul, the purpose of our lifetime. It's a big topic. You know, it's. It's something so many people just lust after and fight for and hunger for and feel like they never achieve it. What, what do you, what's your Opening, you know, discussion about how you find this purpose and what is purpose.
I think a great place to start is to really understand what buries our purpose in some ways. Yeah. Just so you can sort of see what's layered on, on top. Because ultimately you are. I don't want to sound. Well, you are a child of creation, Right. You are created. I was going to say child of God. That sounded very evangelist. Pumped the brakes a little bit there, Emory.
I always say everything. I'm like child of higher power, child of source, child of universe, child of the Lord, like so.
Yeah, the, the ultimate reality is that, you know, we are actually all like, there's two ways of looking at life. Either that, you know, and Einstein put this in a very beautiful, nifty little quote which was, I'm going to butcher it. But either everything is a miracle or either nothing is a miracle. And so either, like, everything has purpose around you or either, like nothing has purpose around you. And the choice is kind of yours, right, to sort of sit with. But life looks very different when you step into either lens or e frame. Now, I believe that everybody has a purpose. Every single person has a purpose. I don't think the universe is just doing what it's doing. Happenstance. I know it's a big question that you ask, so let's get deep in the response. There's a fundamental tenant in the fabric of the universe that is easily observable to some degree because we are the universe looking in on itself, right? So I'm a human being, so I can easily disconnect from the idea that I'm the universe or even part of the Earth or even part of nature. But the reality is I am the molecules that make me up a 99 carbon. It's 99 carbon based reality that we're living in. So we are the universe and everything is carbon. So when we're the universe looking in on ourselves, and as you start to trip into that, you go, okay, why is the universe looking in on itself? Just as a basic sort of question to start. And you realize, well, I don't really know why it's doing it, but it must be curious. Curiosity must be a fundamental tenet of the fabric of everything that we're experiencing as part of this reality, right? And so from there it becomes this journey of, okay, if I'm looking in on myself and I'm curious, there's a reason that I've got, like, the universe exists because it's wanting to look in on itself for some particular reason. We don't know what that reason is. A grand design. Right. And the way I teach purpose, there's the outer purpose and the inner purpose. Right. So the outer purpose is the purpose of the universe. Right. We can look at that as. Imagine a big tsunami, right? Like a massive wave, the wave of life. Yeah. I'm picturing one of those Japanese pictures, you know, that tsunami wave that people have. Like, I don't know why. It's in the background of many spiritual teachers that I know. But, yeah, just that tsunami wave. And that's the overarching purpose, outer purpose of life. And it's doing its thing. It's got to go somewhere. You know, there's a reason. Reason there's been peace, there's a reason there's been war. At times when you study Vedic scriptures, you know, they say we're in, you know, the Kalyug now. Whether we're in different ages, dark ages, light ages, we move through different spaces in time. And then there's the inner purpose of each individual. And the wave is nothing if not for the construct of each little water molecule that makes up the structure of the wave. And each of those water molecules is each of us, each of the plants, each of the waterways that are alive on the planet right now. All of that makes up the structure of the wave. Right? And what I find, and this is coming back to where we started. You know, each of us is a water molecule. We've got our place to play as a per. As the purpose that we have internally to facilitate the outer purpose in life. Yeah, I know. It's been a deep response. Thanks, guys, for following along straight out of the gate. The key thing in there is what I find is for most of us, having coached over 250 people one on one through these journeys, having, you know, the podcast has had millions of downloads now in Touchwood. So one of the key things is we're all trying to be someone we're not. We're all trying to be. We're trying to displace our specific water molecule beingness to another place in the wave where we currently are not. We're not currently situated. And what that generally looks like for most people, I found, and I want to say, like 70 of people, it looks like, you know, white picket fence, large house, red Ferrari, like something nice in the driveway, you know, three kids, four kids. Something like that. Like that. And then living, you know, this abundant lavish life where I've got a holiday home, RA et cetera, et cetera. And the only challenge with that is that's not your place in the overall outer purpose of things. Right. So you feel a lot of stress because you're trying to displace where you are from where you're meant to be. Yeah. So therein lies this real. And then. So why do we feel that way? Why do we have all these stories that are packed on that try to displace us from where we are? And I think it's a great question. I do think things are changing. We are moving into a more feminine time at hand. But we have come from a pretty masculine sort of era, and there's been a lot of push, there's been a lot of capitalism. There's been a lot of things that are marketed to you. There's a lot of do a lot of do, do, do, strive, strive, strive. We're moving into an era of being the more feminine is just to be and allow. Right. So, you know, it starts with your schooling and your education. You know, there's not much preference given to certain subjects, and there's a lot given to others. Right. So you're groomed a certain way. If you're the first person to put your hand up with the right answer, you're groomed a certain way. Right. And then your parents, you come home, you're acknowledged for certain things, you're not acknowledged for other things. You're groomed a certain way. Your friends and then your social circles, as you get a little bit older, you're groomed a certain way, you get a little bit older, you start end up with a little bit of money, marketing, et cetera. Sorry, go on.
Yeah, no, that just sparks a question. When I was initially thinking what I wanted to ask you about purpose, you just stumbled into it right there. You're groomed a certain way, but do you believe also that maybe life in the universe is constantly trying to nudge you or position you? So you may be groomed in one direction, that's toward the white picket fence, but is there an opposite force that's trying to position you back in where you're supposed to be?
I think the force that is putting you back where you're supposed to be is always in effect. Yeah. So that I look at that as soul, I look at that as spirit. I look at like, you know, so I do feel like that force is always in you. And that's why I say all the things that are layered on top. Right. Because your soul, your spirit, however you want to look at it, your higher self, something deeper than just your physical body, whatever you want to look at that as is, always in alignment. I had a bit of an existential crisis as a purpose coach when I realized even when people are off purpose, that's them going straying so that they can go through the hero's journey to come back to their purpose. Right. So you're never actually off purpose, but feeling in a lot, like aligned and not aligned. And the stress that comes from that and the mental toll that that takes on individuals is palpable. Like the void of meaning that people have in their lives right now.
Yeah.
And walking around anxious or depressed globally is a. Is a harrowing statistic. Yeah. So that's kind of where the work is situated for myself. Now, I love where you describe that because it's worth identifying that most. There's many teachers out there that sort of espouse this four levels of consciousness conversation. And I'll keep it super succinct. You know, level one, life is happening to you. You're a bit of a victim. Level two, life is happening by you. You're a bit of an achiever. Yeah. You go out, you set goals, and you get stuff done. Bit alpha. And then level three is where life is happening for you. Yeah. You're in surrender mode. You go into flow a lot more. And that's the perspective that you described. Isn't there a part of you that's always kind of, you know, aligned to your purpose? Absolutely, yeah. And then there's level four, which is, you know, some of the sages live there, which is, life is happening as me. Like, I am one with creation. Creation is happening through me. So I do think, you know, absolutely, you're right, that your purpose is always in effect and always happening. But the nature of the mind and the world and the environment that we live in and the people that we live around and the sort of stories that we're impregnated into encourage us to be someone we're not again and again and again and again. And the stress that comes from that and we're trying to achieve from level two, consciousness is like, come on. Life is that life can happen by me. Like, I've got to just achieve something.
You know, push, shove. Masculine. Yeah.
Be, not be, but do, you know, and strive and push. All that stuff just described. Yeah, that frequency.
Exactly. As an aside, I know exactly the picture you're speaking of. It's the great wave. It's a Japanese prince. And it reminds me of a word that I came across just a few weeks ago. Ikigai. You probably know that. God, they have so many good expressions for so many things that would take us a full paragraph to describe in English. But ikigai, it's like, this is your true life calling. This is the fulfillment of all arts of yourself. And it's reminding me a lot of what we're talking about.
It's the intersection of what you love, what you're good at, what you can be paid for and what the world needs.
You've got it memorized, you've got it.
Down, you can't be the purpose coach. And when you've got the intersection of those. And I love the. If you can look up the Venn diagram for those that are tuning into the audio.
Yeah.
It's worth checking out because it's really cool because you've got what you love and what you're good at. I think you've got a passion. Yeah. And if you've got what you've good at and what you can be paid for, you've got a profession. And if you're in that dry place which a lot of people relate to, it's like, I can be paid for this and the world needs this. You've just got a vocation, right? But if you've got what you love and the world needs it, you've got a mission. But again, at the heart of all of it, when it all comes together, right, that's your icky guy, where it's like, you've got passion, you've got mission, you've got profession, you've got vocation. It's like all stacked on top of itself.
Yes.
What a great place.
But of course, this takes us into the next question. You're just right there of your values, right? That's your passion. That's the. The thing that presumably. Will you tell me? Because finding our purpose seems so hard for so many of us.
Well, let's look at it from that lens, right? Because what you're good at, right? What you love, what the world needs, what you can be paid for, right? So what you can be paid for, the value that you bring to the world, right, you can bring you. What are you like getting value for and what. The value you bring, what the world needs. Again, it's like what the world can get as your existence provide value to it, what you love, what you really value, right? What is it that I genuinely love? Value. What are you good at? Right, again, similar to what can the world value from me that, you know, I can bring the most value around because I could totally be a coach on, you know, I've been in and out of the gym for, like, 15 years now. I could totally coach people on how to go to the gym. Right. But it's not my highest calling. Right. So it's not my highest value that I can add to society. So. And I love where we've landed at values because, like, where you opened the podcast was, you know, it is such a big, nebulous thing around purpose, and it feels so much baggage, so much energy around it for so many people, and it can feel such a. Like, such a constellation. But when you come in to, like, the inner purpose and, you know, remembering the outer purpose in a purpose, the inner purpose of the individual. If you're not clear on how to align yourself to the outer purpose of life, which is where you will feel the most flow. Right.
The key thing, my language there.
Yeah. Right. And the key thing in there is like, okay, what are my values and why is it important to know? And I'm Indian by heritage, so pardon me for sounding this way, but your. Your values are the pillars of your temple. You know, like, your body is your temple, but they really are. Yeah. The. The. The identity, the personality, the person that you are. Right. It is propped up on your values. Now, your soul is almost like the energy in the current that flows through that temple. You can figure out this temple that is erected. And a lot of your values come from the challenges that you've had in life and also the wins and the breakthroughs that you've had in life. Right. But those also weren't coincidental. We touched on that earlier. Like, it was happening for you. Right. So my values, just to give you a bit of an example, connection, contribution, and celebration. Right. These are my three core values. Now I've got other values beyond that as well, but my core values, connection, contribution, celebration. Right. And when you look at what that means to me, like, if, you know, Amrit, you're going to jump on a podcast with Summer. Okay. Do I get to connect? Yes. Do I get to contribute? Hopefully. Will we celebrate? Well, hopefully you guys are feeling the vibes. We're having a great time here. Right. Touch wood. So, yeah, all three of my values are met. Right. But when I look back and where a lot of this was birthed was out of my own challenges with mental health. Like, I had six years of depression when I was, you know, misaligned on so many fronts. We can talk more about that if we need. But, you know, I realized that living out of alignment with my values, you know, one of the examples was seven years of Corporate misalignment, working in the wrong career for myself. Yeah. Feeling like I was plugged into the matrix and literally just being harvested. Sorry, that got dark really fast.
No, no, I think a lot of.
Us can relate to that.
I mean, how often we put ourselves in misaligned situations and then try to tell ourselves over and over, this is good. This is right. This is what I should be doing. Why am I not happy with this? It is a. It is a role of thought until it finally. Something will break it.
Yeah.
Which we don't want to go with those things that break, that is.
But, well, even the breaks are blessings in disguise. Right. When they. When they come through. So the key thing in there is I found, like, I was, you know, working in corporate construction, building high rise towers as an engineer, and, you know, there was no connection. I wasn't connecting to people. You know, the contribution. Yes. I was building some people homes. I was like. But it wasn't really what I wanted to do with people. But, you know, there was some contribution celebration. There was none of that. So, like, maybe half a value or one of my three top three values were being met.
No. No champagne on the top floor of the newly created building.
Really? Get. Get out. Build the next one. Come on, hurry up.
You know, sorry, that's my attempt at a joke.
Sorry I missed the joke because it was such a dire situation for me. But yeah, so that was. That's pretty much what, you know, my top. My. None of my values really showed up in that except for maybe half of one. Now we look at what I do, and it's like, I get to coach. Is there connection, Contribution? Yeah. I get to connect to people deeply, one on one. A contribution. Yes. We're having conversation around purpose celebration. Yes. They're living their life richer, public speaking, podcasting. All of them feel the same. And I'm in alignment.
It feels like you need to. Then once you know what these core values are, which, by the way, everybody, this is your specialty. If you're curious, reach out. We'll have some links for you. But once you know what those values are, you have to inject interests into those. Right. The things that actually inspire you to do. How did you. Like, you landed in podcasting, you landed in this and coaching because that was an interest that correlated with these values. So how. What's that point where you take the interest and figure out if it matches or not?
It's a great question. So for those that want to figure out their values, Amrit Coach values. Super easy. Emrit Coach Values. Same masterclass is Also available at Inspired Evolution.com values the podcast website, or my website, which is one you want to go to. Yeah. And 20 minutes from now, you'll be just as clear as I am. Just, I've got connection contribution celebration. You have yours, and I'm conscious it surprises me every time. It's a 20 minute exercise, it's free, and yet so many people listening won't go do it. The amount of clarity you could have on yourself and all the decisions you need to make in life, your purpose, your direction, like why other people behave differently to you because they've got different values. Like 20 minutes of your time and you can be super clear on your values. But anyway, the nature of your question is interesting. So like I said, going back, our true self, our purpose aligned self, is always present. Right. It's always under there. We just smothered it to some degree. So I didn't start with coaching, I didn't start with a podcast. I didn't start with speaking to keep it succinct. I just did what I wanted to do, which actually started with inviting people over to my house every fortnight. Sorry. For those tuning in from the States, every second week.
That'S like a baker's dozen.
Yeah. Essentially every two weeks, people would come over to my house and I'd open up my living room, brew some chai. It was chai chats and community. And we'd sit around and we just shoot the on philosophy, spirituality, personal development, young in psychology styles, all sorts of different types of stuff. Right. We just talk about it. And I was doing that for about a year, and it was just something I really wanted to do. Like, I just wanted to hang out with my friends without alcohol and just, you know, and I thought if I opened up my home, like, you know, maybe someone will come. And the event was called Mandala Moments, and people were coming over every two weeks. And it just grew and grew and grew and grew until the point people said, actually this is really good. You should start a podcast now. I had massive reservations initially, but then I allowed that to sort of flow into a podcast. Right. And then some of my podcasting audience said, yeah, you know, I'd love you to coach me. And I was like, I've never done it before. No certifications yet. And they're just like, I just want to have the conversations you're having. And I was like, okay. So it was all very organic. And then from there, some of my first podcasting, some of my coaching clients got me my first speaking engagements. So I became a podcaster, coach, speaker from my facilitation in my living room. And it's just you giving permission for that deeper self of you that just really enjoys. I just really enjoy chats. I'm enjoying this with you right now. Right. I'm more energized in the chat than I am before. I rocked up to it. I just know that that's. And we talk about flow, right. The flow comes through because those pillars of your temple you've. You've honored and the energy can move through it. Right. So you already know what they are and you can't hide from it. I found. Right. So take a look at your space around at home. What is. What are you surrounded by? There's books on certain subject matters, even if there's only just a couple. What are those subject topics? And a lot of us spend a lot of time online now. What are the Facebook pages you follow? What are the Instagram accounts you follow? What are the YouTube channels that you're listening to? Why are you always reading up about hot rod cars? Yeah. Like you're just curious about old hot rod cars. Right. Maybe you're into that, you know, and that's part of your purpose. Yeah.
So emorett. I have an old hot rod car.
Just saying.
What do you have?
I have a 1959 Triumph TR3 red British sports cariously.
Oh, my God. I'm tapping into your alter ego right now. I can feel it.
Me and me like a buck right now.
Yeah. You know, and you can't turn that off. Right. Like, that's just part of who you are and you're inspired by it. It's called the inspired evolution because it literally these things on a daily basis, they're those little sneaky little nuggets where you go instead of it draining you, you go. Like the breath animates you around it. Yeah. So it gives you energy. And you're like, I'm inspired by this. Rather than. I need motivation to go get this done. Like external begrudgery. But inspiration guides your way and then that's in and around all this stuff that you've got already in your environment. The conversations you're having with your friends, the conversation you're having with your. With yourself through your social media. Let that bring it back to you and carve out some space to try and honor those interests, you know? I loved your question. Honor those interests. Carve out some time. What does it look like if I do this? Like, it was a bit of work to Open up my house every two weeks to get people to come over and shoot the shit around. Chats that I love. But it was super rewarding. Yeah. So up to you. You know, for some people, it's like getting out and running marathons. For other people, it's volunteering. For other people, it's, you know, writing, like making a graffiti magazine. It can be so many different things. Right. One of my clients, her whole thing, she was like a chartered accountant for so many years, and now she's a Instagram pottery influencer. What the. It's like.
But so she had the interest of pottery because it probably was reaching her core values. I like to make things. I like beauty and I like something that. And I like to be of service. Right. To create something of value and worth.
She loved what was happening with her hands when she was playing with clay. Like, it was just an interest. Right. And the beauty and everything else you described was totally in there. But the connection that she felt. Obviously, connection is my highest value, so I'm going to look at that. Right. But the connection she felt when she was playing with clay, she was just like. She was in. You know, she was like, time would dilate. You talk about flow. Right. She was just. I could do this all day, every day. And she just went along with it and continued to cultivate it. And a year later, things completely were different in her external reality, because now she's just doing this all the time.
Yeah. All right, so a slight shift in direction. There's finding your purpose, and then there's finding your purpose again. And then there's finding another purpose. Do you think that that's a real thing? That your purpose, your purpose can shift and change through your life? Because I know, just for me, for a long time, my purpose was about words and books, and then it became more about my family, and then it became more about the work I do with others. So these are. These are interests. But does your purpose grow or evolve or change?
Yeah, look, I think we have multiple purposes at any given time. And that's why I like the values conversation. Because, again, purpose can be so. I don't want to say fuddy duddy, but it can be. So. Yeah, nebulous is the right word. Yeah, nebulous. It could be nebulous. But if I look at my values. Yeah. Connection, contribution, celebration. Yeah. And I'll just use myself as an example so it's relatable for people. Right. Again, 20 minutes and you'll have your own values. I just don't know why. So Many people won't go get it.
I'm gonna go do it right after we're done taping, just so you know. You're gonna see it come through on your computer and you'll be like, oh, that's summer. Oh, that's interesting.
Yeah. So the key thing in there, my values were connection, contribution, celebration. Now, I thought I just had a massive life event two years ago, Right. My son was born and I thought, if there's ever anything that's gonna change my values, it's this. Yeah. Now this goes to show how good the exercise I did. No, sorry, part of me. But it goes to show if you've got your core values, the core values. Core is a really great word to tune into in there just for the semantics. Right. Because connection, contribution, celebration. Prior to my son being born, I still was connection oriented, but it was more about my friends. Yeah. And it was more about growing an online community and the impact I wanted to have. Absolutely. I changed, but connection still remained. Now it's like connecting with my son. Yeah. And my wife on a whole nother level. Right. Like, what's the ideal weekend? It's like sitting at home, running around outside on the trail with my son, watching him, like, chase butterflies and all this cool sort of stuff. Yeah. So it's still connection, but it has morphed into connecting broadly to current. Connecting deeply. Right. So it's. So I did a pretty good job touchwood through the exercise to find out what my core value was. Yeah. So I've got connection, contribution. I still really want to contribute. Previously it was like this massive impact that I wanted to have to the world and that is still alive in me. But now it's also, I want to show my son that it's possible, Right. To make a living through contribution through positive impact in the world. And that has brought the whole conversation around impact. It's still alive, the external. But I'm also internally driven from my family unit to go, hey, you can do what you want. You don't have to live a life. Of all the stories that we discussed earlier, right. Like, you can live in alignment to who you are and you know, your dad's doing it to some degree. Touch wood. To some degree. Let's not get carried away. Yeah. And so that's the contribution now. Yeah. So it's brought at that little bit closer to home and celebration. Now, before it was like, you know, these external wins with my friends, with my family. Having my birthday this year, my birthday was so, like, I used to have like 60 people, 70 people. My wife used to surprise me with all these people at my birthday. It was amazing. Right. Touchwood. And this year it was like, no, I just want to go away with my wife and my son. And that was the celebration. So. But it still felt so good. Right. Because those are my values. Connection, contribution, celebration. So if you've got your core values, absolutely. You will change, but how life shows up within those values will just be slightly different. Right. And it will evolve with you. But those are the pillars of the temple that is you, that is erected in this lifetime. If you've done the exercise correctly, yes, you will change and evolve. But your core values, I found, and I was surprised because I wanted to. I wanted them to change. I wanted to stress test the values exercise when I became a dad. But they remained. Like the integrity of them remained. It was just the energy shifted around them. Yeah. Does that make sense?
Absolutely. I know you've got to go soon, but I am just fascinated with this. I would hold you for another half an hour if I could, but I have one last question then. Okay. Do you feel that the values that you have are part of a lineage? Do you feel that you're, like, you mentioned your son. Do you think your son is probably going to have similar values to you? Or that we have family groups or soul groups that maybe can show us those values and. Or do you think sometimes we're born into families with very different values than us that we try to. Like you were saying earlier, the square peg in the round hole. We're trying to. We accidentally wear someone else's values for too long.
Yeah. A great question. Yes, we surface level, wear each other's values. But that's again, those aren't. That's not your core values. That's again, part of the soup. Right. Programming us from before. The societal soup. Sorry, I should probably be a bit more specific. I know what I'm talking about.
Yeah. I was gonna say, I was thinking soup. Like Superman. I watch all the more. I watch all the sci fi. So I'm like a soup. Yeah, I'm a soup.
The societal soup and the environment program. Right. But your core values, yeah. There's a school of thought to tune into which we chose to come to Earth to pick a certain set of lessons to learn this particular life. Right. Touchwood. Now in there you've even got relationships, karmic relationships. Soul contracts with certain people. Right. That will teach you certain things and you know, in certain points in time. And it's an amazing time to be alive because of the density that's around this particular era of living according to some scriptures. It's an opportunity to really clear through karmic work because it is dense and if you are upbeat about it, you can actually move through a lot of stuff. Touch wood. I think that's the philosophy. Not an expert entirely in that space, but that's what I've learned through my podcasting. Now, when you zoom out to that level, providing that context, your values are. Because, yes, they're influenced. Your core values, yes, there are influenced by certain things, but they're also influenced by. Because you made it sound like they rub off. Other people's values rub off on us. But also the void of your values are driven a lot by some of the other people. Right. Like, you might look back at your relationship with either your mother or your father, and there may be like, let's take me as an example, maybe there was a lack of. Lack of connection there. I'm not saying there was. Right. But just as an example, maybe there was a lack of connection there. And that has informed how Amrit, the house plant, reaches for the sun, looking for connection and now connection. He's so good at seeking it out and looking at it and brewing it that now that's the value he brings to the world. Right? Touchwood connection. So it's not so much that, oh, yeah, there's just a sea of values floating around, around everybody and. And we're just sort of rubbing and rubbing up and picking them up. And that is probably just surface level values, which, you know, again, is putting us off kilter on our purpose. But getting in touch with your core values, those are your. Again, that's your rudder. Right? And those are informed by your biggest voids and your biggest successes. But I don't think those are just happenstance. I think you were also programmed in this life, Touchwood, to some degree to experience those epic challenges and those epic wins. Right? And that's your hero's journey through this lifetime. And that informs your core values and who you really are. Does that answer your question?
Yes, it does. I have a. I said it was the last question. But what is touch wood? Is that like when I say knock on wood?
Because knock on wood. Yeah, knock on wood. I've got an American. Actually, I shouldn't talk about that.
Yeah, can't talk about your clients on air.
Come on. No, she always calls me out on it. She's just like. Always calls me out on it. She's like, you always touching. I'm Indian. Indians have these superstitions There we go. I said it again.

Too kind. Thank you.
All right, we'll be in touch. Oh, my gosh.
Can't you just tell from his voice how beautiful a soul Amrit is? And those three core values, I kid you not. After we taped this interview together, I went and I did them. Do you want to know my results? All right, so here they are. The first one was security, which I understand. I grew up in a very insecure home, financially, emotionally, in many ways. So security for me has been a driving force for myself and for my own family, for my kids. I want to give them a bedrock that they can always count on. Rely on the next one, freedom. Which is interesting because freedom and security seem kind of opposite, right? How can you be secure and free? Like, doesn't one tie you down and one let you loose? But the freedom that I came into was I have the freedom to think how I want to think, behave, be, explore. Like, no, hold back. Just let me at it. Let me go. Let me go into life. Let me try things, explore things. As long as I have a secure tether, you know, to the ground, I'll go anywhere. And then finally, the third core value that came up for me was expression. And I gotta tell you, all of his. This exercise, it really asks you to drill down. Expression for me could have been creativity, productivity, accomplishment, recognition, but it came down to expression, the ability to say, here's who I am in this form and that form, this medium, that medium, this book that I write, this course, this podcast, this let's talk, right? Let's be expressive, let's share, communicate, think, expound upon, ask questions. And those of you who've listened to my podcast for the last 20 years know that's exactly what lights me up. So it was kind of weird drilling down. I don't know if these are my only three values, as Amrit says, but they did give me some insight into what drives me and where the universe is guiding me and some of the bigger patterns, lessons, observations and understandings that maybe I came here to learn. Anyway, I hope this interview, this lovely conversation discussion with Amar inspired you as well. Please do not forget you can always visit his gorgeous podcast Inspired Evolution.
