A single-speaker YouTube short advising founders to cultivate flexibility. The speaker argues that while founders often make plans and assumptions, real-world feedback frequently requires shifting course—particularly in areas like marketing, messaging, audience targeting, and outreach cadence—and recommends developing the ability to pivot rather than rigidly sticking to original plans.
A skill set that's often not talked about as a founder is about being flexible. Everybody can kind of come up with plans, make assumptions, say this is what we think it's going to be. And sometimes that works out, sometimes it doesn't. And if it doesn't, it's about being flexible, moving to the next thing. Everybody typically comes with best intentions or best visions of what they think it is. But until you start doing the work, start getting some responses back, you know, sometimes you just gotta shift. So if you're somebody who's very rigid and you're just like, nope, you said you're gonna do this, it's got to be like this. Probably not going to be successful working with other people. You know, this is like, in my world, it's a lot of work, right? Thinking about your marketing, messaging, your audience, the Personas we're going after, how often do we need to reach out, right? There's just so many variables that, you know, you do your best. Sometimes you gotta pivot and try again. So work on that skill set. If you don't have it, become flexible around your project, around your marketing later.
