Jeff "Fuzzy" Wenzel delivers a short, candid message to a potential client explaining that rapid, magical startup growth ('unicorn' results) cannot be delivered in a trial or with no budget. He emphasizes the need for real marketing systems—CRM/fundraising workflows, repeated touch points, personalization, funnel inversion and automation—rather than one-off paid ads or occasional social posts.
I just got the old email from a potential client who's just like, hey, Jeff, can you give me some solution? We've been burned by a bunch of other agencies, and we want to, like, have basically spend no money. And if you can get kind of tell us how to get to about a hundred thousand dollars, like, we'd be willing to kind of do a trial run with you. Like, I. I'm not, like, I'm not a magician. I don't. I just made a video message for this guy because I'm like, you kind of asked me, can I create a unicorn in a trial mode for you? Like, and if I can produce this, like, then, no, no, no. That's not how any of this works. And the only thing that's frustrating in these types of scenarios is I've said this kind of over and over and over. If you're not building out a fundraising CRM system, you're not hitting people a lot of times, you're not flipping the marketing funnel upside down and giving them lots of opportunities to kind of dive in deep, deeper, then it's not going to be successful. If you think that the answer is, I'm just going to run a bunch of paid media or I'm just going to post a couple times on LinkedIn, you're not in reality. Okay, so, nope, I can't produce unicorns. I don't breed them over here. I don't. It's not my specialty. I do real work and I build out touch points and workflows and automations and personalization and multiple touch points and all that sort of stuff as effectively as possible. And if that makes sense, then we can work together. But if your question is, can I breed you a unicorn for no money? That answer is nope.
