Jeff Wenzel, CEO of Pre-IPO Hype, argues that capital raises should be treated as marketing campaigns, not just funding exercises. Success depends on a strong founder story, clear brand, defined investor personas, and multichannel strategy. He's run nearly 300 campaigns and warns that viewing investors as only money sources is a losing approach.

The raise you're doing is not about funding. It's actually a marketing campaign, and if you can reframe that in your mind, you will have a lot more success. It's not just about getting capital in and rushing out and, "Oh, now we've got— now we've raised our money." It's really about you building your narrative, your story, your brand, your, you know, your communications, your personas. All of those things are going into this. So if you approach crowdfunding, like equity crowdfunding, or just doing any sort of investment public campaign, and you just think investors are gonna see it and give you money, you are mistaken. It is a marketing, marketing campaign first and foremost. So reframe your mind, think about it that way, and now approach, all right, do we have our brand in order? Do we have our personas? Do we have our communication aligned? Do we have the right channels? Is it multichannel? Is our founder's brand, and our founder story present enough? Do you need to work on those things, right? Those are huge, huge things to be focused on. And if you're not, you are thinking about this wrong. Hey, I'm Jeff "fuzzy" Wenzel, CEO of Pre-IPO Hype. I've done almost 300 campaigns at this point in my life on almost every single platform out there. If you're thinking about doing a raise before you launch, connect with me, just have a conversation. All right, hope you're well.
