Tell me about the Wall Street Journal bestselling book, The Gravity of Up. Was this recovery journey you were on— is that the inspiration behind the book?
No, sir. My transformation happened almost 19 years ago. And when she met me, I'd already transformed into who you see today, the guy that thrives and wants to be better and looking for more and always knowing the right people around him are going to get us where we want to go. All those things that I hope we get to cover. But ultimately, when that occurred, she met me, she'd heard the stories, and then we were a year together, she started meeting the people. And then after we got married, really meeting the pastors and the life coaches and the trainers that finally she got to meet and understanding the transformation by those people that I told stories about. Now they got to tell their stories to her. And so for about 5 years, she kept saying, you need to document this in a book. And I kept saying, I kind of get it, but I don't want to take the time. I don't want to really reveal how I lost my health. That's not an easy thing to do. And I just didn't want to take the time.
