Gary Brecka asks parents if they'd die for their child, then argues that real commitment means adopting daily habits like whole foods, cold plunging, and better sleep. The point: you can't show up for your kids if you're running on empty.

How many of you would die for your child? It's interesting. I'll talk to parents all the time, sometimes when I'm lecturing and I'll say if you would die for your child, would you change your diet for your child? Would you actually be disciplined enough to take care of yourself for your child? The chance of you having to lay down your life for your child is virtually zero. If you're willing to give that level of commitment why not actually bring that down to a practical level like cold plunging whole food dieting, trying to manage your sleep and take care of yourself. Why won't you make the simple commitments that would actually make you a more present parent and be a lot more present by doing things that would actually give you the energy to actually spend time and enjoy time with your kids. And you can see like the light switch goes off and they're like today's the day I'm going to switch up my diet.
