Gary Brecka shows how to turn a morning walk into a strength workout by adding a weighted vest and doing lunges, squats, and step-ups on park benches. He says the added stress combats muscle loss, boosts metabolism, and raises norepinephrine and dopamine.

All right, so I'm out for my morning walk. Love putting a little bit of weight on, you know, it just makes it so easy to do bodyweight exercises and just add some weight. You can actually just do walking lunges, um, with this. You can do static air squats just past the grass, just get all the way down, stand all the way back up. And then I find these little benches and I just do some step-ups on these benches, just actually getting my knees to 90, stepping up with a single leg and then stepping back down. 10-15 on each side, back around the park. Then I take my shoes off and just touch the ground. Very simple. Stress your body. That hormetic stress fights sarcopenia. It boosts your metabolism. It raises norepinephrine and dopamine, which makes you feel amazing. And just by adding weight, you can actually get more out of less.
