A multi-voice performance traces a family's escape from war to New York's Lower East Side, weaving together memories of poverty, pogroms, and the struggle to keep faith and tradition alive across generations. Speakers emphasize how rabbis and intellectuals preserved religious identity, and how mutual support and shared spiritual purpose sustained the community.

Poverty and pogroms took us from our farms. The freedom of the city in the 19th century. The struggles and the challenges and how we managed to keep tradition going when the winds of change were blowing. Assimilation, education, rabbis of the generation, defending our principles, enlightened intellectuals, near annihilation, a religion or a nation, survival, revival, and our final destination.
Generation to generation, only trial and tribulation.
We've been through so much together, sharing a vision, a vision forever.
Generation to generation, on a spiritual mission. Spiritual destination.
There's so much we can learn from each other.
We gotta be there for one another.
Generation to generation, all the trial and tribulation.
We've been through so much together, sharing a vision, a vision forever.
Generation to generation on a spiritual destination.
There's so much we can learn from each other.
We gotta be there for one another.
