Your messaging needs to stand out from the messaging of your competitors. The only way to do that is to use words, phrases, and visual imagery that's dramatically different from others. Using the words and image concepts that everybody else uses gets you to messaging mediocrity. Sure, your customers and website visitors might get what you're about, but subconsciously they're skimming over your content with minimum recall and interest. Instead of curiosity and attention, you're getting eye rolls, which is obviously the exact opposite of what you want your messaging to do. So just like cover bands don't play large arenas, #MeToo messaging won't generate pipeline. So don't copy what the others are doing and head down the road of messaging mediocrity. Instead, be brave enough to go for novelty, distinctiveness, and upending of the status quo.
