Glen Gould walks through how to get the most out of Chamber membership. Check the calendar weekly at first, attend different events to see who shows up, and read the emails even though there are a lot of them.
Chapters
The second thing you want to do is you want to make sure you check the Chamber calendar. Now you've joined the Chamber and now you want to check the calendar and find out what's going on. And you want to do this on a regular basis. In the beginning, you want to do it every, every week. Just check the calendar and find out what types of events are going on. I recommend in the beginning that you attend one of everything. And get a lay of the land. You don't have to do that all in the first month. You can do it over the period of 6 months if you want to, but kind of get a lay of the land as to who comes to what types of events. This will help you in meeting the people you want to meet. We'll talk about that again in a little bit further. You'll learn a lot about what the chamber has to offer just by looking at the calendar alone. Now, you'll probably also get on their email list, and sometimes it'll seem overwhelming. You'll get a lot more email than you need But the fact is, in the beginning for sure, make sure you look at all of it and get a good feel for what's going on.
