Welcome to Mama Goddess. I'm your host, Alexandra J. Johnson. This podcast is all about rocking your goddess life, creating vibrant health and celebrating motherhood and family life. It's about living an authentically awesome life. Let's have.
Hello, this is Alexandra. Welcome to another Optimize Plus One. It's 6:45am I'm sitting down with the kids at the kitchen table having breakfast. They're having a smoothie and yucca and avocado. I'm drinking a warm tea smoothie drink. I'm reading my morning books. I have about four to seven that I read from that help me start my day right. This day I was reading the Golden Present by Sri Swami Satchitananda. The daily inspiration is all about using the mantra Om throughout the day and during meditation. I usually try to read some of my books with the kids. Sometimes they listen, but most of the time they don't. My hope is that maybe the wisdom seeps into their unconscious in some way. So as I'm reading out loud about Om and the mantra, Emerson says, ohm butt cheeks. Then I say, how did you know that it says that? That's exactly how he says, you should meditate. He laughs and wonders if he really does say that. I say, no, but it would be pretty funny, wouldn't it?
Om butt cheeks.
I'm sure we would all reach spiritual enlightenment much faster if we used that mantra. We then start laughing as we all practice our new mantra.
Om butt cheeks. Oh, butt cheeks.
I'm going all in. The kids are doing it too. We are cracking up. It's pretty ridiculous. Oh.
1, 2, 3, Oh.
Then Eleanor puts her hands over her ears and says that it's too loud. So we stop. We continue eating our breakfast, and I navigate. Eleanor's upset because Emerson drank some of her smoothie. Spiritual lesson for the morning complete. As I reflect on this experience, I wonder, how is this not part of my spiritual training? I'm not transcending this world, blissfully meditating in silence, doing deep study and contemplation. Yet I am reading spiritual text. I'm shepherding little people into their day in a slow and connected rhythm. I'm oming and laughing and supporting them in how to communicate their needs. Connection, laughter, communication, levity, and definitely creativity. Because I would have never added butt cheeks to an Om mantra and and therefore I wouldn't have laughed nearly as much. That sounds like some good soul medicine to me. So if you're feeling spiritually inclined today, use the mantra own butt cheeks. You'll at least get a good laugh in there and it might just make your day feel a bit more enlightened. And if you don't want to do that, then maybe look for all the ways that you might be missing this space spiritual work you're doing in a day that may be masquerading as mundane activities. Sending you big love and blessings and om cheeks.
