In this episode of the Mama Goddess podcast, host Alexandra J. Johnson opens with an invitation to live an authentically awesome, vibrant life centered on motherhood and family. She foregrounds the Joseph Campbell quote “The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are,” reflecting on its meaning, defining “privilege” as a rare, pleasure‑bringing opportunity, and urging listeners to imagine a life fully embraced by that belief. Alexandra then shares a poem from Mr. Rogers—“It’s You I Like”—reading it aloud to illustrate the power of self‑acceptance beyond external appearances. The episode weaves together personal emotion, a reminder that each person is inherently worthy, and a call to celebrate one’s true self daily. It concludes with a warm invitation to connect via mamagoddess.com, sending love, blessings, and encouragement to keep “rocking” one’s goddess life.
Welcome to Mama Goddess. I'm your host, Alexandra J. Johnson. This podcast is all about rocking your goddess life, creating vibrant health and celebrating motherhood and family life. It's about living an authentically awesome life. Let's have some fun.
Hello, this is Alexandra. Welcome Back to another optimize +1. The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are. Joseph Campbell. Close your eyes and breathe that one in. It's a powerful healing message, a potent healer. The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are. Are. Let it sink in. The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are. I get goosebumps and feel the emotions well up when I hear that. What would our lives look like if we truly believed this? I looked up privilege in the dictionary and this is the definition. I like the something regarded as a rare opportunity and bringing particular pleasure. Yes, being who we are is a rare opportunity. A once in a lifetime opportunity that can bring us immense pleasure. It's not trying to be like someone else.
It's.
It's being who you are. We've been really into Mr. Rogers over here lately, watching the Won't yout Be My Neighbor documentary and reading his books and a poem that I feel captures the essence of this idea is it's you I like. And I'm gonna read it to you. Here it is. It's you I like. It's not the things you wear. It's not the way you do your hair. It's you I like the way you are right now. The way deep down inside you. Not the things that hide you. Not your toys, they're just beside you but it's you I like. Every part of you. Your skin, your eyes, your feelings. Whether old or new. I hope that you remember, even when you're feeling blue, that it's you I like. It's you yourself. It's you, it's you I like so good. Beautiful reminder for all of us at any age. As you go about your day today, remember it's you we like. Live your life like it's a rare opportunity, daring to be you. Because the privilege of a lifetime is being who you are. Sending you big love and blessings.
We hope you enjoyed this episode of Mama Goddess. Sending you lots of love and blessings. If you'd like to connect more, go to mamagoddess.com until next time. Keep rocking it and have an awesome day.
