Following dreams + trusting your intuition
15 Mar 2021 · 0 min
In this episode of the Mama Goddess podcast, host Alexandra J. Johnson shares a personal narrative about listening to her intuition, declaring a long‑held vision of living on land with a tiny house, and turning that vision into reality by purchasing a forest property. She recounts the process of spotting the right land, making a rapid offer, and feeling a deep sense of certainty that the move was meant to be. Johnson frames this experience within the larger context of the COVID‑19 pandemic and global social movements, describing the timing as “divine” and a catalyst for personal and collective transformation. Drawing on the hero’s journey archetype, she encourages listeners to recognize their own dreams, trust their inner guidance, and act despite doubt, citing Eleanor Roosevelt’s and Joseph Campbell’s teachings on belief in dreams and following one’s bliss. The episode concludes with a call to connect via mamagoddess.com, reinforcing the message that individual creative pursuits can positively impact families, communities, and the world.
Welcome to Mama Goddess. I'm your host, Alexandra J. Johnson. This podcast is all about rocking your goddess life, creating vibrant health and celebrating motherhood and family life. It's about living an authentically awesome life. Let's have some fun.
Everyone. It's Alexandra. How are you? It's been a while since I've done a video. Probably like almost a year since I've done a video. I think maybe life, homeschooling kids, etc. I just haven't done them. But I'm excited to be back doing some videos. And today's video is really about following your dreams, trusting your intuition, and going for what you want. Because I think that is so important for us personally and also as a world to really see, stay connected to our power and to our creative dreams and what we want for our lives and what we want for the world. So just a little background of where I've been, what we've been doing, etc. We recently just moved across country to a forest, as you can see. So we. The somewhat short story is that I had been having visions of having land and having a small, smaller house and having a tiny house and you know, kind of having our recording studio and just having like just this little sanctuary on some land in a forest and we lived in a great town. I love, I loved our life where we were. I did. It was just amazing. We didn't have any land, but I just loved. We had a great life. Our kids were born at home in the house that we owned and, and we just had. I had such a connection with that city. So it was, I doubted my vision and. But yet it kept coming up and up again, you know, as they do those things that we're supposed to be doing that just keep coming up again and again until we declare it and take action. So this was kind of like that. And then I think one day I just got clear and I said, you know what? I love my life here and it's amazing. But this is just the vision that I, that I see for our family. So I kind of make this declaration and I wrote down that I wanted to have less house, more land, and more nature. And I'd been seeing it in my mind, so I was very clear on what I wanted. And then I just got to work. I was like, okay, I'm going to find it. And I've looked over the years and I haven't. Nothing's really been it, like looking at it and I'm like, ah, this is it, this is it. But not that and yada yada. So anyways, I found this property, like it was listed within hours or something and I found it and I called Patrick who was with Brian while Brian was recording and I said, hey, Brian needs to call me. Brian called me. I said, I found it, I found the house. We need to put an offer like, come home, let's get this going. So he came home, looked at it and was like, oh my gosh, this is awesome and perfect. So basically we had an offer in a few hours and then Brian flew out and presented the offer and they accepted our offer. And we were in the process of buying the house and it was just truly amazing and we were just so in love with this house. And it felt so right. It was just that feeling of like, this is it. And I know you've had those moments too where you just are so clear, so clear. And then you're like, this is it. And in the process there's a lot of this is not it, this is not it, this is not it. But for me, it was just really inspiring and reinvigorating for me of like trusting in myself and trusting in dreams and whatever our dreams and our visions are for our life, like that we must go for them. That is, you know, God, life force, whatever flowing through us that is guiding us to the next evolution of our, of our soul, of our lives. So it's really important that we listen to those. Got some little birds over there. So yeah, so this video is really just about, you know, what is it that you maybe are dreaming about? What are you going for? Where are you in the process of the dream? Are you not 100% sure yet? Are you still, you know, testing it out? Are you fully going for it? Are you having doubt? You know, it's the amazing hero's journey that there's so many dynamic aspects of, of the hero, heroines journey. So just to really, I love the quote, Eleanor Roosevelt, the future belongs to those who believe in their dreams. And I think that is so true. And I think especially where we are right now in the world, you know, I mean we, we were in the process of buying this house and then, well, seven days after, you know, we put our offer in, then there was the pandemic. Like literally the world just started shutting down. So it was like perfect, divine timing because if it would have been a week later, like we wouldn't have flown, we wouldn't have been as excited to move because the world was so just, things were so different. So I find that fascinating too. But in this pandemic that we're going through and the challenges and the transformation of, like, the bike, the Black Lives Matter, and all that is just coming up globally, I think, is a call for transformation. So there's the systemic things that are happening on so many levels that's really calling us forward. And I think it's really calling us forward to be who we, who we're here to be and then also to be the change that we want to see. And that comes with our dreams and our creative visions. Like, that's there. There's that important vitality that comes from having those dreams, trusting your intuition, trusting yourself and following them, and then just keep staying the path and really owning your power and your creative power to create the life that you want and therefore impacting the world and whatever that is for you, however you want to impact the world. I believe that everybody who is following their dreams and their passions and their creativity and doing things for love and joy, that that is going to make the world a better place. Even when we're in this crisis and this, these global transformational opportunities that we have to really elevate our consciousness and really elevate the world. So even though it's a challenging time, it's also really an exciting time for us to step up, you know, for ourselves, for our families, for our communities, for the world, and really be the heroes of our own lives and really trust those dreams and follow our bliss. I love that quote from Joseph Campbell. Joseph Campbell. And it's been a guiding principle for me for 20 years to follow my bliss. And when we all follow our bliss and really hone in on our authentic self, our authentic desires, there's just such. There's such joy and such beauty and such creativity and love that arises. So I just, I really am inspired by people following their dreams and trusting themselves, going, you know, listening to their intuition, going for their authentic desires and rocking it. So that's the video for today. That is what has been happening for me over here. And I'm super excited to be doing more videos. Grateful that you're here watching. I'm sending you so much love and gratitude and blessings, and I hope you.
