After You Attain Your Goal. It's Time To Change Your Goal

Greg Ryan explains why he set a new goal after reaching his 2021 aim to help listeners destroy doubts through the Bible. He adopted a six-day work rhythm with Sabbath rest and chose podcasting as his ministry platform. The episode introduces a series on seeking God's kingdom first and understanding His seasonal order of seedtime and harvest.
Welcome to episode 31. Let's go to the Gospel of John 1:1.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. Spending time in the Word of God is the best way to spend time with God. Welcome to No Doubt, No Fear, Only Believe podcast, where we will encourage inspire, and empower you to live your best life in Christ. Here's Greg.
Welcome to episode 31. If this is your first time here, thank you for stopping by, and if you've been here before, thank you for coming back. I'm going to kick this episode off with saying, hey, it's time to reset our goals and standards. When you set a goal and you hit the goal, well, then you've got to re— you got to recreate something new. And that's what I'm doing here. I— on episode 31, I'm going to take a little bit of a turn. If you've listened to episode 30, you'll know that I decided on episode 30 to go 6 days and then take the Sabbath, or the 7th day, off so as to not continually break the Ten Commandments. I'm gonna work 6 days and take a day off, just like God did when he created the world. I'm going to imitate my Lord, and I am going to take a day off myself. Before I decided to do my podcast, I had decided to make some changes. A lot of deciding going on at the beginning of 2021, but I decided to make some changes. I made a declaration on Facebook, and I really have never done a lot on Facebook or Instagram. I did way back in the day, I did a little bit of Twitter, but I got tired of that really quick. But I wrote it. I wrote a declaration out, and before I even decided to do this podcast, I wrote this declaration. I didn't really know how it was all going to turn and twist, but here, here it is. To those who I can help, I promise to spend the rest of 2021 dedicated to helping you destroy your doubts and fears. I'm going to do this by sharing what I've learned about in the Bible, with you so that maybe you can turn to the Bible for your answer instead of Google, Twitter, or Facebook. I won't do a perfect job of this, and I'll probably stumble along the way, but I give you my word that I'll give you my best. Well, that was it. That was my declaration that I wrote out, and it was a little bit harder to read than it was to write. But I had decided before, and I really didn't know what I was going to do, but I knew I was going to make some changes. And I then was challenged with all of this going on. I was also challenged to either blog 30 days in a row, YouTube video 30 days in a row, or podcast. And so I chose— obviously I chose to podcast. And this is day 31, so I created a podcast and did all the things that I needed to do. And now I've gotten through that challenge, and now the next step is why I'm gonna after that. And that's what I wanted to talk to you about, is we need to— once we hit our goals in life, if you make goals and you try to reach them or attain them, then you got to be ready to make the next one. And I've got to make some changes. I'm going to continue because part of what I said is I, I promised to spend 2021— so that's the whole rest of the year that I was going to dedicate to helping you destroy your doubts and fears. I, I just am so tired of all of the anger and all of the hate and all of the fear and all of the doubts and all of the unbelief and all of the division, all of that stuff. And if you've listened to the podcast before, you know that I've been consistent with this. But I want— if you're listening to this, I want you to be able to go to the Bible, and I wanted you to see my imperfect actions as I try to follow a perfect God. And that we do not have to do this perfectly. We're just trying to imitate. My goal is to imitate Jesus. It's not to be Jesus. In fact, I say over and over again that I make a horrible Holy Spirit. I didn't write one word of the Bible, so I'm not holding myself to the standard that I'm God. I'm just a reflection or try to be sometimes a reflection of God to people who may or may not know him. You know, if someone looks at me, I hope— I mean, I hope they would look at the Bible. I hope if I got a chance to say something to somebody, I would say, "Look, if you see something in me or hear something that I've done or that I've said that makes you— I wonder if that's true— I want you to be able to go to the Bible and check it out." You know, I don't have all this down perfect. Trying, I'm striving to get better every day. And that's what I want to talk about. I want to— I'm going to kind of tweak this podcast a little bit, and I want to talk about how we— everybody just seems to be in such a hurry. The pace of life has gotten so fast and so instant. Like, we have an Instant Pot, and we like our Instant Pot. It cooks the food quicker. We have, you know, we cook instant potatoes. They're not as good as the— as a real potato, but we cook it because it's quicker. We go through fast food restaurants through the drive-through, and it, you know, it's fat. We gotten so used to things being like right now. I want us to just pull back. And part of my Facebook, if you go to— if you have liked the Facebook page, you'll see that I put scripture up there, but I also put saying or quotes from people, older people, people that have died in the past, and when things weren't as fast and where they had, you know, pondered life and they were— it was a little bit slower pace and they looked at the way things were and then they wrote a quote. And so I'm picking and choosing some of those quotes and I really enjoy them and I hope you would like them too.. But I pick and choose quotes and put them up on the Facebook page so that, you know, we can ponder that together. And since this is Bible-based, I have got to have it based on a scripture. Scripture that I think is one of the key scriptures I try to make a standard in my life is, "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." And That was Jesus talking, and you know, it was talking about food and clothes and those kind of things. But Jesus said, look, your Father knows about all that. I know that's in Matthew 6, and it's 6:33. Jesus was talking in the previous verses about all of the things that people were going after, and Jesus said, Father God knows of all those things that you need., but he said, "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you." And so, you know, as I'm studying, and what is the kingdom of God? I think the kingdom of God is God, in this instance, is God's way of doing things. That's kind of how I've got it translated. One of the things that I saw in Genesis 8, when Noah got off of the boat or the ark, I guess is a better way to say it. In Genesis 8:22, while the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease. Ever since God, when he gave Noah the rainbow, and he said, look, I'm not gonna flood the earth again, but while you're here, while mankind is here, these will remain. And it's seedtime and harvest, it's cold and heat, it's winter and summer. You know, we're going to have the seasons, we're going to have seedtime and harvest. You're going to plant. And that's kind of what I wanted to talk about in these next 4 or 5 episodes. And that's one of the changes I'm going to make, is I'm going to— for a week, I'm going to talk about one topic, and I'm going to dig into that one topic and And then the next week, if I've come to a conclusion, I'm gonna start a new topic. But this one's gonna be kinda slowing down and getting into the Word of God and seek first the kingdom of God, God's way of doing things. And we're gonna start looking into seed time and harvest, and we're gonna look at slowing things down a little bit. I just believe that we've gotten to too fast a pace. We're trying to do too many things at once. We've gotten way too busy. We're— I, I say we're spinning too many plates and chasing our tail, going around in a circle. And then if we don't do like 27 things in one day, we feel like we've had a horrible day. And I'm going to address all that. It may take me 2 weeks to get through all this, but I'm going to give it a go. We're going to get into Seek First the Kingdom of God, God's way of doing things and all of these things will be added to you. So that's what we're going to dig into in the next few episodes. I hope that you come back to hear how I get this thing started, but I just wanted to kind of tell you that, hey, I'm not going anywhere. I'm going to do this. I've enjoyed doing this. I'm going to talk about seed time and harvest and slowing things down in the next episode. But thanks for joining me today, and I look forward to meeting with you tomorrow.
