In this YouTube Bible study, Greg Ryan (host of Jesus Mighty Men and the podcast No Doubt, No Fear, Only Believe) examines John 6:22‑71, focusing on Jesus’ statement to “eat me and drink my blood.” He argues that the passage conveys a spiritual truth rather than a literal physical one, pointing to the future Eucharist. Ryan emphasizes three main points: (1) Scripture can convey both spiritual and physical truths, and this passage is spiritual; (2) Jesus’ difficult teachings are unwavering, and God does not retreat from hard truths; (3) Believers need not fully understand every teaching to follow Christ, but must remain in Him and rely on the Holy Spirit for insight. He highlights the reaction of many disciples who left after the teaching, contrasting it with Peter’s confession of faith, which he presents as a model for steadfast belief despite confusion. The video concludes with a call to action, a prayer for the Holy Spirit’s guidance, and an invitation to like, subscribe, and watch future videos.

Hey, Greg Ryan here with Jesus Mighty Men and Christian podcaster No Doubt, No Fear, Only Believe. I was reading my Bible today and I come across a scripture that made me go, did Jesus really just say that? I want to read this scripture. If you've never read this scripture before, if you've never sat and pondered it, you may go, wow, I didn't know that was in there. And when you get done watching this video, you will know 3 things, 3 truths about this teaching. The first is Jesus teaches on spiritual truths and physical truths, and they're not always the same thing. So every scripture that you read sometimes is about a physical truth, and sometimes it's a spiritual truth. And in this instance, this was a spiritual truth. The second thing is, is sometimes it's difficult. God never backs down from his word. Even on the difficult things. In fact, God doubled, tripled, and even— you can gonna see he 5 times down on this truth. And the third thing that you're gonna find out is you don't have to understand everything to keep following Jesus. His disciples are told to stay in the vine. Without being in the vine, you can't do anything as a branch on your own. So you need to abide in his word even if you don't understand it. You need to stay in it until the Holy Spirit, who's here with us, never going to leave us nor forsake us, he's going to help us figure out how to understand the words of God. Well, let's get into this scripture, and you're going to find it in John 6:22-71. I want to concentrate on the part where Jesus told his disciples, eat me. And if you've never read it, I I want to encourage you to go into the scripture and read it, but that's, I mean, just plain and simple, that's what Jesus said to his disciples. Hey, eat me and drink my blood. And let's go into the next, let's go in this scripture in John 6:51. I am the bread of life which came down from heaven. If anyone eats this bread, he will live forevermore. And the bread that I shall give is my flesh, which I give for the life of the world. 53:53 The Jews therefore quarreled among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? 53:54 Then Jesus said to them, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you will have no life in you. 53:55 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up the last day. 53:56 For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on me will live because of me. This is the bread which came down from heaven, not as your fathers ate the manna and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever. I just want to tell you, that is some strong Truth right there. And if you don't understand what Jesus is trying to say, it's because he is speaking to your spirit man, and he's talking about the communion that's going to come, or the Eucharist that is going to come later. And he's telling his disciples— and I just want to encourage you, you don't have to understand everything when you read the Bible, but you do need to pray and you need to ask the Holy Spirit, hey, how do I, how do I figure this out? Because Jesus goes on And in this scripture, if you read down a little more, many of his disciples walked away and followed him no more. And that is found in John 6:66. From that time, many of his disciples went back and walked with him no more. Then Jesus said to the 12, do you also want to go away? And I got to have you listen, and we're going to finish up on this part where Peter— I love the Apostle Peter. If you follow me, you know that he's my favorite apostle. Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also, we have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God. I just— if that is your declaration, I have got to let you know that if you'll just follow what Peter said— and I want you to know that Peter— Christ hadn't gone and died on the cross yet, and I don't know that Peter was saved yet. And we get into that in different teachings. But Peter declared, look, we ain't going anywhere. And I think that is a key to following after our Lord and Savior, is even if you don't understand it, if it's in the word, it is the truth, and we just follow it. Well, that's enough. I want to thank you. If you enjoyed this, hit the like button, hit the subscribe and the little bell. You know what to do. But I just want to thank you for being a part of this. And let's pray real quick. God, I thank you so much for the person watching this video, and I pray in Jesus' name, even if it's tough, even if the truths are tough, that Lord, you will help them to understand. Holy Spirit, you never will never leave us nor forsake us, and I pray in Jesus' name that you would just lead us into all truth. God, we thank you, we love you, we ask it all in Jesus' name. Amen. Well, thank you for being a part of this, and I look forward to visiting with you in the next video.
