Christian Faith- The Power of Your Spoken Words Part 2

In this ten‑minute devotional episode, host Greg Ryan continues his new series on the power of the spoken word, using Scripture as the ultimate proof of that power. He picks up from the previous episode and focuses on Mark 11:22‑24, where Jesus teaches that faith‑filled speech can move mountains. Ryan explains that true faith begins with believing God’s Word, citing Abraham’s example, and stresses the necessity of daily immersion in the Bible—likening Scripture to the “bread of life” that nourishes believers spiritually. He describes personal “mountains” (problems, debt, discouragement, etc.) as obstacles that must be spoken against with confidence and belief, warning that doubt nullifies the promise. Ryan also warns that the church has lost power by neglecting the Word, and urges listeners to combat spiritual opposition. The episode ends with an invitation to a membership site for deeper study and community interaction, a call to subscribe, and a promise to continue the series the next day.
Welcome to episode 41. You know how it starts.
John 1:1: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. Spending time in the word of God is the best way to spend time with God. Welcome to No Doubt, No Fear, Only Believe podcast, where we will encourage inspire, and empower you to live your best life in Christ. Here's Greg.
Welcome to episode 41. If you're here for the first time, I've started a new series on the power of your spoken word. But in order to make my point, we've got to use the word of God to show how this spoken word has power. And in the previous episode, episode 40, I talked about Proverbs 18:20 and 21 and James 3:1 and 3:3 through, I think, 10. You can go back to that, listen, I'm not gonna rehash everything that I talked about on the previous episode because I really only have 10 minutes-ish to talk. So I'm gonna pick up where I left off and we're gonna talk about Mark 11:22 through 24. Today. And like I told you on the previous episode, this is one of my favorite scriptures. And this is so— there's so meaty. I guess that you could probably teach a whole series on the first 'have faith in God.' I mean, in just Mark 11:22, 'So Jesus answered and said to them, have faith in God.' You could teach a whole series on those 8 words, however many words there are. But I want to continue. And then in 23, he says, for assuredly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, be removed and cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them and you will have them. Now I want you to notice how many times Jesus said— now he, he started it all off with saying, have faith in God. So you have to have faith in God. And by doing that— and faith, if we look at how Abram, or Abraham, had faith, he believed the word of God and it was accounted to him for righteousness. But he had faith. When God spoke, Abraham believed the word of God. So that's what we're supposed to do. To have faith, we have to believe the word of God. And again, I'm going to throw my arms up in the air and, and try to get us— make a scene, but the word of God is so powerful that we have to be in the word of God. And I would say we need to be in it daily. Jesus said in the Lord's Prayer, give us this day our daily bread, because he knew that we need to eat not only physical food but spiritual food daily. And that's why he said, give us this day our daily bread. And in John, I think it's 6:50-ish, something-ish, but he talked about him being the bread of life. And that is one of, one of the I AMs. He— I AM the bread of life. So when you start eating the Bible, you are eating the word, you are eating the bread of life. Jesus is the word. As you hear on my intro every time I start an episode, is, "The Word was with God, and the Word was God, and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us." So the Word of God is God, and Jesus is the Word. So when you're in the Bible, you are, you are spending time with Jesus. And that's why one of the, the biggest reasons I, I read so much of the Scripture is because that is what is going to make you grow stronger and mightier in the Word. And you can become a mighty weapon in the hand of God because Satan is real and he's a punk. He's been defeated, but he has not been banished. So we have to continue to fight against his advances. Says the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church, and you and I are the church. So the gates of hell have no way of prevailing against us. But the problem, the reason that I believe that evil or fear and doubt and unbelief are gaining ground in the world today is because the church has lost— it's lost some of its power, a lot of its power. It's not using the word of God like God wanted us to use it. And I— that is why I'm here. One of, like, reason number 27 why I'm sitting in front of this microphone in this empty room, give— bringing you the word of God. So let's get back to Mark. And where it says that, "Assuredly I say to you, whoever says to the mountain," and the mountain is anything that's standing in your way. The mountain can be a problem, the mountain can be a situation, the mountain can be debt, the mountain can be discouragement, the mountain can be anything that is facing, that you're facing today. That is what you need to learn to speak to your mountain, whatever that mountain is. It's gonna be different to every person listening to this podcast. It's different from me to you. I'm speaking to my mountain and I'm commanding it to be removed and cast into the sea. So I'm telling my problem or my mountain to be gone and I'm commanding it to happen. Then I've gotta believe it. I cannot doubt. It keeps going. And does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done. He will have whatever he says. Jesus says, says multiple times in this one verse. And I want you to, to go read, and I want you to read it over and over and over. And I want you to hear what Jesus is saying to you, is he is saying, whatever, whenever you say to this mountain— and I want to go back because we're going to read probably in the next episode, because I don't— again, I'm trying to keep these within 10 minutes so that you can just kind of a bite-sized, so you get kind of one thought. And so what I, the thought that I want you to hold on to is that you have to speak to your mountain. And we're going to see in the next episode, we're going to see tomorrow that whatever that mountain is, that mountain is speaking to you. So you're having communications with this thing that, you know, and you may be going, no, you don't know what my mountain is. My mountain doesn't speak. I promise you, your mountain is speaking to you. And we're going to pick that up tomorrow's episode. In fact, I'm going to shut this episode off right here because I have this uncontrollable desire to teach the next episode. So I've got to shut it down. I want to thank you for being a part of this. And since I have a little bit of extra time, I want to encourage you to go to the website. I'm creating tools and I'm creating a membership site so that we can gather together. It's hard for me to talk to you back and forth in this podcast, but I, I'm creating a, a safe space, if you will, to where off of social media, to where we can have a conversation where I can open up the word and go a little bit deeper, and then we can kind of talk back and forth where iron sharpens iron. I, I just love being around Christians, and I love trying to get— sharpen this edge so that this sword of the spirit can just slash through what Satan is trying to do in yours and my life. Well, again, that's enough for today. I want to thank you for being a part of this episode. I want to thank you for being a part of my life. And if you hadn't hit the subscribe button, go ahead and do it. Thank you again, and I'll talk to you tomorrow.
