Christian Podcast 10 Bible Verses to call out evil in your world.

Greg Ryan unpacks ten Bible verses he says expose evil in the last days, starting with 2 Timothy 3's moral decay and John 10:10's thief versus abundant life. He calls lukewarm Christianity "Jesus vomit" and urges listeners to repent and adopt a biblical worldview.
Welcome to episode 278.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. Spending time in the Word of God is the best way to spend time with God. Welcome to No Doubt, No Fear, Only Believe podcast, where we will encourage, inspire, and empower you to live your best life in Christ. Here's Greg.
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Well, I am continuing on and gonna conclude with talking about evil because I don't want to give evil too much time. I hate Satan. He's a punk. You know how I feel if you follow this podcast for any length of time. What I want to do is call him out because there's too many people in the church— everyone, I think, in the world thinks we're full of garbage. Everybody— no one believes because Satan does a wonderful job of concealing himself. Because he's very cunning. In fact, in Genesis 3, the Bible describes Satan as the most cunning of all the beasts. So he's very good at what he does. So let's not take that for granted at all. But we also need to understand that he is defeated. Jesus kicked the snot out of him. He destroyed Satan's power. He took it back. We need to learn how to deal with it. We need to call evil out Unless you've been crawled up under a rock in these last 2, 3 weeks, evil is just running rampant. And it says that it's not going to get any better. We're going to touch on that in 2 Timothy 3, but we're going to get to those real quick. But I just want to give you a shout out because right now I'm doing this, and this— I'm going to try to make this really quick so that we can get in and get out. But I want to let you know that the Bible is always appropriate. And right now, as I'm filming this or recording this, if you're listening to the podcast on audio only, it is Memorial Day. And I just want to say thank you publicly to the loved ones that were left behind from someone's sacrifice. And I know it's just words, but it is an incredible honor to be in America to where people, warriors, give up their lives. And I don't know how to— I don't think you celebrate Memorial Day. I just think you remember, and I just— that's what I want to do. I just want to remember those fallen and thank them. And by— if you're one of the family members of someone that has given their life for this country, I just want to say thank you. It is incredible. And I want to give you a scripture that is so appropriate. And for anyone that says the Bible is not for today is full of crap. I mean, just bottom line, the Bible is appropriate for every area of your life. And now that's the thing we're going to get into. There's so many Christians that are doing some kind of wishy-washy, lukewarm— I call it Jesus vomit. Jesus is going to vomit you out of his mouth. You don't want to be lukewarm. Now you can be hot or cold. Jesus said, I wish that they'd be hot or cold. But this lukewarmness, this middle of the road, this mixing metaphors, if you will, the mixing of the world system and the biblical system, just don't get it. We have got to learn the biblical worldview. We— that's why we're here. That's what I'm doing. But just to show you that it's appropriate, I want to go to John 15:13. Greater love has no man than this, that that a man lay down his life for his friends. And that is on Memorial Day. I can't think of a better scripture and a more appropriate scripture than that. Greater love has no man than this. And I just want to say thank you for doing that. When I see you in eternity, I'm going to thank you personally, if God will allow me. I just think it's an incredible thing that this loved one did for our country, and we take it for granted. And I know everyone goes barbecuing or goes to the lake or the beach, or whatever, and I'm fine with all of that. I'm not against having a day off, but I just want us to remember why we're having the day off. Well, that's enough of that. I want to go to evil, and I want to call Satan out. He's a punk. We've talked about him multiple times, probably too many times, but if we don't know our enemy, then we're going to just fall into the deception that he's— every trap he sets. Remember in John 10:10, The thief does not come except to steal and to kill and to destroy. Why would we want that in our lives? We don't want that in our lives. The only way to get him out though is with the word of God. And it— we've got to change our mind. That's called repentance. Remember, that's a fancy pants Christian term, but all it means is change your mind. We just need to change our mind about this stuff. We need to quit putting the world in and start putting the Bible in. And this is a soapbox moment if you hadn't figured it out. We need to get into the Bible. And I just want to get into the Bible. We're going to read 10, I think 10 scriptures. I didn't count them, so we're going to call it 10. And that's what the title is going to be. It's going to be 10 scriptures to call out the evil in this world. And it is just running rampant. And I want to go, the first 5 scriptures are in 2 Timothy 1 through 5. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come, for men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. And that's a lot. I know that I have superior reading skills. This is in the American King James Version, and the reason that I'm reading of that is because it's easier to copy and paste. I have it on my computer, and so I'm gonna run through that. I'd read normally in my quiet time, I read the New King James, but I'm trying to cut down on all of the time that it takes me to put this up. So again, That's— we're just going to have to deal with, and I think it's a great translation, so we're going to just go with it. Paul is telling Timothy that in the last days, all of these— it's going to get worse. And I just want you to know that we got to call evil out. That don't mean we got to embrace it. We need to figure out is how to fight evil, and that's going to be in the next episode. We're going to start getting on to how we get this out, but I just want to call evil out If you're wondering why, how can anything like this school shooting or this grocery shooting, how can anything stop that? And we just get, it just fries my head when the politicians come out and there's people that are hurting and they've lost loved ones. They want to start making some kind of political statement. This is not the time. What we need to do is pray. We need to hold each other up. We need to love one another. And I'm getting sidetracked. I'm going to do that in the next episode, but it is maddening. In the next few verses, I want to talk about the picking a side, the flesh or the spirit. We've talked about this before, and in John 10:10, Jesus in his own words says, the thief comes only and is stealing and killing and destroying, but he comes that they may have life and have it more abundantly. There is an obvious glaring choice. That you and I need to make. And we also need to know that our flesh, this body that we're in right now, is never ever going to be redeemed. It's just not. So we need to just put— make sure that we get it under check. And that's what we're here to do. We got to feed the spirit man, and when you feed our mind, will, and emotion with spiritual food, and so that spirit man gets stronger than our flesh. And unfortunately, most people are just feeding the flesh, and that's all they're doing. And that's why I'm here. But I want you to hear in Galatians— this is Paul again, and we're going to start in Galatians 5:17. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary to one another: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: adultery, fornication, uncleanliness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, jealousies, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, contentions, murders, drunkenness, reviling, and such like: 20 Of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. And I've talked on multiple episodes, it's not so much that do these things because we all sin, and we are going to talk about that. We're going to continue to talk about this. For God so loved the world that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. See, we all sin. I believe that those that practice lawlessness, and this, this list that I just gave you, those are the people that wake up in the morning and can't wait to do one of these things on this list. And this not— this list I don't think is inclusive of everything. There's probably some things that some of these people out there and today now are, they're combining 3 or 4 of these. I just want to call evil out. We're going to find out in that next episode how we can punch evil right in the face and what we use, because we are not bound by just physical weapons. And I think the church has done a horrible job, and I'm using myself included, of defeating evil, because a lot of people in the church, they don't think that they have any kind of power. And I believe it comes down to how they see themselves, and we're going to get into that too. So I don't want to get too far ahead of myself. This is Memorial Day, like I said, and I want to make this quick. But I just want to thank you for being a part of this. Satan is a punk. This is the works of the flesh. We're never going to get our flesh under control. We've just got to make it submit to the word of God and to our mind, will, and emotion. And we're going to figure out how to do that in the next episode. But I just want to pray real quick. I want to thank you. For coming and being a part of this episode and a part of my life. God, I thank you so much for this listener or this viewer on YouTube. I just want to thank you for everything that you've done for us. And God, I want to thank you specifically for those soldiers, those loved ones that have given all to this great country and to their countries. And Lord, I thank you for all that you did. And for Jesus, the mightiest warrior of all, who gave his life for everyone on earth. For you, God, love so the world so much that you gave your only Son. And God, we thank you, we love you, we ask it all in Jesus' name. Amen. Well, thank you for being a part of this, and I look forward to visiting with you in the next episode.
