Discover the Jesus pattern and how to apply it to your life conclusion

Greg Ryan concludes his two-week Jesus Pattern series with seven scripture-based steps, from being about the Father's business to receiving the former and latter rain. He's creating a PDF guide with biblical references for each step and encourages listeners to search Scripture themselves, citing Proverbs 25:2 on the value of hidden truth.

Welcome to episode 141. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Well, we've made it 2 full weeks through the Jesus Pattern, and I am going to make this the conclusion. We're going to get a step-by-step. I'm going to have multiple scriptures and that PDF, those PDF skills that I was talking about. I am working on that, but what I am finding is that 10 to 15 minutes of me talking is an awful lot of words to go over and to look at on a Word document. Wow, what a big deal. And if you've been here before, you know English is not my first language. So for me to go through and grammarly— see, I don't even know if that's a word— but to go and look at the grammar and the spelling and the phrase, it is a lot. So what I'm thinking I'm going to do is I'm going to use the conclusions in each chapter or each lesson, and I'm going to put that together in a little PDF. That's going to be a whole lot easier, I believe, and it's going to have all the scriptures, and it's going to have all of the things that we talked about in the previous episodes. So I'm learning, and, and if you can't tell that I'm learning as I go, hey, I'm learning as I go. But if you've been here before and you're a fanatic, you know that one of our scriptures that we love is Proverbs 25:2. It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter. And so that is what we're doing here every day, is we're searching out this matter. And I guess I'm the one picking it. I would argue that God is kind of steering this ship. He says that he will get— he will be a lamp unto our feet and a light to our path. So I'm using that as I read the Bible, and as I feel like that, hey, I I think I need to teach on this. I'm giving God the credit, and then I go and get after it. I'm going to try to be his hands and feet and mouthpiece for the most part. Now, I'm not saying thus saith the Lord. I'm just saying, hey, this is what I see in the Bible, and I believe God has given me a gift of teaching. So I'm going to use that gift, and I'm going to talk to you daily. And let's start with this conclusion. Now, I've written this down on my notebook, and I'm going to go from my notes today. Normally I have outlines and then talk off of that. There are 7 steps that I talked about in this Jesus pattern. It took me 11 days to get there. So real quick, I'm going to talk about the 7 steps, and then I'm going to go to each step and give you the scripture reference. So that'll be kind of tidied up, and then we'll move on to the next episode, which will be a whole new teaching and a whole new topic. And I'm fired up about that too, and I'll talk about that Monday. The first step is, uh, being about the Father's business. Step 2 is we're to do God's business with the help and power of the Holy Spirit. Step 3, doing the work of God or working the works of God. Step 4, we are not to do any of this alone. Step 5, preach, teach, and heal. Step 6, we are to pray and we're to gather together in one accord. And Step 7, there is a former and latter rain. And the pattern will go from Jerusalem to Judea to Samaria to the othermost parts of the world. Well, there you have it, 7 easy steps. And now I want to break down each one of those steps. And I'm not going to elaborate because you can go back and listen to the episodes to get each one. I want to give the scripture reference for each one and read the scripture reference since this is a Bible study. I want to give you a scripture reference. Step 1 is found in Luke 2:49: And he said to them, Why do you seek me? Did you not know that I must be about my Father's business? Step 2 is do God's business with the help and power of the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:4, 5, 8: And being assembled together with them, he commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which he said, 'You have heard from me. For truly John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.'" Step 3 is doing the work of God or working the works of God.— John 6:28-29. Then they said to him, What shall we do, that we may work the works of God? Jesus answered and said to them, This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he sent. Step 4: You do not do any of this alone. Mark 6:7. And he called the twelve to himself, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits. And just in case you don't see yourself as maybe the top 12 of people who Jesus would have called, let's go to Luke 10:1. After these things, the Lord appointed 70 others also and sent them two by two before his face into every city and place where he himself was about to go. So the 12 disciples and 70 more. Surely, you can see yourself in the top 82 believers you may know. Step number 5: Preach, teach, and heal. Matthew 4:23: And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Matthew 9:35: Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. Step 6: Prayer and gathering together in one accord. Acts 2:1. When the day of Pentecost had finally come, they were all with one accord in one place. Acts 2:46-47. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, They ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. And number 7, the former and latter rain. Joel 2:23. Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God. He had given you the former rain faithfully, and he will cause the rain to come down for you. The former rain and the latter rain in the first month. And to finish it all up, Acts 1:8 again: But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth. There you have it, the 7 steps of the Jesus pattern. And we went through different scriptures, we went through different books in the Bible, Remember that God is the author and there are multiple writers. So the Holy Spirit wrote this book. Why I jumped around and from place to place, again, I go back to Proverbs 25:2. It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but it's the glory of kings to search out a matter. We are to search, we are to dig, we are to meditate, and I don't want you to take my word for it. I want you to dig in. I want you to see the Jesus pattern. And if you see a different pattern, God bless you, because all I want you to do is get in this word and try to find, there are patterns to life, there's pattern to God's word, there's ways, his ways are not our ways. And so when we're digging into the word of God, I am just putting this out there. And really, again, I'm here to tell you, I make a horrible Holy Spirit. What I'm doing is I'm getting the word out there I'm getting you in front of it or listening to the word of God. Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word of God. And then we're asking the Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, lead me, guide me, direct me into what you want me to know and what you want me to learn and how you want me to apply this to my life. But we all come at this from a different angle. We all come at this from different areas of life. We're all different parts of the same body. When I talk to you things are going to affect you, or you're going to hear things different than maybe somebody else is going to hear it. And that's all fine. I just want to encourage you, get in the Word of God. The Word of God is power, it is truth, it is life, it is bread, it is seed, it is a sword, it is Jesus. And so there's so much to the Word of God, and I just want to encourage you one more time, jumping up and down, get in the Word of God. Let's pray. God, I wanna thank you for the person listening to this episode. I wanna thank you for the Jesus Pattern. God, I wanna pray that if there's anything that I messed up or anything that I left out or anything that I added that really shouldn't have been in there, Holy Spirit, I want you, I'm asking you in Jesus' name to correct me and to correct the teaching. God, we just wanna put your word out there. We wanna encourage, inspire, and empower as many people as we can. To get into your word. And Lord, that is my motivation. I know that your word has changed me, and I know that if the person listening to this podcast or this episode will apply these same truths and will get into your word and will visit with you daily, you will change their life. You are not a respecter of persons. And God, I thank you so much. Holy Spirit, thank you for never leaving us nor forsaking us. Father God, thank you for sending your son Jesus. Thank you for coming. Lord, we thank you. We love you. We ask it all in Jesus' name. Amen. Well, thank you for being a part of this, and I look forward to visiting with you on the next episode.
