Faith and Hope The Seven Basic Truths found in the Bible many in the Church don't believe

Greg Ryan lists seven biblical truths he says most modern Christians reject: six-day creation, marriage as one man and one woman, Satan's reality, humanity's fallen nature, Jesus as the only path to salvation, and final judgment. He argues authentic faith requires living these beliefs, not just claiming them.

Welcome to episode 118.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. Spending time in the Word of God is the best way to spend time with God. Welcome to No Doubt, No Fear, Only Believe podcast, where we will encourage, inspire, and empower you to live your best life in Christ. Here's Greg.
Welcome to episode 118. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I am embarrassed to tell you, but I had to look at that 2 or 3 times to be able to read it to you. And actually, I didn't read it. I was going from memory, but I had to edit and redo. And something that simple and important, a truth should already have been planted into my spirit and soul And I— it's almost embarrassing to tell you, but again, this whole podcast is to show you that I don't have it all figured out. This is me taking imperfect action as I follow after a perfect example. You don't have to have it all figured out to do this Christian walk. You just got to get walking. And that's what I'm here to do, to encourage you, to inspire and empower you. And the way to do that is we get into the word of God and And one of the things that I want to cover on this episode, I'm gonna continue to talk about faith, but I wanna talk about the 7 truths that most of the church, now I'm not talking about the world, I'm talking about Christian, and I'm putting air quotes up, believers. Most of the church, and that's a majority, over 50%, don't believe all 7 of these truths. And I'm gonna read 'em because I just don't, I wanna make sure that we don't get this mixed up. And if you're a frequent listener to this podcast, you're gonna know that I have in my possession superior reading skills. So I'm gonna put those on you right now, and I'm gonna tell you about the 7 basic truths in the Bible that many in the modern church do not claim to believe. And I, I find it hard to believe, but here is truth number 1: God created the universe and everything in it in 6 days, and on the 7th day, He rested. Now, a lot of these I'm not going to make any kind of comment. I'm just going to go to the next one, and that's what's going to happen on this one. Number 2: God created man in his image in two genders, male and female. Now, I know I'm getting a little controversial in this day and age, but that is in the Bible. Number 3: God created marriage as a sacred covenant relationship between one man and one woman. Again, I'm, I'm on shaky grounds here in the world, but biblically, this is a biblical truth. Number 4: Satan is real and hates God and his word and leads a demonic horde that only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. And I've talked about this on multiple episodes. Satan is a real being. He was created by God. And he is alive and well. He has not been banished yet, but he and his demon horde is alive and— are alive and well, and they are wreaking havoc in this world today. Number 5, mankind rebelled against God and died spiritually, becoming morally corrupted and fallen. Every person is born spiritually dead with a fallen nature. Now, we've talked about this before as well, and I'm not going to go into— these are just things I want you to listen to as you're driving or working out. And see if you agree with all 7. The 6th: God loves mankind and never desired anything but good for us, and even after we rebelled, he created a plan of redemption to pay for our sins and to bring us back into a relationship with him. God became a man and he lived a life we should have lived and died the death we should have died to pay for our sins. Jesus is the only means of eternal redemption. Through faith in him, we are born again and restored into a personal relationship with God. I've said this multiple times. There's the only way to get to heaven is the way, the truth, and the life. This is Jesus. God loves us. He's not mad at us. Sin is no longer the issue. We could go on and on and on, but this is number 6. There's a lot of people that are, quote, claim to be Christians that don't believe this, and that's why I'm here. And the last one is every person— this is number 7— every person who has ever lived will stand in eternal judgment before God. One day. There is a real heaven and a real hell, and every person has one of two eternal destinations based on their faith in Jesus. And again, I firmly believe this, and I've said on maybe multiple podcasts that I believe we're going to get one question from Father God.
He—
when God asks you a question, he already knows the answer, but he is going to ask you, what did you do with my son? And based on your answer how you answer.
I—
you, you— if you said, I made him Lord of my life, God's going to say, stand over here. And if you said, yeah, I really— I wasn't sure about it, didn't really think that— I mean, I, I went a different path, he gonna say, that's fine, stand over here. But I think you're going to be— want to be one of the sheep standing on his right side. That's just the way I read the book. Well, that's enough of that. I wanted to put that out there. It is something that I've been thinking about, something that it's just fascinating to me. It's hard for me to believe that the church, if you read the Bible— but the problem I think with, quote, Christians is they may think they have a relationship with God. But when you read in Matthew 7 where Jesus told people in the church— I believe in the church— or thought they were going to be in heaven, depart from me, you worker of iniquity, or lawlessness, I knew you not. It's not going to matter what we think. It's going to matter what Jesus says. And if Jesus says he didn't know you, God is not a liar. He didn't know you. And you— it's, it's so one thing to know who Jesus is. It's another thing completely and totally different to have Jesus know who you are. And I'm not talking about, he knows your name because I say all the time that you are God's favorite, and that is true. God's not gonna send any person to hell. There is not one person that God is gonna throw in hell for not accepting his Son. What's gonna happen is, you are, if you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are going to send yourself to hell. And I know that may sound a little harsh and maybe a little brutal, but I didn't write the book. I'm telling you, I'm not the Holy Spirit— make a terrible Holy Spirit, as a matter of fact— but I did not write one letter in the Bible. What I do is I read the Bible and I try to help you, encourage you to pick it up and read it for yourself. But if you'll do that, if you ask the Holy Spirit Hey, lead me, guide me, and direct me into this. He— you're going to find the same thing that I found, is that if you don't bow your knee to God on this side of the ground, it's going to be a tough deal when you get on the other side. And we're going to talk about that later. There's two deaths. Revelation, it talks about, you know, the second death doesn't touch them. Anyway, there's a first death and a second death, and we're gonna— I'm not gonna start teaching that or going chasing that rabbit. But we are going to talk about it one day, not today. But I want to remind us, we're still talking about faith and faith in the word of God. If you do not believe the word of God— and that's where we're going to go next episode, is we're going to start talking about Abram and Abraham, because he is the father— he's called the father of faith. And Father Abraham, all nations will be blessed because of him. It's a wonderful truth in the Bible But we need to find out what he did. And I think when you start— and maybe some of you already know and have read it and, and you think you know already, and you probably do— but he did something amazing. Couple of things, multiple things. Father Abraham, that he was given the title of the father of faith for a reason. And we're talking, since we're talking about faith, hope, love, and grace and all of that stuff in this lesson, We need to figure out what faith is. And remember, we got the bridge. I know we got the picture of it already, but now we got to see what, you know, the action part. And I've said that faith is a noun and a verb. Well, we're going to start looking at some of the things that went on back in the day in the Old Testament and some of the things that went on in the New Testament. Both instances and all of these examples will be in the past, some over 2,000, all of them over 2,000 years ago. But I wanna remind you that the shield of faith, remember Paul, and we talked about in the armor of God, that if in above all things, and I think that's in Ephesians, I know it's in Ephesians 6, I couldn't remember if it was 16 or 17, but it's Ephesians 6:16, above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all of the fiery darts of the wicked one. So the shield of faith, and remember I've said multiple times in Hebrews 11:6, And I'm going to go to that real quick. I'm going to read that because I don't think it's going to hurt us to hear scripture. In Hebrews 11:6, but without faith it is impossible to please him, for he who comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Again, we're gonna, we're gonna use faith all of this. And if you want to read Hebrews 11, it's called the faith chapter. Or the Hall of Faith, Hebrews 11, and then Hebrews 12. All of that is talking about faith, and we're going to get into that, but not in this episode. I just wanted to kind of open up the door. I wanted to talk about these 7 basic truths that are found in the Bible. It just fascinated me, and maybe that's what— why the world's so screwed up, because the church is supposed to be the light of the world. We're supposed to reflect the light of Jesus. We're supposed to be the salt, and if we have lost our flavor, if we've lost our ability to season this world and to protect the world, then maybe that's why the world's going to hell in a handcart. Maybe that's why everything's all messed up, is because the church is just, yeah, we, you know, we don't want to make any waves, and we don't want— look, it's, it's way past time to not make waves, but you don't do it by rattling your fist at the world, or rattling your fist at your neighbor, or telling them, pointing their finger at him, your old crooked finger or whatever, and telling them they're going to hell if they don't straighten up. You do it with love, and you do it by your actions. And you— people look at you and they'll go, 'And what's— why is it different? Why are you different?' Now, when you hear that, when people say, 'Why are you always in a good mood?' or Why is it this, or why is it that? You need to have an answer. You need to be ready with an answer. But people are watching, and whether you want to have them watch you or not, they are looking at you. And if you've claimed to be a Christian, and if you've decided to follow Jesus, and you're doing your best to imitate him, people are watching you, and you're going to have to have an answer when they ask you. Well, I want to stop it right there, and let's pray. God, I thank you so much for sending your Son. I thank you for your Word. I thank you for this person listening. Lord, if they've listened to multiple episodes, you know and I know that they're probably a fanatic. And Lord, I thank you for that, and I thank you for them. But I really thank you, Holy Spirit, for never leaving us nor forsaking us, and that you're always there, you're always listening. And Father God, we thank you for the plan that you had that It's just mind-boggling how simple but how powerful it is. Jesus, thank you for coming and living that life and dying that death and being risen on the third day. We thank you. We love you. We ask it all in Jesus' name. Amen. Well, thanks for being a part of this, and I look forward to visiting with you on the next episode.
