Faith- What is the Law of Faith and What Concepts of Your Faith Need to Change?

In episode 327 of the No Doubt, No Fear, Only Believe podcast, the host (Speaker A) presents faith not as a vague concept but as a concrete, unchanging "law" akin to physical laws like gravity. He grounds this claim in Scripture, especially Romans 3:27‑28 and Romans 4:3‑5, arguing that justification comes through the law of faith rather than works. Using the gravity analogy, he illustrates that faith operates regardless of belief, and that believers must act on it—speaking God’s Word, walking on the “bridge” of faith that connects the physical to the spiritual realm. He urges listeners to repent of a lukewarm, half‑hearted stance, to pick a side—faith versus the world’s opposition—and to live by faith not by sight (2 Cor 5:7). The episode closes with a prayer for understanding and a promise of deeper teaching in future episodes.

Welcome to episode 327. In this episode, I'm going to talk about faith, the law of faith, and the concept of your faith, and does it possibly need to change. Well, that's an awful lot to get into, but before we get started, grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Well, we're going to jump right into scripture because I want you to understand that there is a law, and the difference between a law and a concept is two different sides of a spectrum, because a law, I think, is based in concrete, repeatable, never-changing pattern. And a concept is something that you might can tweak and move around and all of that. I think a lot of us as Christians are walking around with concepts on faith and not necessarily the law of faith. And that's why I'm here. I know faith is a huge topic, and we probably need to do a little better job than these little 10-minute segments. This is what we've got. This is what we have to work with. I want to tell you that faith is a law, and I'm not making it up. And again, I want to remind you, I didn't write one word in the Bible, so we're not talking about anything that I've written, but it's what I have read and how I study it. And I'm going to read what Paul says in Romans about faith, and then we're going to talk about the faith and the law. Let's go to Romans 3:27 and 28. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law. And then we're going to jump down to Romans 4:3-5. So what does the scripture say? Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but debt. But to him who does not work but believes on him who justifies the ungodly, Godly, his faith is accounted for righteousness. And I know that's a lot. I know I have superior reading skills. We've already had that discussion. I want you to go back to Romans 3:27 where Paul's saying, where is boasting? Is this something that you or I can do? No. Faith is a law, and it's based on believing the word of God. And we're going to see in the next episode what Abraham did to believe the word of God, and then we're going to start setting out different steps or different parts of this law of faith. But I want to introduce you to this law of faith because most people, I don't think, believe that it is truly a law. And when you start talking about law, you've got the law of gravity, you've got the law of aerodynamics, you've got laws of electricity. I mean, there are laws, they're not changing. These things are going on, they were here from the beginning. And they're going to be here until God determines that this world is over. But law of gravity— I want you to think about the law of gravity. Do you have to believe in the law of gravity for gravity to be working here on Earth? The answer is absolutely not. In a simplified version of gravity, what comes up must come down. Everything that has any kind of mass or matter is going to come to the Earth. It's going to be held by gravity to the Earth. And I'm not here to tell you any kind of scientific discovery or anything like that, but I just want you to think about the law of faith in the same realm as the law of gravity, that these are never-changing laws. These are things that you must do if you want to operate in faith. You must do things if you want to operate in the laws of gravity. You can't step off of a 15-story building because you do not believe and the law of gravity, because the law of gravity does not care. You're going to discover if you step out of that building and start falling that it doesn't matter what you believe, and God is not going to turn off the law of gravity because you are crazy or that you are stupid or that you just wanted to prove him wrong. These laws are there to protect you and I. There— we're to work around these laws, and it's the same with the law of faith. Gravity doesn't size you up to see if you are better than anybody else or that you are worse than anybody else. Gravity is here for you. It's here for me. It's here for anyone that will use it. And so we build things around the idea that gravity is going to be here, and we're going to build around this idea that faith has laws. Again, I want to talk about these concepts because we start seeing how the squishy center and the right and the left in the middle. And remember, Jesus said, I wish you were hot or cold. Jesus needs us on one side or the other. We're to pick a side. I picked Jesus' side. I picked the faith side. I've picked the spiritual side. So I've picked a side. Now, some of these people that hate God and hate Jesus, the atheists that are just angry and hateful and against God, They've picked their side. They're over on the other side. So we have these two sides and then all that squishy middle. That's who Jesus calls lukewarm. You can't be halfway in this faith walk. You've got to be all the way in. Just like you can't sometimes think gravity is going to work and sometimes you think it's not going to work. It— gravity is always going to work while we're here on earth. But I'm not trying to talk about gravity. I want to talk about faith. And faith is a substance. Faith is actually something— we've talked about that in the previous episode. I picture it as a bridge, and it's taking us from this physical realm into the spirit realm. And it's something that we walk on, and we walk on the promises of God. There has to be something that has some kind of substance. The most powerful thing that you hold in your hand is the Word of God. If you start speaking that Word of God out of your mouth, we're going to see how the laws of faith work, but that's one of the things you have to do to engage in faith is you have to speak it. But I'm getting ahead of myself, and I'm not going to teach on that in this episode. This is just an introduction and more of a kind of repentance. And you know that that word is just kind of a fancy-pants Christian word for changing your mind. And I just want you to change your mind from faith being a concept to faith being a law. And that's the only reason I'm here today, is just to tell you that there is some concrete no joke things that we've got to get right to get faith to work. And I want to give you some encouragement. We're going to look into the scripture, we're going to look at some things that it does not matter. God is not sizing you up to see if you're good enough or if you're too bad, or if anything. If you walk in these laws of faith, it's gonna happen for you. That is exciting, that's encouraging, And that's why it's important that we dig in and we understand what this is all about, because the just, the justified, shall live by faith. That's what the Bible says. And it says that it's impossible to please him without faith. So God wants us— in fact, he almost is demanding that you and I walk in faith. But the world does not want anything to do with that. And we know Satan is a punk. We know that he hates God and he hates anything God's made. And he's made you and I. So Satan hates us. He comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy. Jesus come so that we could have life and have it more abundantly. That's John 10:10. So there are two different sides. We either pick abundant life or we take stealing, killing, and destroying. And there's a lot of people that have chosen, but there's a lot of people in the middle that have not taken a side. And I'm here to tell you It's time to take a side. It's time to change your mind. It's time to repent and take a side. And I'm telling you, we need to pick faith. We need to learn to walk by faith and not by sight. That's 2 Corinthians 5:7. We've been talking about that for a long time, but we need to take steps of faith. But we need to also understand that these are laws and that these laws are going to hold fast whether you believe it or not. That is just like gravity. You don't have to believe gravity to throw a rock and have it hit the earth. You just got to know that it's there, and you've just got to act on it. So I just want to introduce this real quick. I want us to get excited about faith, and I want us to dig into it because this is a huge topic. Remember, 1 Corinthians 13:13 says, "Now these abide: faith, hope, and love, and the greatest of these is love." Now we know that love is the greatest, and I believe it's because God is love, and love is going to go on even after this world is gone. Love is going to continue. I'm not sure faith and hope— we're going to need that as much when we're in heaven because we're going to see the spirit realm and we're going to be able to work, I think, better in faith and hope than we are doing here because we're not walking by sight. There in heaven, we're going to be able to see it. So if we see it, I don't know if we're going to need faith for it, but I don't want you to start wrapping your mind around all that. I— you tell I'm rambling a little bit. Let's pray real quick and let's ask the Holy Spirit to get involved in this journey with us. God, we thank you so much for your word. God, we thank you that there is a law of faith. If there was not a law of faith, you would not have allowed Paul to write about it in Romans. And God, I pray in Jesus' name that you would allow us to dig into this, into your word. And Holy Spirit, we are asking you to just open up our minds. Wisdom, we're asking you to come. Understanding, we're asking for help here. Help us to understand faith and the laws that govern faith. And God, it's for your glory and for your honor that we're here and that we're digging into your word, and we are going to learn to walk by faith and not by sight. Lord, we love you. We thank you. We ask it all in Jesus' name. Amen. Well, thank you for being a part of this, and I look forward to visiting with you in the next episode.
