Finishing up 2021 with the same word relentless and adding a new word for 2022

Greg Ryan keeps his 2021 theme "relentless" and adds "fearless" for 2022, citing the Bible's 365 commands to not fear. He compares God's Word to an incorruptible seed that must be planted, watered, and protected through Scripture reading, community, and prayer.
Welcome to episode 234.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. Spending time in the Word of God is the best way to spend time with God. Welcome to No Doubt, No Fear, Only Believe podcast, where we will encourage, inspire, and empower you to live your best life in Christ. Here's Greg.
Welcome to episode 234. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Well, we have made it to the last week in 2021. I can't believe it's almost over. It is amazing how fast time flies when you're having fun. I am going to reiterate the word that I started with, and it was relentless. I started this podcast back in January of this year with the word that I was going to just be relentless. And I just want to tell you, I don't know what your definition of relentless is, but mine is to continue on the same path regardless of the results. I am going after this thing. I am going to destroy the works of the enemy in my life the best way I know to do, and that is by getting into the Word of God and taking massive action. I am taking action whenever I can Relentless to me means making something happen. I'm going to continue to do— I've got a new word I want to lay on you, and I, I want you to pray about the word that you're going to get after in 2022. 2022 is going to be a phenomenal year. We plan on having a few ups and downs. I don't know, maybe just all ups. I got no idea what 2022 is going to bring, but I'm gonna bring everything I have. I'm gonna continue to stay with the word relentless. I'm officially done sitting on the sidelines. I'm going to continue to move toward the end of this life and towards the second coming of Jesus. I'm pointing to that day. I'd have no idea when that day is. I've got some ideas of when it could be, but I am clueless. On the exact day and time and hour. I'm not even going to try to make a prediction. I do— I will talk about it more in the episodes to come, but it is not going to be on this episode. This episode is going to be about my new word for 2022. I'm going to continue to go with relentless. That's 2021's word. I'm not going to throw that in the ditch or in the trash can. I'm going to continue to be relentless. But the next word that I'm going to put on top of relentless is going to be fearless. And fearless is the word that I'm going to use. I have heard— I've never researched this, and you may have heard this too— that there are 365 times that the Bible says, "Do not fear," or, "Have no fear." I probably should research that, but I have not. I've heard multiple pastors, I've heard multiple teachers say that there's 365 times where that terminology happens. And then they use the analogy that there's 365 days in a year. So the Word of God is telling you every day to not fear, have no fear. And that's the name of this podcast, is No Doubt, No Fear, Only Believe. And fearless has got to be in there somewhere. And so I am going to start promoting this. I've never really promoted this podcast, and we have gotten 5,000 downloads, and I just want to thank you for being a part of this. If you've been a frequent flyer here and you're a fanatic, I just want to thank you for being a part of my life and being a part of this program. And I just want to encourage you— this is the soapbox moment that you've been waiting for— get in the Word of God. The Word of God will change you. It is no respecter of persons. There is no way the Word of God is sizing you up The Word of God is the incorruptible seed, and we're going to go to that. If this is your first time, you will find that scripture in 1 Peter 1:22. Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit, in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again not of corruptible seed but incorruptible through the Word of God, which lives and abides forever. Because all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away, but the word of the Lord endures forever. Again, that's 1 Peter 1:22-25, and it is telling us that the word of God is incorruptible seed. When you plant the word of God in your heart, you will have a crop. It will produce something in your life. Now, we've talked multiple episodes about digging out all the rocks in your life, digging down deep, getting that heart soil ready for the incorruptible word of God. There is a process, and it starts with humbling yourself. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. You humble yourself before God, and then you plant his word into your heart. And what happens is over a given amount of time, that seed will grow. We talked about in the previous episode, that episode was about the Virgin Mary and about how she said, "Behold the maidservant of the Lord, let it be to me according to your word." And I just want to challenge you to say those words over and over again as you're reading the Bible As the Holy Spirit is here with you or there with you, and he's here with me, where any two are gathered as touching one thing, as we touch this scripture where it says, "Let it be to me according to your word." When you read something in the Bible that you want to plant into your heart, you just say, "Let it be to me according to your word." That is something that's gonna take hold It'll take root. Now you have to water that word. You have to protect it. You don't go digging it back out. You just put some water on that, which is reading the Bible, which is listening to this wonderful podcast that you're on right now, or some teachers or pastors, just being around believers and encouragement. And then the gratitude, being thankful, all of that stuff, and prayers, all of that stuff will help grow the word of God and you just need to believe it and it'll start growing. I do not know how. We're going to go to Mark. I love that scripture because when we plant that word, it's in Mark 4, and I think it's 26. Hang on, I'm looking at my Bible right now. Mark 4:26, and he said, the kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow. He himself does not know how. For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come. And if you want to just replace the kingdom of God as if a man scattered seed on the ground, how about the word of God as if a man scattered seed on his heart, and he should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. When you plant, it's the exact same thing, except instead of planting a physical seed in the ground, you're planting a supernatural, incorruptible seed, the Word of God, in your heart. And one more scripture, because I know if you put your eyebrow up, you're like, well, how— where do you get that one scripture? You can't lay hold on one scripture. I want to take you back into Mark, and it's 4:13, where Jesus is explaining the parable of the sower. And then he says in 4:13, and he said to them, do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? The sower sows the word. That is verse 14. It is 4:14. The sower sows the word. The word of God is the seed that is being sown, and it's the incorruptible seed. It's without corruption, it's without any kind of fault, it's without any kind of error. You put this into your heart, you put it in the soil, you let it grow, and I'm telling you, it will grow into a tree. I want to go to a couple of more scriptures because I want to anchor this word fearless I'm not going to talk about a bunch of other scriptures. We've already talked about this one multiple times. It's one of our anchor scriptures, but it is in Mark 5:36. As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Do not be afraid, only believe." And that is the scripture I want to leave you with. Do not be afraid, only believe. You can't have fear and faith in the same sentence. You can't have faith and fear in the same prayer. You got to destroy your fear and believe. And that's what I'm going to do in 2022. I'm going to continue on this path. We're going to stay relentless, but we are going to stay focused, and we are going to start getting after this thing in Jesus' name. We are Excited about what's going to happen in 2022, and I'm looking forward to you being with me on this journey. Well, let's pray real quick. God, I thank you so much for everything you've done in my life. I thank you for this listener. I pray in Jesus' name that whatever they're going through this season, I pray that you would just continue to lead and guide and direct them. Your word is a lamp unto their feet and a light unto their path. Lord, let them get in your word. I pray that they would continue to seek you and seek your knowledge found in your word. God, we thank you. We love you. We ask it all in Jesus' name. Amen. Well, thank you for being a part of this, and I look forward to visiting with you in the next episode.
