Light and Easy Teaching for Prayer, Wear and Share.

A pastor argues that aggressive door-to-door evangelism contradicts Jesus's example. Instead, he advocates for a gentler approach: pray for specific people, wear faith-themed clothing as a conversation starter, and share your story when asked. True evangelism is "light and easy" when you follow the Holy Spirit's leading.

When I first got saved, and I wish someone would have told me this, and that's kind of why all of this is kind of coming to the head, and that's why I'm teaching this lesson, because I want to help you avoid a lot of the pitfalls that I went in. I mean, I used to go door to door, knocking on doors, you know, asking people, you know, if they knew God, and you know, I mean, and I don't see anywhere in the Bible where Jesus witnessed. I mean, I see Jesus walking through life, I see him healing the sick, I see him preaching, I see him teaching, I see him healing, I see all of these things that he was doing, but I don't ever see where he told people, you know, asked them specifically, are you, you know, are you doing this, are you doing that? I mean, he just walked and lived his life, and people, he would, were drawn to him by, by his actions. And in Matthew 7:6, it says, do not give what is holy to the dogs. No, nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet and turn and tear you to pieces. Now I want to, I want to combine this with, with one I've read earlier where James 4:6 says, but God gives grace, gives more grace. Therefore he says, God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. You've got to humble yourself. That's repentance. It's where you humble yourself, say, God, I messed up. I mean, you've got to take, you've got to take it on yourself. You have to repent. But God resists the proud. He fights against the proud. So when you start knocking on people's doors, and if God's not drawing this person to himself, and you knock on a door of a proud individual they could tear you to pieces. And then if you've ever witnessed to someone that's hateful, or that, you know, that God's not drawing— I mean, you've probably had— I've had it where people, you know, they turn on you and you're trying to, quote, save them. I mean, really, we're not saying— we— some plant, some water, but, you know, God is who does the increases from the Lord. And God The Holy Spirit does the saving. So why would we witness to people? Why would you witness to somebody that God's not drawing? Because it said no one can come to me unless the Father draws me. Now God wants all people to come to repentance, but not all people are gonna. So why would you— why would you continue to fight against the word of God? Why not just fall into this and then Matthew 11:28, I want to tell you a scripture. Jesus said that all of this is going to be light and easy. It's a promise from God, and I want to read this to you. It says, come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Now I want to stop right there. I'm going to read the rest of it here in a minute, but remember it said the harvest is truly plentiful, but the laborers are few. When you start laboring for God, you know, you may get, you may feel like, man, this is hard. This is, you know, this is, I need some rest. Well, Jesus is saying, hey, come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. There it is, light and easy, light and easy. That's a promise from God that if you do it God's way, it's going to be light and easy. And all— now I'm going to take all of this stuff together and I'm going to give you this handout of the scriptures that I read. But I just want to— I want you to think about that no one can come to God unless God's drawing him to— no one can come to Jesus unless the Father draws him. And he resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Why would we not pray, God, who are you drawing to yourself? God, who is— who, who's in a position? Who are you drawing? Who, who's kind of feeling kind of fed up, like, and wants to humble themselves and, and maybe want to listen? There's a lot of people that they're going on the wide road, but not all of them, not all of them are ready to listen. So one of the things that I give is a bookmark, and it's 3 people to pray. They prayed, and you can pray specifically, hey God, get on those people, start drawing, start getting those persons, you know, help them, help them to be humble, help them to, to see. You know, there's a lot of things that you can do and pray, but as you're walking through this life. And here's the easy part. Here's the light and easy part. Put on clothes. That's where, 'cause, and I'm telling you, I've said this before and you've heard it, I did not want to own a clothing company. This is not, this was not my dream is to own a club, but it's like God wouldn't let me drop it. But, you know, I look in Genesis 3:21 said, You know, for Adam and his wife Eve, he made tunics of skin and clothed them. God made the first clothes. We have to— you can't walk out of your house naked. You'll get arrested. You have to wear clothes. And why not wear something that would help people go, hey, what is that? Or, and as you pray, hey God, if anybody comes into my life, have them ask me a question. And if you walk through your life kind of like Jesus walked through his life, I mean, he never went, but he had people come up to him, Lord, pray for me, and he was loving on people. Why not just walk through your life, and then if someone sees your shirt, man, what is that? Or, and that you can say, Lord, thank you, God, that, you know, that is. But if you walk through your, you put the shirt on and you go through your day and no one says anything, Okay, you, you got to wear something, so why not wear something? Why not pray? Why not pray? Why not wear something? And when they, when they do ask, if, if you do it and you're using faith— God, show me these per— show me these people— instead of you trying to figure this out and knocking on doors and talking to everybody and casting your pearls before swine, or the dogs. I mean, they, they could trample your the word of God and then turn on you. I mean, why would, that is not light and easy. Light and easy is putting on a shirt and going and doing what you were gonna do anyway. So all of that said, I am gonna finish with my favorite scripture and you know what's coming. It's Revelation 12:11, and they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. A sacrificial lifestyle. And this is the share part. This is the— we've had the prayer, you've, you put on a shirt, and now if they ask you a question, share your testimony.
