Two hosts discuss asking boldly in faith, using basketball metaphors for daily practices like prayer and Bible reading. They reference James's teaching that faith without works is dead, and Speaker B humorously attempts to walk on water, slipping and joking about finding a better source, showing that messy faith experiments still matter.

Welcome to another Walking Wednesday. I'm a little early. I've got a lot to do today. Just got to be totally honest, I'm not feeling it. Not that I was feeling it the other two times and last Wednesday when I busted my backside. Trying not to do that this week, but I am trying to be consistent. And the scripture that's coming to mind is ask and keep asking. Ask and the door shall be— actually it says ask ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, and knock and the door will be opened unto you. I'm asking, I really honestly, I know that this is a, if we're going to use a basketball analogy, I know that this is a full court shot or a half court shot. And we don't try to do those all the time and we don't try to make them, but we at least try to, you know, do something incredible for God. I mean, that's my, what I want to do is encourage you and me to do something out of the ordinary. I think we're going to win the game, this Christian walk and the game of life, if we take layups and we take free throws and we take 3-pointers and staying in the paint and doing the things, just the consistent day-to-day things like reading your Bible, praying, worshiping God. All of those things we need to do. But we also need to get out of the pews. We don't just need to sit there. Faith without works is dead. I believe it was James that said, "You show me your faith and I'll show you my works through my faith," or something like that. I know I just screwed it up. But anyway, I have got to go. I have got a lot going on today and I'm fixing to change the camera. Maybe. Well, there we go.
And we're going to step right here. God, I thank you. For allowing me to walk on water, for giving me the example. And God, I pray in Jesus' name that I will stay on top of the water. Water, I command you to hold me up, and let's get busy walking on top of this water.
Thank you, Lord, for your word, and thank you for the faith that you've given me.
This a go. Jesus' name, amen. I about fell again, guys. Doggone, this is slippery. This is a nasty pond too, by the way. I gotta find a different water. But didn't happen again.
Let me switch this over.
Don't want to be super discouraged, but I just wanted to encourage you that it doesn't—
you don't have to do it perfect. There's no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus. I think that you and I need to start walking by faith, and sometimes it's not always going to work out.
And in my case, this walking on water thing ain't never worked out.
But I'll see you here next Wednesday.
I will probably gonna find a different waterhole, 'cause I'm thinking this water's just too stinking soft.
Anyway, thank you again for being a part of this, and I look forward to seeing you on my podcast on No Doubt, No Fear, Only Believe.
