In this YouTube Bible study, Greg Ryan (host of the No Doubt, No Fear, Only Believe podcast and member of Jesus Mighty Men) introduces a 30‑day daily study challenge and answers the question “What is salvation according to the Bible?” He structures his answer in three parts. First, he defines salvation by examining the original Greek word sozo, explaining that it means to save, heal, deliver, preserve, and give new life, emphasizing that salvation is far broader than merely avoiding hell. Second, he identifies the source of salvation as Jesus Christ, citing John 14:6 and John 3:16‑18 to assert that Jesus is the exclusive way, truth, and life through which anyone can reach the Father. Third, he outlines how a person is saved: repentance (a complete turning away), humble acknowledgment of sin, confession that Jesus is Lord, and belief in His resurrection, referencing Romans 10:9‑10. The video concludes with a call to subscribe, a preview of the ongoing study series, and a closing prayer invoking the Holy Spirit and thanking Jesus for salvation.

Hey, Greg Ryan here with Jesus Mighty Men and the host of No Doubt, No Fear, Only Believe podcast. I want to welcome you to this Bible study with me. I've had multiple people on my podcast want to know how we could have an interaction, and I can't do it on the podcast. I hadn't figured out how to do that, so I've decided to do a quick Bible study on YouTube. And I kind of got a challenge the same way I started my podcast. I was challenged Hey, why don't you go to YouTube? And so I'm going to do this 30-day challenge, a YouTube challenge on daily Bible studies with me, and we're going to ask— answer questions that people are asking out there on the YouTubes and online. And so what I'm going to do is I'm going to use the Bible like I do on my podcast. I'm going to use the Bible to answer some of these questions. So let's jump right in. What is salvation according to the Bible? Well, that is what we're going to answer on this video, and we're going to answer you with 3 things. We're going to first going out what the definition of salvation is. The second thing is who does salvation come from, and the third thing is how do you get saved. So we're going to dive right in. Let's go to the first one: what is salvation by definition? All right, I'm going to get a little bit deep on you real quick. It's going to be a Greek, and this isn't that kind of Bible study, but I believe it's important to see the original languages this was written in and it's sozo. Luke 7:50, let's read that real quick. Then he said to the woman, your faith has saved you, go in peace. And the word saved there is sozo. And I'm going to put up on the screen, I'm going to put the definition of sozo: to save, heal, cure, preserve, keep safe and sound, secure from danger or destruction, deliver. Sozo saves from physical death by healing and from spiritual death by forgiving sin and its effects. Sozo is a— in primitive cultures is translated simply to give new life and to cause to have a new heart. So there you have it. That's what me— and that's what salvation to me means. It means to be saved from everything. Healing, it means deliverance, it means salvation, it means Everything. I think sometimes we get kind of tied up in the Christian salvation that we're just not going to go to hell, but it is so much more. Jesus came so to do so many more things than just get us out of hell. The second question I want to answer is how— where does salvation come from? Now I think we got to go back to the Bible, and then this is a Bible study, so this is a Bible study with me, so I'm going to use the Bible as my reference. If you don't want to study the Bible, you probably need to bump off of this and go to a different video. But if you want to dig in, Jesus in, in John 14:6 told his disciples, I am the way, the truth, and the life. Nobody gets to the Father except through me. So Jesus just declared right there that he's the only way. There are not many roads that lead to heaven, there's one. Jesus is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. No one gets to the Father except through me. Now we're going to go back in John 3:16, 17, and 18. And John 3:16, if you remember, this was Nicodemus coming. He was a leader, but he kind of come at the dark of the night. It was a little bit— didn't want anybody to see him. And so Nicodemus asked, how is somebody supposed to be saved? And Jesus said, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. He who believes is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the only begotten Son of God. Period. That's it. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Jesus is, in his own words, said, look, no one can get to the Father except through me, and God sent me so that you could be saved. Pretty simple, pretty basic. And the third thing is, how do you get saved? Well, I think the first step is you have to repent. And repentance is just a fancy-pants Christian word for doing a 180, to turn it completely the other way. And what that means is you have to humble yourself. You cannot save yourself. You have got to declare with your mouth that you have sinned. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. You have to be saved by the word of God. You have got to get in the Bible. You've at least got to hear the word. And faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word of God. And you will be saved. And if you will humble yourself and say, God, I know I've messed up, I— there is absolutely no way that I can do this without you, and you declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, because that's the next thing you have to say with your mouth and believe in your heart that God raised Christ from the dead, you shall be saved. Let's go to Romans 10:9-10. That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Faith is voice activated. You've got to say it with your mouth, and you got to believe it in your heart. You first have to humble yourself. You have to repent, which means just say, look, I've screwed up, I've messed up. And you have to declare that Jesus is Lord. That's it. So if you do that, if you have If you bow the knee and you bow your heart to Jesus, salvation will come.
