YouTube Bible Study- From shepherd boy to God's champion Moment of Truth

Samuel anointed David as king before he faced Goliath, giving him God's Spirit in secret. Saul would have killed him if he'd known. The speaker says God's anointing works the same way in believers today, empowering ordinary people for their purpose.
Chapters
Good morning, everybody. I just wanted to finish up the week real quick with a kind of a more of a summary of what's going on with King David. You remember he was anointed king, and it said when he was anointed, Samuel anointed him, and the Spirit of God, the Spirit of the Lord came upon him from that day forward. Now, I don't know if you— you know, some of you may not have put this together, but David was anointed before he faced Goliath. So he's walking around, he's the quote king, God's king, but you know, there wasn't a press release. You know, no one, no one said, hey, you know, that's the new king now, because he ended up— he, you know, he came and left from his father's house to King Saul. Remember, he was playing the harp and all that good stuff. So, I mean, King David, if they'd have told, hey, he's the new king, he'd have probably been dead. King Saul would have killed him. So what I want to encourage you, and this whole thing is to encourage and inspire you and to empower you, that God does not, God doesn't play favorites. He's not a respecter of persons. What he did for King David He has done for you or is doing for you. So don't think for a minute just because, you know, you read a word and God— maybe somebody prayed over you or somebody gave you a word, you know, just because it hasn't come to fruition yet or hadn't manifested in your life, to give some good religious Christian-y words, but you've got the same power. You've got the same spirit on you that was on David. And David was anointed king, but he was still a shepherd boy. But I want you to see real quick when he walking from the shepherd boy into— and he, remember, he was just going up to deliver some food from his dad. He was just doing his job. And so he got there and then he just said, look, I'll fight this guy. And so he was ushered into the king's tent. And I want to, I mean, I want to give you an idea of the king of Israel. You know, the king of Israel, over all of Israel, he could, he could do or say anything he wanted to do. He could take somebody out, kill him, whatever. He didn't answer to anyone in Israel. So this guy was powerful, the most powerful person in Israel. We have a president in the United States that doesn't have the power that King Saul had in Israel. I mean, he's got, he's got the, the Congress and the judicial system, you know. I mean, I'm talking, I'm not talking about power more weapons, more army. I'm talking about his ability to do things in the government. King Saul didn't have to ask anybody, he just did it. And so you have a shepherd boy that is now walking into the king's tent to take on a warrior that has been— Goliath— that has been a warrior from his youth, is what the king said. And I just want to let that sink in over the weekend. Just, I mean, that is, that is a huge rise from being a shepherd boy to, to going to battle for the whole country of Israel. And it is exactly the anointing, or the Holy Spirit, or the Spirit of the Lord that did all of this. All of this happened because God wanted it to happen. And the same thing is true in your life. All of these things, if you will just submit yourself to God, resist the devil, the devil is going to walk away and, and actually ask God, hey, what am I supposed to be doing? I mean, we, we should do that every day. But God, why did you make me? I mean, what, what am I good at? What am I, what am I supposed to be doing for your kingdom? So I just want to encourage you, we're going to get into the battle. Everyone has heard the story of, you know, David and Goliath, but I wanted to give you a little background and maybe get you thinking about something else, and maybe how you can apply this to your life. Because really, that's what's important. It's about how you can take this, to take the Bible and apply it to how you're living. And so everything doesn't always go right. Yeah, I mean, you don't one day get anointed and the next day you're, you know, it all your life, everything just works out. It's a process, and God knows right where you are. You just keep moving your feet, you keep going, you keep digging in that Bible, you keep praying, and you keep You keep getting after it and God will open up your life. Now, now there's going to be battles. We're going to talk about that, but no one said it was going to be easy. You're just going to win. You're, you're more than conquerors. So thanks again. I hope you're enjoying this. I know I am. So, uh, I'll, I'll see you next week.
