YouTube Bible Study- The Word is God Moment of Truth

Jesus is the Word, so reading Scripture is encountering Jesus himself. The speaker uses John 1:1-14 and John 16:7 to argue the Holy Spirit is always present, unlike a physical Jesus, and can guide you continuously if you pray and read the Bible daily.

Hello everybody, I just wanted to say welcome again. This is actually day 2, and I promise I'm not going to count down every day, but it's kind of a big deal for me because it's the second day. Consistency starts with little steps. It's not You're not going to sprint and get through the race. And I just got to remind myself that, you know, day by day, inch by inch, life's a cinch. But I've got a couple questions today for you. The first one is, would you rather have Jesus here today with you face to face, or would you rather have his word? And before you answer that, I just want you to think about this. I— the Bible says in John 1:1 says that In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And in John 1:14, it says, and the flesh— and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. So when you're asking, and if you think about Jesus and you want to see— I just want to— I just— I need to talk to Jesus, or I need to hear from Jesus— I would say, I would say, get, get in the Word. This is— Jesus is here. Says, I am the Word. I am the Word. And so if you want, if you want Jesus with you, grab the Bible, you know. And, and if you think about Jesus walking with you, the disciples had 3 years with Jesus. And when, when they were walking, you know, they— I'm sure they had great times. I'm sure they laughed. I'm sure they had all kinds of really cool— and you got— they got to see some wonderful things. Amazing things. But if you read some of the responses when the disciples asked Jesus a question, and, and they're living life and they're going, you know, how they woke him up in the boat. Remember when the water and waves were going and Jesus was taking a nap? And he, and he kind of looked at him and rebuked them and said, I mean, you, you, you have little faith. Um, and, and how long am I going to suffer you is another one of his comments. So You know, with Jesus here, I mean, it's not gonna be, he's not just gonna just hug you and love on you and comfort you. I mean, he's gonna, he would teach you, and that's what the Bible does. And so I wanna encourage you to dig into this Bible. When you think you wanna have Jesus face to face, you've got him. If you open this word and start at John 1:1 and just let that kind of marinate, that Jesus is the word. Now the second question is, would it be better for Jesus to be here or the Holy Spirit? And Jesus answered this just straight out in John 16:7, where he said, nevertheless, it's to your advantage if I leave. And because if I leave, I'm going to send the Holy Spirit. Of course, I'm paraphrasing, but he said, look, it's going to be better for you if I go. So he was getting his disciples ready that, you know, he wasn't going to be here. But the Holy Spirit, when he left and he sent the Holy Spirit, he will never leave us nor forsake us. Jesus was a man in a body, and he could be in one place at one time. But the Holy Spirit is everywhere, and he is the truth. He is the Spirit of Truth. So it's— I mean, it's, it's so much better. You have Jesus' Spirit with you every day. And I just wanted to encourage you and remind you that You know, you're never alone. You are not by yourself. And so when you feel like, you know, life's just beating you up, just remember that. I mean, a lot of times I'll drive down the road and I'll have the Holy Spirit sitting in the seat with me. I mean, I'm just mentally picture that. And the longer you're around me, you'll know that I try to picture things. But I had the Holy Spirit just sitting in the seat and I just talked to him. I mean, I just carry on a conversation and I mean, I'm by myself. So people won't put me away. But I mean, I just, just man to man, I just talk to him, and then I just, I just be quiet and listen and just, and just kind of just revel in this, in the experience of having him there. But I just wanted to encourage you today, and this whole, this whole, uh, going live thing is, is just to really— I want to encourage and empower and inspire you that this, this word right here, this is life. And, and this is, this is how you're going to get through the day. And the spirit realm is so much stronger than the physical realm. And so if we just dig in a little bit every day and just get a little stronger spiritually every day, your life will get better and better. And I promise you, because it has mine. And God says that he's not a respecter of persons. So if he'll do it for me, he'll do it for you. So instead of me continuing to ramble on, thanks again for watching this. I want to make these kind of short and sweet. And so it maybe gets you some value. But I'm gonna have a place in here where you can, I've got 5 prayers to increase your power and destroy fear. And it works, I pray 'em every day, and it really works. So I mean, I wanna give those to you free. I'm gonna figure out how to set all this technology stuff up with Facebook, but you'll be able to comment, and then I'll try to send it to you through Messenger and stuff. So give me a little bit, let me try to figure this thing out, but Thanks again for, for sticking around. Take care. Love y'all.
