YouTube Bible Study- You are a King Part 2 Moment of Truth

Greg Ryan explains that believers are kings, not just priests. In Israel's 12 tribes, only Levi served as priests (8%) while the other 92% functioned as kings. He frames Scripture as a sword and offensive weapon for daily life, urging regular Bible study and reliance on the Holy Spirit.
Chapters
Good afternoon, it's Greg Ryan again, and I just wanted to follow up with yesterday's message about you are a king. And I say that kind of tongue-in-cheek because I realize that there are kings and priests, because in— if you remember Revelation 5:10, declares us in the new song that we, that we are kings and priests. So what— and the example that I had, and the thing I kind of pictured is, is in God's people, the Israelis, there were 12 tribes in Israel. And of the 12 tribes, only one of those tribes were priests, or the Levi, the Leviticus priests. The tribe of Levi. And so taking that as an example, I would say 1 of 12 people in God's kingdom or in the body of Christ would probably qualify or be needed in the priestly role. And so that would be roughly about 8%, give or take a few percentage, but it probably right around 8%. So you've probably got a 92% chance of being a king. And so really, and that's kind of where I fall in, you know, and the thing that, and the reason why I even want to have this conversation is because, you know, it's all about the truth. And I call this the moment of truth because remember when Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. Nobody gets to the Father except through me. And in John, the Gospel of John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." So, and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. So the Bible is the Word, and Jesus said, Jesus is the Word, and he's also the truth. So when you start studying, you know, and people think, you know, I've heard people tell me, Well, you know, if I study the two, they're going to put me in a pulpit, you know, and I don't think that's going to be a problem. I don't think anyone's— no one's knocking down my door to put me in a pulpit. But the, you know, the truth is that this is also a sword, and this is also your offensive weapon, and this is what gets you— it gets me through difficulties, it gets me through daily, you know, the daily grind of life. And I want to just encourage you, and that's why I'm here. I'm encouraging you to pick up this Bible and, and just dig into this thing. And so what I want to do is I just want to give you these quick little daily, these little daily moments of truth just to kind of encourage you, you know, because that's my— I think that's going to be my job, is to encourage and, and to encourage, inspire, and empower you to get into the word. And I tell people all the time that I make a horrible, terrible Holy Spirit, so it has nothing to do with me. It's just pointing— it's pointing you to Jesus. And that— and that's my job, and that's what I want to do. I want to— I just want to keep directing you to the Word and directing you to Jesus. And the Holy Spirit said he'd never leave us nor forsake us. So the Holy Spirit is here, and he will lead you into all truth. So with that in mind, the 12 tribes of Israel— you're probably going to fall into one of the 11 warrior tribes workers. You know, some of them made the spears, some of them made the shields, some of them were actually the workers, and some of them were farmers. You get the picture. You know, plumbers— you know, they didn't have plumbers, but you get the point. There's people that— that the doers and the workers, and not the people that are given to the word of God, to bring the word from God to the people. So tomorrow, I'm going to tie all this together with my football analogy. I'm sure you're probably gonna be fired up about that. But since it's football season, I wanna give you a football analogy because I kinda use, I kinda gotta picture things. And if I get a picture of something, it gives me a little better understanding of the word. So if you stick with me for a while, you'll see that I'll speak in pictures. So I'm gonna give you a picture representation, a football picture representation of how the, how the, the word is, is going to fit into all this and how you are a king and how all that fits in. But I just want to encourage you again that you are a king. And you know, in Deuteronomy, I think it's 8:18, that it says that, that God has given you— you shall remember the Lord your God, for he, he has given you the power to get wealth. And the— and what I see kings do and what I think we ought to do is we need to you know, we need to take in the spoil and then bring it to the priests. The priests aren't, you know, they're not commanded to make the money. They're commanded to bring the word of God. So we go out and get the money and capture kingdoms and, and take over our thing and bring the spoils back and lay some of it at the, at the feet of the priest and the church and to help them go. And again, I want to encourage you, Houston's still catching all kinds of problems. They still have a lot of stuff going on and they need a lot of help financially. If you can get down there, if you're close and have a boat, I want to encourage you to help if you can. And we're doing what we can financially, but I— we really, you know, as we all come together, a little anything is better than nothing. So again, thank you for sticking with me. Kind of rambled on. That's kind of my tendency. I tend to chase rabbits sometimes. But just remember that you are a king, and remember that God loves you. And if he had a refrigerator in heaven, your picture would be all over it. You are his favorite. See you tomorrow.
