YouTube Bible Study you are a king part 4 Moment of Truth

A pastor uses a football field analogy to explain that every Christian is a king with a specific role to play. He urges believers to stop sitting in the pews and start acting on their faith: visiting the sick, feeding the poor, studying Scripture daily. Each person has a unique position, and none is unimportant.
Chapters
Good morning, everybody. I just wanted to finish up my teaching on the— with a football analogy about the kings and priests. Most of us, again, are kings, and we're supposed to go into our kingdom and take dominion. But what I find a lot of people, if you go back to the football analogy, there's 11 people on the field, there's 11 players, there's 11 different positions. Remember, there's 11 tribes of— in Israel, or actually 12 tribes, but one of them is the coach, one of them is a Levite, and we're going to get to that. But we've got the 11 of us that are kings, we need to get in the game. There's also stands. If you go to a football field, I mean, most of the times people sit in the stands. You know, a lot of people think that, you know, if we go to church, if we go to church, that we're doing something, that's our spiritual thing, that's our doing something for God. Actually, I would consider church more like a— just a fine restaurant where you are fed, you are fed and get nourishment to go out and play the game. It's kind of like the athletic table. If you were in athletics and you go and get full and you get your energy up and then you go out and take it on the field. So really, the real work begins when the church is over and we walk out the door. So what I want to do and what I want to give you this analogy, if you think about the, probably the most famous king in Bible history is King David. And King David, it was said that he was a man after God's own heart. And if you kind of look at him, we'll probably study King David a little bit, but if you look at what King David did, King David really had no fear. You know, he did a lot of things right, he did a lot of things wrong. I mean, I resemble, I mean, I'm not trying to compare myself to King David, but I do a lot of things wrong. And you know, the Bible is so comforting that it says that there are now therefore no condemnations to them that are in Christ Jesus. I mean, I don't have to beat myself up, I just got to pick myself up. You know, you don't have to worry, oh my gosh, I screwed up, I got to just lay here. No, just get up, dust yourself off, and you know, take the L, take the loss, as my son would say, and just let's go. But what we got to do, we got to get in the game. And us 11, the Kings, that are— we've all got different positions when we're out there. Not everybody touches the ball. If you know anything about football, it sometimes it's a penalty if some people touch the ball. So, you know, there are people, there are different positions, there's different things going on. In the church. And not everybody, not everybody has to be out front, and not everybody has to be doing— but everybody's important. Everybody's important. In fact, you can't move the ball without linemen. And so, you know, there's no position on the, on the football field that's not important. Now let's go to the, the coach, the, the Levi, the person with the headset. That person, that's the pastor or the priest. That's the person that hears from God. Now God is speaking to all of us, but he's speaking specifically to the pastor and tells him, look, this is what's going on, I need you to tell the people this. And we come in and get fed, and he tells us, look, you need to be going over here, or we need to be doing this. And we, you know, that kind of thing where the coach is encouraging us, he's putting us in the right position to succeed, he's praying for us, we should be praying for, you know, the pastor. All of this stuff works together, and we come together as a team. Now the coach, doesn't get on the field. The coach brings an encouragement and puts the people in the right position. But I think we kind of sort of got it backwards to where the, the coaches, you know, we go to church and then if somebody needs to talk to somebody and somebody needs to pray for somebody, we call the pastor. We're supposed to take dominion. The Bible says that we— Jesus gave us. There's no stepchildren in the body of Christ. Jesus gave us the same authority and power that he gave the pastor. So quit, you know, sending your pastor to the hospital all the time. You go visit somebody, or you go to jail and visit, you know, the prisoners that are locked up. You feed the poor. You know, we as a group need to find something that excites us, something that makes us come alive, and we need to do it. We need to go out there and get in the game. We need to get out of the pews, get out of the stands, and get in the game. And so I want to encourage you today, you are a king. I mean, you are a king. You have a kingdom. You've been— you're going to be given a crown. We're going to throw it at God's feet, but you're going to have a crown. You're a king of something. And so I want to encourage you today to, to go, you know, find your kingdom and go take dominion over it. Go get after it. Get fed. Get in that Word every day. You know, it says the whole reason— this is the moment of truth— the whole reason is I'm doing these real quick little videos to just encourage you and inspire you. It's okay to read the Word of God. It's okay to, to study it. I'm going to talk about what we— what's even better than studying the Word and even better than reading the Word, and we'll probably talk about that next week. But We, we need to get in that Word of God, and we need to get after it. And I just want to encourage you, I, I know I say this a lot, I'll probably say it more and you'll probably get sick of it, but you are God's favorite. And if God had a, had a refrigerator in heaven, your picture would be all over it. God loves you, and he, he sees right where you are. Talk to, talk to God today. I want to encourage you to just spend some time telling him what you're thankful for and just and just love on God today. And the Bible says, draw near to me and I'll draw near to you. And, and it says in James, it says to be a doer of the word and, and not a hearer only, deceiving yourself. We can deceive, you know, we— Satan deceives us, but we can deceive ourselves thinking that we're doing something for God just sitting our backsides in the pew. So let's go on, let's go get after it, let's, let's go do something good. And it doesn't have to be big. It can just be smile at somebody. It can just be say hi to somebody that you normally, you know, maybe not say hi to. But anyway, I love you and I'll see you tomorrow.
