Okay, today I want to talk about David's response to after he was anointed. And I want to apologize, I don't have my microphone on today, so the, the audio may be a little bit different. But David, when David was anointed, if you remember in 1 Samuel 1 Samuel 16:13, that the Spirit of the Lord was upon him from that day forward. So David was anointed king, and I just got to ask you, if you were called in from the field as a little man, a 13 to 16 year old boy, what would you have done after you were anointed king? I'll tell you, my reaction probably wouldn't have been anything like David's, but David went back out to the field. We find him in the field anointed. He was anointed as King of Israel. So to me, that's just a crazy response and another reason why God picked David, because of his humbleness or humility, or maybe he didn't care. Maybe, you know, it's hard to tell, but it didn't affect David. I mean, he still, he was working his job when he was called, and he worked his job after he was anointed. So, and that's the point I want to make, is that, you know, we, we have the same Spirit on us today, or with us, as King David had. And in fact, it's the same Spirit of the Lord. And we can go and do— God, God, you know, you got saved somehow, either coming off at church. I got saved at a business meeting. But you were doing something, and then after you were saved you went out and had to do it again. I mean, you don't just all of a sudden get a robe and a harp and get up on a cloud. I mean, you gotta keep going through this life. Well, now you're a king. Now what are you gonna do? David went back to work. But this is what happens though, this is what I want you to look at, is after he went back to work, things started happening. Saul, his, uh, the anointing of the Spirit of the Lord went off of Saul, the king, the current king. And so he had a distressing spirit. And so they— someone, one of his servants, I don't know where they got the idea, but one of his servants said, hey, you know, you probably need to have somebody play an instrument to get that thing off. You got a distressing spirit. I mean, I don't know, I'm just reading it. But Saul said, find me somebody. And then one of the servants in Saul's house I don't know if he was in a castle or what, but where he was living, said, I heard of this, I heard this son of Jesse's who is really good with the instrument, and he is a mighty man of valor, a man of war. And so I'm like, when did David go to war? You know, I mean, that is just crazy. I mean, things just started happening, and there's no such word in the Hebrew language as coincidence. I read a book, and I can't call the name of the author, but he said in the Hebrew language there's two words that we use a lot, it's coincidence and retirement, and there's no such word in the Hebrew language for those two things. And the retirement's a whole different issue. We may or may not talk about that. But King David was called into Saul's kingdom, or into his house, and he played the harp. And when he played it, the distressing spirit went away. And so Saul made David his armor bearer. So I'm going to stop it there, but I just want you to see that when, when you're anointed, or when you, you have the Spirit of God, you're a king. And things start happening in the spirit realm. Things start happening, but we gotta, we gotta accept that by faith. We gotta think, we, you know, we're more than conquerors. There's things that we can do now with the Spirit of the Lord on us, but you know, the enemy wants to tell you that you don't have anything, or that's a bunch of crud and you can't, you don't have nothing. So don't listen to him, listen to the Word. That's why you gotta get into this Word. You gotta read the Word of God and dig into it and think about what's this going on. God's not a respecter of persons. If he did it for David, he would do it for you. If he does it for me, he'll do it for you. So I mean, just Take that word today, and I just want to encourage you, just take that in, just let that soak in. And we're going to talk about, probably tomorrow, we're going to get into Goliath, David and Goliath. I love the story. I mean, it's a very popular story, but I'm going to maybe come in at a different angle. But I want you to remember that one of the servants called David a mighty man of valor and a man of war. And we're going to look at what his brothers thought of him, probably tomorrow or maybe the next day. But anyway, I'm going to end it there. I thank y'all for watching and listening, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. Take care.
