QA roles are vanishing at frontier AI companies, replaced by alignment testing and evaluation dataset writing. These datasets now drive model training itself, giving testers a chance to shift into AI safety work they've always wanted to do.

I'm not rebranding what QA is or testing. The world has changed underneath. But it's already happened. And the early signs are at the larger, you know, tech-first frontier model companies. Look at their job offer. Look at their job boards, by the way. They don't have tester roles. None of them do, by the way. They call it different things, though. And the most expensive jobs they have are things like testing for alignment, testing for whatever, like writing these evals. And training is writing evals. A lot of it's writing evals, other than kind of monkey optimization of compute. That NVIDIA does for them anyway. So, there's one seat left. I'm not trying to change or redefine whatever has been, and there will be jobs trickling in the future that are those things still because people don't like change, and change doesn't happen overnight. But that's the only seat that's left. And I think that it predominantly, it should be the victory lap for the QA people that talk all day and night about how they save the user, they save the business, they have the context, AI doesn't get it. Now's the time to shine, rise and shine.
