Tonight, the 65th annual Grammys will have everyone talking about the awards and the glitz and the glamour. Trevor Noah will return to host, and there are plenty of stars hoping to win. It's music's biggest night in television, and we are planning accordingly. So naturally, our style guru, Kiara Cotton is here with us. Kiara, so much fashion happening. I mean, walk us through. What exactly can we expect?
You guys are absolutely being far too kind with that style guru term, but I will gladly take it. And while it is one of music's biggest nights, there's no doubt that fashion, both hits and misses, will be on full display at this year's awards show. There are 91 categories, including top awards for record of the year, song of the year, and album of the year. The queen bee herself, Beyonce, is leading tonight's nominations with nine. Kendrick Lamar has eight, and both Adele and Brandi Carlisle have seven apiece. But now back to that fashion piece that we were talking about. I spoke with 3News Style contributor Hallie Abrams, who shared what colors she expects to see on tonight's red carpet.
So what we've been seeing, fashion wise, this year are magenta is huge. Magenta is the pantone color of the year. Cobalt, which I actually wore specifically for you today, is something we've been seeing a lot of. And then when I look back at the past two red carpets from this year, you know, there's a lot of light pink and purples.
No way you can bring the red carpet to your everyday life. Halle also had a tip for that.
It's picking the one strategic piece and then integrating that with the rest of your outfit. That doesn't feel quite as over the top.
It really all is possible. Halle says you can find those key pieces online at Amazon or in person in stores like H and m, Zara, and Forever 21. So, Brian and Isabel, we can bring a little bit of the red carpet to our news life.
I like that because that's on my budget. I don't know about the, you know, the awards show budget, but, Zara, I can do, you know, little here and there and H and M we could do, right? Yeah. Okay. Sprinkle it in.
Sprinkle it in. Yeah, let's plan a shopping trip, y'.
All.
Yeah, yeah. We can leave right now.
Okay. Warm up the car and we're out of here. We're good.
I mean, hey, we might as well just toss it to commercial break right now. Stick with us. We'll have a look at your forecast right after this. Yeah. And the top stories. Okay. Bye, guys. We're going shopping. We're going shopping.
