Barrel Jean Tip!

How to pick shoes for barrel-leg jeans without throwing off the proportions. Avoid heavy-strapped sandals and clunky sneakers. Go for low-volume flats, streamlined sandals, or minimal sneakers, and show some foot at the ankle.

When you're wearing a barrel jean, your footwear needs to show some foot. So if you notice the straps on this are quite narrow, like the top of the foot straps. So that even though it's a flat shoe, it's creating some, like, airiness down there, if that makes sense. So it's creating a cohesive, harmonious look, which is what we want. Let me show you what doesn't work. Okay. I love these sandals. Don't get me wrong. It's not that I don't love these sandals. I just don't love these sandals. With these feet, do you see the difference? Do you see, especially from the front, even with, like, a platform that gives me height. It's too much weight, visual weight happening at the bottom. Could I do that motion again? Okay, now let's go into sneakers, because we all want to wear sneakers, right? I mean, I love my sneakers, and there are some sneakers that might work, but these, like, too clunky. The colors work, and these shoes are old. The air maxes are still made, but this colorway is not. I'll try and link up something similar for you, but it's just. It's too heavy right now. The volume and the eye are going down here. I wanted to fix it. If I was like, damn, I am wearing these shoes, that makes it better, A little better. But I still think overall, it's not like you're not feeling a me eye. Am not feeling amazing in it this way. There are other things I would choose. Let me look and find some. These shoes might not look like they're going to work, these sneakers, but they are going to be better than the running sneakers. It's just I'm 5 4, so I need to roll them because they need to hit, like, here. Or I need to wear a different pair. I have shorter barrel jeans also. Okay. Because when you're wearing a sneaker, really ideally, it needs to hit, like, at the top of your ankle bone, or it needs to be long and, like, sort of COVID a lot of the jean. But look. One, two, three. It's magic. Now all of a sudden, it worked. This is an example of ones that don't work as well. See how it's too heavy? See how the strap is too heavy? See how even with it rolled, rolled is a little better, but it's just not as good because, wait, I'm going to show you the good. So you all know these are my favorite, favorite, favorite shoes because they go with everything and they are very comfortable. And I think this is my second or third pair like I order them now. I keep a pair in Florida. I keep a pair here. I have a pair with the cork bottom, a pair with the suede bottom. They're just they are the best shoe and they. Someone asked me if they're still in style. Yes, yes, yes, yes they are but see how it just just works? It dresses things up, it's not heavy at the bottom and I'm going to give you one more option of another one if you do not like the plastic front thing. See the difference? There's not a bunch of volume down here. They just sort of evap elevate at the same time. That's what you're looking for. You're looking for the balance between the top, the jeans or pants and the shoes. So if you feel like your barrel leg jeans are falling flat no pun intended, look at your shoes and look at your top and see how those are playing together and I hope this helps. Love you.
