YouTube try-on/style commentary (creator: kind-iguana) about the spring 2025 fashion trend "coastal cool" (speaker prefers this name over last year’s "coastal grandma"). The clip highlights using stripes, buttery-soft fabrics, slouchy sizing, and off-white/canvasy white jeans with small details (inverted pleat, gold button, gold sandals) to create an effortless Nantucket/beach-home-inspired look, while noting that looking effortless takes effort.

There's a trend this spring that they're calling coastal cool, and I prefer that name tenfold to coastal grandma, which is what they were calling it last year. And that whole idea is you sort of want to look like, you know, you have a home in Nantucket and you're walking the beach and you're not trying that hard. And the easiest way to do that, I think, is with stripes. Stripes. Stripes are fabulous. They're a great neutral to keep in your wardrobe because they add, like, a little bit of punch, and they sort of go with everything. This stripe piece, I might have used this term before, but we'll use it again. If there was feel of vision, you would want it. It is buttery. Buttery soft. Like, how many butteries could I use? It's buttery. I sized up to a medium in it because I wanted it to have a little slouch. I think in the back, there's this fun little inverted pleat detail. It's possible a tag sticking out. There's a tag there. I'm doing a try on guys, but this is, to me, the epitome of that coastal cool. It's a white jean, but it's not a boring white jean. And it's actually not crisp white. It's, like, a little off white. It's a little canvasy. I like that. There's the gold button here and the gold sandals. Right. So it's not. It's not coastal. Like, I've given up on life, and I'm just wearing, like, all of my hippie dippy clothes. It's like, I'm cool, I'm preppy, I'm modern, but I'm super easy. And I just, you know, I didn't try that hard. But by the way, anybody that looks like they didn't try hard really tried hard. It takes effort to look effortless. Just saying.
