This is the perfect weekend to get out and about, enjoy all that Northeast Ohio has to offer this time of year. It is so beautiful out there.
Yeah. And it's time to change out the wardrobe. So if you're not sure what to wear, we have you covered. 3News style contributor Hallie Abrams has a look at the denim trends we need to know about for today's Fashion Friday.
So it's fall time, and that means thinking about fall fashion, and a lot of us are thinking about denim. The big trends are jeans that are wider, jeans that are more of a boot cut, a flare, a trouser. Now, if we're talking about denim and wider denim, you have to keep a few things in mind when it comes to styling. So today we are at Evereve. I asked my friend Bonnie to come help and show off some different denim looks. Okay, so we're going to start with the number one jean look. If you are looking to expand your skinny jean horizons. And that would be a dark wash boot that it is sort of straight in the thigh and then kicks out a little bit at the bottom. So that in theory, you could wear a boot under it. You could wear it to an office in a creative environment. But a blouse sort of elevates a denim. I am really excited about this jean style. So this is a combination. It's as if your jeans and your cargo pants had a baby. And it's a cargo denim, and these are really great because it's a straight leg. You'll see cargo pants as trending this fall as well. It's that whole 90s thing coming back to life. And one of the important things when we were styling this was to pair it with a loafer so that there was a bit of ankle showing. Because it is a chunkier shoe, it pairs nicely with that cargo style pant. I am really excited about this jean style, and it's called a trouser style. In this silhouette, you wouldn't be surprised because it has more of a pant like look. The reason women go crazy for it, especially again, if you're trying to get away from a skinny jean, is that it is tighter up top. We did a pointy toe boot because it just sets off the wider leg nicely. Or the same way you'd wear a trouser with a fashion sneaker. You can do that as well. And another thing I'm a little obsessed with is this vest. Vests are also very big for fall. This cute jean is a straight jean. Sometimes it's called a stovepipe. It's just straight up and down. It works with most shoes because again, it's not super wide. So here we did it with a high top sneaker. Something I hear from women all the time is I don't want to bring attention to this part of my body. But bizarrely, this kind of button fly actually camouflages things. We put it with a graphic tee in this really cool blazer that you basically can wear it with the hoodie underneath and have the layered look or wear it just as a blazer. Now, my one caveat is that if a trend doesn't work for you, I want you to be trend informed, like know what the trends are. So then you can choose to opt in or opt out.
