Fashion Friday: Spring fashion trends for men and women

A short televised YouTube fashion segment (Fashion Friday) where host Laura Caso and wardrobe consultant Hallie Abrams discuss spring 2021 trends for men and women. Key points: the rise of a bubblegum-pink color across women's and men's garments, carryover details like puff sleeves and chunky 90s-style chains, and the infusion of work-from-home comfort (performance fabrics, sweatshirt-like blazers, moisture-wicking dress pants) into office-appropriate clothing.

All right, well, it is Fashion Friday. I'm excited about this. And today we're talking spring fashion trends for men and also for women. The wardrobe consultant Hallie Abrams shows us what we'll be seeing a lot of and what work from home fashion is making its way into work, appropriate attire.
Every new season, there are always new trends that come up. Some become more prevalent and relevant, and those that become more relevant gain traction and stay for multiple seasons. This season, one of the big trends we're seeing is pink, in case you didn't guess, and it's not the millennial pink that we've seen in the past. This is what they're calling a bubble gum pink. So it is really like. It's like Hubba Bubba. And it's great. It's fun. It's actually a color that looks wonderful on most people, and it's a really easy way to infuse a little newness into your wardrobe for the season. This cute little T shirt is from Ann Taylor. It's in the $50 range. I like that. It also has a puff sleeve, which is a carryover trend from last season and actually even two seasons ago. And that's always great. Also to be able to take older trends, newer trends, and marry them together. I also really like how this bubblegum pink color looks back to a lighter wash jean, which, again, is a newer sort of trend, but one that we've been seeing for multiple seasons. This is that same bubblegum pink in just a classic oversized oxford that's actually from Zara, and the price point is $35. It's great. It's easy. No matter what your age, you can wear it. And I know there's been a controversy about skinny jeans. This would look great. Whether you're wearing skinny jeans or a straighter like jean. This pink trend is also coming full circle and being shown for gentlemen as well. So a couple of. I got this from Tickner's. I don't know if you can see it's a beautiful sort of bubblegum pink color, but it has the really fun buttons on it. And the other great thing about this is is it's made out of a performance material, so. Meaning that it is like a moisture wicking, cooling material, and that makes it comfortable. Even though it looks like a dress shirt, it sort of feels like one of your Nike Under Armour shirts. So guys are loving that. And that is another trend that I'm seeing for men and women this season. These dress pants, totally. You can wear them to work. These are gentlemen's Also from Tickner's, by a brand called Ang Noire. And they literally feel like they're. You could have gotten them at the Nike outlet or Lululemon. But in fact, they are dress pants, so they don't wrinkle. They wick away the heat. This is a blazer, but it is really made out of a sweatshirt. Material has a great little detail on the cuff. And you could definitely wear this to work, but you feel like you're wearing a sweatshirt.
So we're taking the comfort of working from home back into the office. And one other thing, ladies. Those big chunky chains from the 90s, they're making a comeback. This is so true. All of my friends are wearing them. I need to get on that trend. But you know what? I'm on the pink trend. I did not see this script before. This is a coincidence, and I'll take it. Can I give myself a little pat on the back?
I know. And, Laura, you'll have to excuse my fashion ignorance. Here are. Do those qualify officially as puffed sleeves? I mean, you're.
I think they do, you know, and I wear a lot of these lately for the last two years, just like she said. I really enjoy a good puff sleeve dress. Maybe not as big as what she was showing, but I think it does qualify as a puff sleeve pin pink outfit. So there you have it, Jay.
I. I think so. Laura Queso. Always on the cutting edge of fashion.
Yeah, right.
Right. I love it.
