So from black tie to dressy casual to themed summertime. I mean, summertime is a beautiful thing. We can be full of all these various dress codes and trying to figure it out is what can be a little dicey.
Yeah. What to wear. So our three new style contributor Hallie Abrams is here now to help us decode the dress code with some help from local boutiques.
Different events have different dress code rules, and while they're there, they're confusing and they're sort of changing and morphing.
So we're making it easy for you by asking some fabulous local boutiques to meet us at Sapphire Creek Winery to style some summer ready event looks. First up, some formal inspiration, courtesy of Corey, the owner of Haven in Chagrin Falls.
This dress I think is perfect for that wedding. For black tie optional or even honestly black tie nowadays.
I love it. The color also is super spectacular.
Yes.
The color is bold and beautiful and leans into that that trend. We're seeing this color all over. The rhinestone embellishment is huge. I have it on my bag, on my dress. It's super celebratory and really fun and.
Playful because this silhouette hits right at your ankle. I think that's one of the reasons it can read total formal.
Absolutely.
Jessica, a stylist at Haven, created a more informal look using some of these same trends.
I love you also are wearing this really fun yellow color.
Yes. I love this, like lime yellow color.
It's gorgeous. Love that it has a little sleeve because there's so many women that are like, oh, I don't want to wear sleeveless, but I still want to feel dressed up.
Absolutely. And I think that this also, you know, can translate to so many different situations. Like you can dress it up, but you can also dress it down. Which is why I think this dress is so versatile as well.
If you're into clean lines, Stella, founder of Cleveland based online retailer THD Shop has you covered.
Our sweet spot is actually that minimalist, neutral, loving girl. This is by Aster. The label super lightwe great for a semi formal occasion or wedding cocktail party. Really flattering. And then it has the more flowy open skirt, which makes it just more wearable and comfortable.
I also really like that it's in this brown sienna sort of color. Neutrals don't have to just be black and white and gray.
If you have a destination wedding on your calendar, this vibrant linen option from thdshop and modeled by Ivy might be the perfect choice. Tell me about this beautiful coral orange burst of sunshine dress.
It is a Linen blend, bias cut with a halter neckline. It feels really great and I'm a little bit curvier, so I feel like it really emphasizes my curves without showing too much.
Can we see it move?
Oh yeah.
Perfect for the dance floor. Speaking of curves, Charkiya, owner of He Loves Curves boutique, says there are great options for all body types.
The curves actually means a woman's smile, her personality and her confidence. I carry from small to 6x.
I love that. I understand you have some models that you're gonna share with us today.
Ok, the first one, bring out Mimi.
It's beautiful. I love that it's full length. That helps it be really black tie appropriate.
Has great stretch, amazing fabric and it feels good. It's not too thick, it's not too thin, so it's kind of versatile.
If shorter hemlines are more your style, check out this sparkly number. Perfect for a themed bash.
Ms. Marnita, she is wearing this nice spicy sequins. Beautiful dress.
It's like sherbet colors, just a little pickle back.
It is a fun dress. It's a cocktail dress. You can wear it to a semi formal. The sparkles definitely dress it up. And I also really like how it's shorter but then it's long sleeved.
It's like strategically placed skin. And if you're not a dress girl, that's okay too. Sharkea suggests trying a pantsuit like this eye catching number on model Rebecca.
You could go from casual, you can go to work, but you can also add a brooch and I'll wear it at a wedding. The sleeves is amazing. Definitely a statement piece.
And now that you're in the mood to shop, just remember.
So if in doubt, I would ask someone in the wedding party or the bride and groom or their family themselves. And if not, you're always better off to be a little overdressed than a little underdressed.
