Well, we'll be getting into the forecast in just a bit, but it is time to talk fall because we're getting some cooler temperatures here. We're trying to maybe switch up our closet for those fall clothes. 3 New Style contributor Hallie Abrams is here to fall ify our look. Oh, yeah, I'm excited about this.
I'm excited, too. I made up that word this morning. What do you think about it?
I love it. And we're showing it across everything. So we don't have to put our summer pieces away just yet. We can work with them.
We can absolutely work with them. As long as they are seasonal fabrics, like 12 month fabrics, you can wear them. So what makes things summer or fall is often the fabric and then the cut. So, meaning it's sleeveless. So I have a few tips for you on how to follify your summer pieces.
So first we put. I noticed you put something underneath under.
Right.
I love that.
So that's one of the ways to do it is to take something that's sleeveless and put something under it. It can be a button up. It could be a T shirt. I happen to do it with a sheer turtleneck under mine. That was pretty, right? So those are all ways that you can add another layer and make your summer pieces last longer through the colder weather.
So smart. Also, I just purchased those boots that she's showing here, and they are fabulous. A white cream boot is great for this time.
It is. It is. So do you want to jump ahead to one of the other tips?
Oh, can we jump ahead? I don't know.
If you say so. Let's do it.
Let's do it. Let's do it.
Let's do it. So another tip is to close the toe. Right? So that's another way your outfit. In the warmer weather, you'd wear a sleeveless dress and a sandal.
Okay.
In the colder weather, you're going to wear a sleeveless dress with something under it and a closed toe bootie. That's what qualifies it.
Let me ask you, this is off script. What do you think about it? Like a little peep toe, like for a fall with like a thick wedge or a block?
Peep toe can totally work as long as it's not yucky. You know, I don't like it when it rains and then the water comes in. So. So that's why a closed toe is better.
Okay.
But you know.
Okay. It's a little off script.
Sorry, everybody.
Sorry about that.
Okay, you want to know the second tip?
Yes. I Want to know it?
So you put something under it. The second one is to put something over it.
There we go.
So this also is a strappy little dress. I actually found it on clearance at Marshall's. I think it's like $16. And it has a cute little, like, spaghetti strap, you know, like you would think of that you'd wear in the summer. But we put this cardigan over it. And in fact, what I did is I turn the cardigan backwards. So also, in the warmer months, we want to see more skin. In the colder months, we don't. So putting it backwards gives it a little more like a higher neck.
Yeah.
And again, I put it with a lug sole bootie. So over it, it's so cute. In the back, it's so cute. You can totally wear it both ways.
I love it.
Okay.
Tip four white, right?
Yeah. Yeah. So people always ask me year after year after year, can I wear my white after Labor Day? Can I wear my white after Labor Day? Maybe back when Queen Elizabeth was, you know, first ordained. She was not. Or inaugurated or whatever.
Yeah, yeah, right.
Maybe you didn't do it then. Now you absolutely can. But there are a few things, again, that you're going to do. You're going to combine it with more autumnal colors.
Right.
So browns, darker things that are going to ground it. And a plaid is a traditional way to really make it feel like fall.
I love that.
This little sweater is super cute. In the summer, you would have worn the sleeveless sweater, so sandals and the white jeans. But now we throw the blazer on and put some booties with it. And again, it's falified.
We have follified the wardrobe.
We have solidified the wardrobe.
Yeah. Our producer, Taylor, I could see her wearing something like that. Taylor, you'd rock it. She said cute. All right, Holly, thank you so much. We always appreciate it. Such good tips.
