A speaker explains that monochromatic dressing is best thought of as a color wash—wearing variations of the same color rather than one exact shade—and gives practical tips on mixing textures and tones (example: browns, boots, top/bottom that read like a dress). The speaker also promotes a menopause belly masterclass for people wanting guidance on how garments hit the body and recommendations for pieces that flatter a thickening midsection.

Monochromatic theoretically means that you're wearing all one color. Right. Very often we think of monochromatic as being wearing all, like, white and off white or gray or really neutrals. I'm doing it here with brown. But really it can be any color, and you're going to see a lot of that this fall. I'm calling it more like color washing. You know how you've seen people do, like, their rooms where the ceiling and the walls and the trim are all, like, variations of the same color? The same is happening in clothing. So, yes, these are the same color, but the boots, not really the exact same brown, but that's okay. And I could do another piece that, again, not the same brown, as long as it was in a texture that would work and bring it all together. So it's more of, like, a color wash than it necessarily is, like, monochromatic, but it's, like, nuanced. There's a nuance to it. By the way, I also like this because it looks like it's a dress. Oops. But it's a top and a bottom. So I personally can adjust it to where it hits me best. Off, it looked like it was a total crop top. I'm not wearing a total crop top. So I did it this way. And it's very lightweight and quite comfortable. And I think when it hits up high, it hits me in a better place for my, oh, by the way, did you do the menopause belly masterclass? If you didn't and you are struggling when you're putting things on, saying, like, oh, where is this hitting? Is it hitting at a good point? How do I hide it? How do I still feel like myself now that I'm getting, like, a little thicker in the middle? It's available. You'll get all the information. You'll get the replay link. Links of pieces that help with all of it. It's worth it. I'm tagging it there for you.
