It is 6:23 and it is time for your mom Minute Monday. So many of us have been living in leggings and stretchy pants, but it's fall so that means it's time to zip up the jeans. But do you know which ones are in style this season? I recently turned to the wardrobe consultant Hallie Abrams for expert advice from the on the best mom jeans for this fall. Here's Mom's Minute Monday.
I feel like I'm seeing so many trends when it comes to jeans. What is the hottest trend for 2020 fall?
It's a higher waist with a longer leg and sort of a boot cut to a belt cut. Skinny will always be in, but you'll notice that most jeans are much straighter.
Light wash or dark wash?
If you're only going to have one pair, I would have a dark wash because that will sort of go with everything. But if you are adding on and you already have a dark wash, I think light wash is wonderful because it sort of has this softness to it.
Rips or no rips in the knee.
I'm not really encouraging people to buy things that have rips, but if you have them in your closet, 100% you can wear them.
What is your favorite detail on a jean?
I really like a raw hem on the bottom. It gives that roughness without necessarily being old.
What is your favorite top to pair with jeans?
T shirt. It could be a white T shirt. It could be a graphic t shirt. 100% t shirt and jeans all the way.
Always some great pointers and we asked Callie to give us some of her favorite brands. So if you're on a budget, she says Old Navy is a great value. She recommends madewell and cut from the cloth for a mid price jean. And if you want to go designer, she says Frame Mother and Good American are her favorites. And for more tips from Halle, you can check out the wardrobeconsultant.com she has a blog. She's on social. She's always sharing great advice. And Dave, I know that guys. I mean you typically have like one or two pairs of jeans. And then when we're talking about washes and skinny or boot cut, what do we do? White noise?
Well, I don't know. I got to admit I have totally done a 180 on jeans over the last few years. So I used to not care so much about it. But tomorrow on Go we'll talk dad jeans. Kidding.
We won't forget the dads.
