Chances are sunglasses have been a staple accessory in your summer wardrobe.
They're just as important for protecting your eyes, even preventing wrinkles, as they are for completing your whole ensemble. Our Chiara cotton has a look at all of the hottest trends in summer shades. No matter what your price point.
Sunglasses may be the go to warm weather accessory, but as trends change, so should your eyewear. We met up with three new style contributor Hallie Abrams at See in the Vent and Aiken district for the scoop on the hottest styles of the summer. So we're gonna check out styles for both men and women today, and we've got a little bit of help. So Emmett has graciously joined us today. What style does Emmett have on right now?
So this is sort of a modern aviator. It's a tape. When you think of aviator, think of, you know, a top gun. So instead of a rounded frame, it's more square, but it has the brass, and it just looks really, really cool.
All of Sige's sunglasses retail for $149. But Hadley found a similar style for less. She says it's all about how you want to invest.
Personally, I believe in quality when it comes to sunglasses. But at the same time, if you are maybe not the most responsible person in putting your frames in their case, you also want to be considerate of the price point.
Halle found this aviator frame for $15 at Target.
Similar, different quality, but if you want to try the look, Target is a good way to try it also. And you can find other places as well.
Next up, the oversized trip.
So it's sort of a two trends in one because it has the tinted lenses. This oversized frame is from see, but we were able to find a blue frame at target, so it's $15.
You can get the most for your money, no matter what your price range.
Absolutely.
Our third style sticks with the Tom Cruise theme.
This is sort of a classic wayfarer, you know, with a little bit of a twist. We were talking before about top Gun with the Aviator. So this is more his risky business days.
Okay.
It's just cool, and it can work for men and women. And this is a pair that could.
Really go with just like this similar frame from Target.
So they have that same sort of tortoise feel, A little bit more oversized. But I do think I saw them on you, and they looked really good.
Now, Halle, of course, we can't forget about the ladies. There's trends for us too. This first style here, what are we looking at?
This is a really cool aviator. I love it. I love that it's the gold in the front, and then the side has the blue, so it's not basic at all.
We can wear this one kind of anywhere.
You can wear that one anywhere. I think that almost goes with anything. This pair's from Sea, and then this pair is from Target. Theirs is more of a class classic. And this one's a little like a twist on the classic because it's more of a square lens, but it's the same idea.
Next up, a style perfect for anyone wanting to make a statement.
I love the bright color. I love how they're oversized, and I love that they are not a metal. They're more of an acetate.
This is definitely where fashion meets function. But we also have a different option for you as well.
Yeah.
This is a pair from Target. They're just really cool in a different color. Not quite as bold, but still a color. And, hey, you can interpret it however.
You would like, however loud or mild you want to be.
Yeah.
And last but certainly not least, we're going back in time with this style. Right.
I love these on you. I really do. They're that oversized cat eye, total retro, but you look glamorous.
Yeah, it's definitely a vibe. It's a mood. You're going outside.
Love it.
And then here's again, a Target version. It's bolder because of the color.
So no matter what you like, no matter what your budget is, there's a pair of sunglasses out there for you. And I think these ones are mine.
I think so, too.
For three news, I'm Kiara Cotton.
I love how Hallie also pointed out, like, here's the expensive version, and then here's the one you could get at target for $10, because as we were talking, we need those in our life. Because a lot of times the sunglasses get lost or scratched or broken.
Looks like I wore the wrong tie clip today, so let me put on my glasses.
Oh, you got the.
You got the sunglasses. I was saying we should have all busted out which sunglasses wear. Mine are in the car. I always keep mine in the car.
I will say, though, truthfully, I used to always get the 10 or $20 pair, and then I. Cause I always break them or lose them.
Yeah.
But I got tired of that because I would always break them or lose them. So I finally went ahead and bought an expensive pair, and I am doing a great job.
Do you take care of them?
I do take care of them. Oh, there we go.
Turn yourself.
There we go.
Yeah.
All right.
I know.
All right, everybody's. Going to need those sunglasses today, which is a good thing on a Friday, right?
I will have no wrinkles.
That's true.
