This is a short transcript excerpt of a YouTube video in which Hannah Hammond reflects that freedom was her primary motivation growing up. She describes hating feeling trapped, pursuing financial independence, running construction companies, and ultimately realizing that money alone did not bring fulfillment—prompting a shift toward seeking happiness and purpose.

Like, freedom was my biggest why growing up, because I hated the feeling of being trapped and being in a household or an environment or a place that I couldn't control. And so I wanted to be free from that, and I wanted to be able to take care of myself, take care of other people and everything like that. But when I ran the construction companies and I realized that I didn't even, like, no amount of money was going to make me want to wake up the next day and run those companies, that's when I realized I need to shift the motivation. It's not just about money. Money's not going to solve the problems. Like, I need to be happy and I need to be fulfilled.
