Hannah Hammond argues that founders who won't delegate can't scale. She pushes back on the belief that you're better at everything, and says you have to let people mess up so they learn. Hands-off management is how you actually grow a team.

If you can't figure out how to delegate as an entrepreneur, you're never going to make it. I see entrepreneurs every day that can't figure out how to delegate. It's like this mental block that they have where they think that they're better at everything. And the reality of it is they're right, but they can't do everything. So it doesn't matter if you're better at everything. You can't do everything and get huge. I got really good at delegating early on to a point where, probably even to a fault where I'll put the ball in somebody else's court and I won't even follow up with them, like for a week, two weeks, three weeks, and then I'll let them go make the mistake. I could watch somebody that I gave something to screw it up right in front of me, and I won't say anything. Like, I'm not going to micromanage them. They can mess it up and then we can sit down and we can talk about how they can get better, right?
