Here's how reading Rich Dad Poor Dad at 13 years old absolutely changed my life. I was not in a good place. I was terrified. I was lost. I had no idea how to make money or have freedom or build wealth. And yes, I was already worried about this at 13 years old. So that was the first thing. It gave me hope to survive and to keep going. The second thing is it taught me the importance of acquiring assets and not acquiring liabilities. Assets are things that put money in your pocket, and liabilities are things that take money out of your pocket. So from a very young age, at 18 years old, when I sold my very first real estate deal, that commission I didn't use to go party and celebrate and buy clothes and a new car and any of that. I used that commission to buy a piece of real estate that I could go in, renovate, add value, and then turn into a rental over time. The third thing is it taught me the importance of minding my own business, meaning having control over my own business, my own outcomes. This is why I got into sales because there was no cap on my income potential at the time. I got to eat what I killed and I loved that.
