HP Capital raises $1 million to $100 million in debt and equity for commercial real estate across the US. Speaker A has owned a brokerage in Arizona and invested since age 18. Speaker B argues that an entrepreneur's ability to raise capital directly determines how big they can grow.
What kind of business are you in right now? What is HP Capital?
HP Capital is a commercial finance company. So we help raise capital for commercial real estate projects both on the debt side and the equity side. All asset classes nationwide, million dollars to 100 plus million dollar loans in different development projects. So it's a lot of fun. Came from the real estate, commercial real estate brokerage side. I still am an owner of a commercial real estate brokerage in Arizona, have been an investor since I was 18. All thanks to you.
Raising capital is one of the main things an entrepreneur does. A person can't raise capital, keeps them very small. You say that's true?
Oh yeah, yeah, you taught me that. Raising capital, sales and public speaking are three of the greatest skills that an entrepreneur or a person in general can develop to scale. You have to be able to raise capital, whether that's financing capital or equity capital for real estate investment projects or business endeavors or anything like that. It's a very important skill. It's a very hard skill. I mean, if I put out on my social media that I have a client looking to invest, you know, a couple million bucks of capital, there's thousands of messages pretty much that just start flooding it in every single market. Whether upmarket, down market, sideways market, everybody always is looking for capital. And it's a skill that's very, very important.
