A short transcript excerpt from a YouTube video by Hannah Hammond featuring a conversation with Shieki and another speaker about using a rage room (smashing glass with a bat to rage music) as a therapeutic way to release emotions. The speakers discuss social pressures—especially on women—to suppress anger and the benefits of allowing oneself to express strong feelings.
My therapist talks about people need to get it all out just like you mentioned and just express themselves. And Shieki took me to a rage room in 10B and we turn on rage music and just take a baseball bat and bash glasses scream and yell Especially as a female we don't ever scream or yell. We're just fine all the time.
When you're concerned if you start screaming and yell you're crazy. So I don't want to look crazy because I probably bought yourself to a height like I want to look professional.
And I want to seem like I have it all put together and so.
The problem is when you start to.
Focus on that.
You don't allow yourself to be human. Everybody has.
A trigger at some point.
Point that causes them to be emotional.
And get angry or upset but when you're so hyper focused on I need to be seen as enough anything that you feel might.
